Ben McKinley = he is a good forward target to kick to and with Robbo gone he would be a good fit and would help out Jack Watts next year.

Mark Seaby = We need a good tap ruckman that is able to move around the ground well and is able to take a good mark in the forward line. He would be a good fit.

Brent Reilly = he is a good and quick midfielder that is able to moving around the ground well. We need a quick midfielder with slow player like McLean and Jones.

What do people think?

If the price were good enough it would be worth a look, but they'd have to be going damn cheap. I'd say McKinley is the pick of the bunch, so he'd be the one i'd look at. Maybe they'd take Newton for him?

I think that he is uncontracted next year. But i am not 100% sure

McKin is still young and obviously has a lot of potential after kicking quite a few goals last year, this year has not been his best but like i said still young. He is a full forward and nothing else, he is pretty built and could be a power forward bails has been craving like the rock in the square with Jurrah and Wonna running around his feet and Watts, Bate, Sylvia off half forward... sounds good to me.

For where we're at right now, I'd like to use a general rule that if we going to trade for players, they have to be players that the club feels can contribute to our next premiership, say around 2012-15. Sure, Seaby is a premiership player, but he'll be nearing the end of his career in that span and I don't think he'd be much more of a contributor than any of our current thin ruck division. McKinley I don't see as a premiership contributor. Reilly could, but as 1858 pointed out, what would it cost to get him? You're not going to get him without sacrificing a valuable draft pick (a big no-no in our current plight) or a good young player (also pointless).

That's not to say it's pointless talking about this stuff, Todd, but I'm playing it conservative in trade week this year. Nobody's touching our first two picks or young talent, and that's all we have to offer.

McKinley is an interesting one. He's only 22 years old, around the same age as Newton, Bate and Dunn, he kicked 42 goals last season and is on his way to another 30+ goal season again this year. Has stagnated a bit in form over last season, but it's been pretty well documented his dissatisfaction over there.

If we could get him for cheap, say, 3rd round pick, or even better, for free in the PSD, he is definitely one i'd be looking at. He's young enough, and has been pretty good at scoring goals in a poor side. The only thing that works against him is that he is undersized for a KPP, so despite playing tall, like Robbo has for all these years, he's never likely to be able to take the next step in potency and dangerousness on a consistent basis.

He is definitely an improvement on Miller and Newton though.

McKinley yes, the other 2 no. Especially Seaby, definitely a lemon, will probably end up at Richmond or North Melbourne.

Already have McNamara, McLean, McKenzie, McDonald at the club- I'm sure McKinley would fit right in.

Definite yes to McKinley if his attitude is right. Kid can play and could be a top liner, but it all depends on character. I would not be upset to trade a late pick or player for him. He may not go as cheap as some think and will attract some interest.

Actually Ben McKinley plays as a tall by having good hands and a good jump to the ball.

Also Reilly in fact is a quick midfielder as you would have seen last night if you watched it. He is quite quick off the mark.
