Robbo being interviewed on Fox Sports News

Interesting, I wonder if he was meant to let that out or not.

It's been all over the net in the past 24 hours so I think it's a badly kept secret at best. Robbo indicated that LJ was a bit of freakish and that he was looking forward to see what he could do. I suspect that he'll "outRobbo" Robbo!

He also said that the team had a short break and appreciated it. They also got involved in some bonding type activities. They had a bit of fun with hypnotherapy. Aussie went under and thought he was a soldier.

Robbo said the club was disappointed with the QB game which put the club into a spotlight because "we were so insipid" but it was unfair how some people said it should be taken away. It was one really poor performance after several improved efforts and people give us a break.

He admitted that only 1 win was not what the team had hoped for and it was necessary for the whole group to start believing in itself.

Dean Bailey is still very upbeat. He understands he has a young team but also that we need to win games. We have standards but we let things slip and we'll be out to make amends. On Friday need to set the standards at the start. We need to be switched on right from the beginning and we have a chance to win. At this point he let out the news about Liam Jurrah.

did he make any arrogant comments like he did before the collingwood game? i remember reading 'i was only dropped for one week because i am a required senior player' and 'it wasn't a big issue, just a couple of little things to work on, i did my week so i'll be back now no worries'.

i lost a lot of respect for him when i read that...

Ok, maybe not arrogant, but comments like that are misguided and delusional, if he in fact made them.

Comments like that would indicate a misunderstanding of why he was dropped & what was required of him in the future.

It would also indicate his opinion of self-importance to the team is wide of the mark.

That's my interpretation anyway.

Yer i see the way deanox wrote it and if it was word for word which i dont no and i were to read it and have no knowledge on robbo i probably would think it could be a bit arrogant. But ive watched robbo his whole career and no him for better and to me he is definitely not an arrogant person.

carn dees, dont get me wrong, he has my full support when he is out there, and i think he is a pretty good player, who has been forced to play out of position most of his career, and i think if playing alongside 2 talls would have kicked even more goals and been even more appreciated. i know he bleeds for the club, he is definitely a true demon, however when i saw this interview i really sat back and thought 'wait a sec, thats not right'. he should have been saying 'yeah i stuffed up last week didnt i? but i went back to casey and worked really hard, hopefully it was enough to get me a game this week. sub-par performances like that aren't tolerated.' for a senior player he said the wrong things.

that being said, i cant find anything in an article, so it must have been footage i saw. and perhaps i have taken it out of context slightly, or blown it up worse than it was, but that what and how i remembered hearing it.

if anyone else saw the interview and know how to get it, can they post a link please?

I read that stuff and thought it was just someone trying to save some self-esteem.

Might seem arrogant but I think he needs a lot of positive reinforcement to be confident in himself.

I have always thought the Robbo despite best intentions and his love of a microphone comes across as naive and inept in handling issues regarding selection and team issues. I have heard him interviewed a number of times and his answers and views have sometimes left interviewers short of words and quizzical on his responses. I am sure he speaks what he believes is true. However its a concerning view at times and evidences why he is not more a leader at the Club.

I'm in the same boat on this one.

I think he just doesn't quite get it, but he gets it enough to be a good player at times...

In another life he could've been another Colin Sylvia (before the improvement this season)

As bad as the team is going at the moment, how exciting are the next 11 weeks going to be watching our future running around. Watts, Jurrah, Cheney, Bennell, Jetta, Martin

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
