I didn't know this before but I heard on the radio earlier today that the Dickmond player , Rance ,who crashed head first into the Loins' Selwood on the weekend ,with disastrous consequences , was the same player to help cause Brad Green's broken jaw earlier this year .

No. Just part of the game.

Both incidents were accidental and we shouldn't wish the kid bad.

You're probably right , but it's ironic just the same .

Rance shows no fear and runs straight at the ball with his head down. Credit to him its certainly brave but he may just have to watch it in future. 2 facial injuries in a handful of games isnt a good start.

I wouldn't have thought so, he just hurls himself at the ball - a trait that is usually loudly applauded.......

Green hit his shoulder, after doing the same thing more or less, and came off second best and that was unfortunate but no-ones fault

The Rance-Selwood hit was awful to watch and Alex has suffered the consequences this time, maybe that's ironic, but personally I hope he makes a full recovery.

And I also hope that he doesn't change being a gutsy courageous player, just maybe with a few less casualties!!!

True, but I don't think Rance was injured in the Green hit though........

Poor Brad was the only one who wore the full brunt of that one unfortunately.

I wouldn't have thought so. Both Rance and Green had eyes for the ball. It was hardly intentional on Rances part. Could have easily been injured by Green as Green was by him.

I hope the kid makes a fully recovery and is back throwing himself at the contest once again. He's definately one of very few Tigers worth watching.

Just another example of some incredible stupidity from a kid who was never taught not to lead with his head. Once again we see the results of the AFL's attempt to protect players' heads. More head injuries.

I like that

I does make me wonder what the "right" frame of mind would be in a competition sport where people try to out do each other, not talking about the collisions here, just the frame of mind that it takes to beat an opponent. Prime example is in cricket where players hugely celebrate the dismissal of an opposition player

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.     Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9.
