gr8 to see both Bennell and Jetta being played again.

Although i have been a knocker of Newton in the past, seeing his name in our forward line looks so much better on paper- At least there is a target.

I know the positions they have been named dont mean anything but i hope bailey swaps Dunn and Moloney.

Final bench-

Jones, Maric ( his bday on sat), PJ, Petterd

I think we are a chance this week :)

Great to see Jetta is playin Back Pocket this week:O!!! People may bag me, but im kinda exciting to see how Newton is gonna go on Sunday! Hopefully he gets a good run and earns his place in the forward line! This really should be his make or break season for Juice. Maric shouldn't even be named on the bench. Should be in the starting 18. PJ should have a run in the 2's and also Cheney. Also keen to see the progress of Bennell!!

Bartram or Cheney will play, otherwise no taggers. Bartram has played well so far this year with hard tasks (Harvey, Davis) so wouldn't be dropped on form, and not likely to be dropped on match ups (Brown, Foley).

Cheney hasn't done anything wrong either, but could prob use a week back at Casey to practice what he has learnt.

I'd expect to see bench as Bartram, Petterd, Maric and Johnson.

UPDATE: Bench is Bartrtam, Petterd, Jones and Johnson. You heard it here first.

i for one hope bartram is one who misses out.

Dont care about taggers, its the tigers. I would rather 22 people run out who can all have an impact offensively.

As much as it hurts me to say Dunn can tag if need be but at least he can do something else than run with a player to hurt the opposition the other way.

Congrats to big Meeson 2nd game in a row. Well deserved and cant wait to see how he goes against Simmonds

Things are really looking up for the Toigs....

Don't know if anyone's been to training this week but I'd be surprised if Moloney plays.

If Maric doesn't play it would be a crime.

At least Newton didn't disgrace himself last week - he didn't play at all!

Haha JUCIE!!!! Named in the starting 18 so definately playing....

Id like the bench to be Jones, Spencer, Maric, Cheney/Petterd

I completely missed that.

I guess I've learnt to shield myself from all things Newton-related by simply ignoring the fact that he exists.

However with the sad realisation that Juice is apparently an automatic starter at Melbourne, I will now go and shed a little tear and say a little pray for Jack Watts (may he kick 25 goals on Saturday and leave us with no choice but to play him on Sunday in a last-minute change to the line-up).

No Jones?

Well I'd take Jones over Brock at the moment, and Moloney (if fit) over both.

Petterd may take a miss, but I can't find a good reason to do so.

And while I nearly always agree with Mousey, a tagger is required to stop someone like Brown tearing the game apart.

*Sigh* Its at matchup time when I realise how much we'll miss Garland for his versatility in that he could play on someone as big as Richo or as small as Brown

I'd guess Rivers will take Reiwoldt for his ability to lead up the ground, and Martin will get Morton closer to the square leaving Warnock to again follow Richo wherever he goes. Frawley would be left to match up on Brown by default almost.

I'd love for Rivers to play on Richo, because not only can Rivers defend, but I trust that when he gets the ball he'll actually use it in a productive, meaningful way that will advantage our forwards.

I can't see anyone else playing on Richo and being able to both successfully shut him down and make an impact on the game.

Maybe Dunn could pick up Matthew Richardson out on the wing.

Keep the defence 'in tact' as much as possible.

How can Newton and Jetta be emergencies if they have been named on the ground?

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
