How to watch game against Lions?

Featured Replies

I am desperate to watch Liam Jurrah's game this weekend but I can't afford the trip up to Brisbane. I was hoping the game would be covered by Foxtel, but I can't see it listed anywhere. Any suggestions guys?

The game is definately on foxtel

Thanks heaps. Failing that I was considering robbing a bank and flying up.

Do that! that would be a much better option, When you go to court over it don't forget to wear your Melbourne jumper :P

Rudeboy, drop in @ the Bentleigh club or Leighoak pub.

Watch him with fellow Dees.

Second chance for us up in Qld to see the boys this year, and the first chance to see Jurrah and hopefully Watts...very excited

anyone know anywhere in the airport i can watch this game? international flight leaves at 1050pm so i will check in around 730 and hopefully catch the game, disappointed its on foxtel for this reason.

The Bentleigh club is the place. Good atmosphere with your fellow demons. You can also grab a nice meal for a good price and bar prices if you are a Bentleigh club member.

Come on down to the Bentleigh club.....

Go Dees

Need a driver???

I was actually saying last week to some mates that, the good old fashioned 'footy pub' is a dying breed these days. Especially within the inner city suburbs.

Very hard to watch the footy unless its in a bistro these days.

I plan to drink heavily

:P

Haha, i came in here to say the same thing.

Will definately be off [censored].

the game will probably be telecasted on free to air as theres a game in the west that will probaly get the foxtel run..

I live in Brisbane and will sitting in the members watchin Liam jurrah put on a clinic....

From the AFL website

if you live elsewhere and are watching this game........... who cares!!!! ;-)

I Don't think Rudeboy is a Melbourne supporter, just a Liam Jurrah fan, unless I'm mistaken I thought he was a pies fan.

I could be wrong though.

correct on one thing, i think he WAS a pies fan!

They should have it on at your departure gate; mind you, because it's on Foxtel - they probably won't.

If they don't, you could insist they better change the channel! :D

Other than that, perhaps the Medallion Bar or Olympian Bar? - I think it's called. They usually have sport on.

In answer to the threads question:

You put your feet up on the sofa, have refreshments ready. Make sure there is no interruptions. Have snacks ready too. Try and relax, because there could be a few things that cause frustration. :P

But if you don't have Foxtel, find a suitable establishment that does. Ie Leighoak or Bentlieigh Club as others have suggested.

A Mate Has Just Bought a HUGE LCD so we will get Trolleyed & then hit the clubs to drown the Sorrows.

Do we have to wear another Crap Jumper. I can't cope with this Clash Jumper [censored] much longer!

I would have thought that our regular strip would be fine. But we've worn an alternate strip in each interstate game we've played so far this year, so it wouldn't surprise me.

I would of thought the white strip. I would prefer the traditional guernsey

have a bit of a theory that it doesn't matter what the noun is, put -ed on the end and it because an adjective to describe being really drunk!

Could try the Irish pub at the airport, pretty sure they have fox

pj o'briens should have it on.

if you are flying virgin, then try their flight lounge for a couple of hours for 30 bucks.... drink all their premium beverages, dips and spreads and then arrive just in time for your flight!!

Good local pubs with footy. The Daulton Bar in St Kilda, The Elsternwick in you know where, also the Cricketers Arms Hotel at the bottom of Clarendon st is a ripping little pub and the owner is a mad Weagles fan.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
