I/C From: R.Petterd, A.Maric, N.Jones, J.Bennell, M.Jamar, K.Cheney, C.Bartram

normally benches are cut and dry (at least in our case recently) ... not the case this time. you could make a case for all of them.

jamar may not be ready.

petterd and maric going for the same spot. jones should be a certainty, as should bennell.

for me: petterd, jones, bennell and bartram/jamar depending on how important they view the tagging vs 2nd ruckman role.

our depth is slowly improving. i know we're 16th at 1-7 but things are improving slowly but surely.

As much as I want Cheny to play my interchange would be Petterd, Jones, Maric & Bennell.

Harsh on Valenti, he really needs 4 or 5 games in a row and Jamar to get a run with Casey.

What's with Jones being named on the interchange almost every week?

Valenti butchered the ball last week a few times, maybe a little harsh, but that's football.

I reckon the starting line up might line up that way.

I don't think he's been 'Dropped', as such. More that he's been sent back as others have been, due to the return of more senior players taking back their places. [Automatic Returns].

'Sent back' or 'Dropped', which ever way you want to put it. I guess you might say then that Dunn has been sent back too. I'd say he's been replaced or dropped.

edit:

With Taylor & Campbell both playing, Jamar might get the nod. Cheney & Bartram or Petterd out?

Poor old Valenti. And BRFE is right, some double-talk from DB there.

IN - Green, Rivers, Frawley

OUT - Dunn, Valenti, Batram

Would give Jamar another run with Casey, and Cheney doesn't deserve to be dropped (he's in my SC team too).

So that is a bench of: Petterd, Maric, Cheney, Jones.

BTW, really makes you think how quickly Frawley has come on, straight back in after injury. He's a competitor for the Bluey, there's no doubt about it.

Good ins.

MY preferred bench:

I/C From: R.Petterd, A.Maric, N.Jones, J.Bennell/K Cheney

Raffle off the last spot to Bennell or Cheney. I can't decide.

Play Petterd off half back and chuck Grimes into the midfield.

Maric did the same with his first game this year. I just think it's harsh because it's difficult for a player to get any sort of consistency happening when he's only given the odd game here and there.

That's rubbish that the match committee would make a final decision on just one game, if they did that then Maric would never play again.

Might not be a final decision Jarka. Maybe Interim decision.

How tall is he?

Maric is a much better kick than Valenti.

We have Moloney, McLean & Jones to do the grunt work. Valenti was on the outer, he had to go back to Casey.

Rubbish.

I would like to see on the bench Petterd, Maric, Jones and Bennell but I just can't see it happening.

It's not a 'final' decision CB. Hence the word 'might'. I'm not writing Valenti off.

I wasn't for Valenti being promoted, but I am for giving him a decent go when he gets put in (like every other young player has gotten in the past)

Too many big guns coming back for Valenti to stay. Them's the breaks.

maric is starting to show some positives - that is what happens when there is no pressure on you to try so hard you fluff everything you do.

valenti was alright last weeekdn but is no match for the ins - green is a club leader, frawley is a key back or very important to the team structure and jamar, well we need a second ruckman.... hightower is serviceable - in fact last week he was very good.. amazing what a touch of confidence can do!!!

the rivers in is huge too........

our backline is starting to take shape and well, gives us something on which to build the rest of the team!!

I respect Valenti and what he's achieved. He's a good footballer.

But Moloney, Jones and McLean are bigger and better. Tough luck.

I don't care if Dean Bailey appears to have gone back on his word or not. Can anyone actually argue that the named team would be better for Valenti's presence? I sure can't.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
