We need to watch Lade and brogan. Considering what McIntosh and Fraser have done to us in the first two rounds. We cannot let this happen for the 3rd time in a row. I predict a even first half then the power will put on the pedal in the 3rd and run away with it in the last. If we are even in the first half, we have to make sure we mantain even for the rest of the match to give ourselves a chance.

With such a young list and a lot of new players, what are your expectations for the game against Port on Sunday? Everyone is expecting us to get beat by 10+goals, but i find it hard to think that losing by less 10 goals can be an achievement. For me i want to see a competitive 4 qtr match. Against Kangaroos we were for 3 qrts and against the scum we were for a half. This week i would like us to stick with our opponents for the whole match!! No more getting outscored 7 goals to 1 in a quarter! Also kicking more than 10 goals would be nice, but then again beggars cant be choosers:p!

Port on rebound after thrashing last week could be 80+ points

Dean Cox dominated the rucks today for WCE getting more than 20 disposals and more than 20 hit outs and his team nearly lost by 100 points.

A one man effort doesn`t win a game of football.

However if the whole team are playing well, then that one man effort can be a match winner

My expectations are simply that the boys play is entertaining. IN that I mean that they have a real dip, putting the body on the line when it's their turn, do the team things, one percenters, not overuse the pill, stay composed, & use the ball with thought. More progress for us success starved supporters.

When you are as young and raw as we are, you have to be process driven; break even in contested possies, clearances, and tackles.

If they do that I'll be happy. They have more polish and will probably win but it will augur well when we have more developed bodies and a forward line.

No wonder we're viewed as push overs if we should set a 4 goal loss as an aim for the club

Given our record at AAMI and our crap list, I see a 4 goal loss as an excellent result.

I don't believe Bailey or the players have any expectation of winning - that's just my opinion.

more goals but more importantly play like the players did much like the essendon players did last night by taking the game on and each player going head to head with their direct opponent and having a red hot go!!

And as ridiculous as it is you're entitled to it.

Robert Flower played 272 games. He played in 1981 when we won one game. He played in arguably the worst era through the 70's and 80's that this club has ever had, but he said recently that there was never an occasion when he ran onto the ground that he didn't expect to win.

I'm sure they know the challenge before them, but I'm equally certain that every player and coach expects to win. They shouldn't be at the club if they don't.

My expectations are to have a few beverages and watch an improving Melbourne side play football.....

Win, Lose or Draw that is what I will be doing.....

If we happen to come away with a win though.... Holy [censored].... Thank god we have tomorrow off!!!!

Go Dees!

I want Dunn to shut Chad Cornes.

my expectations is our 1st WIn for the season... nothing less than that !!!!

I reckon they should give Dunn a run in the forward line for some of the game and see if he can kick a couple of goals.

That`s where he played at the start of his career. Dunn has some versatility. He can be used in the midfield and defence for shut down roles, and can be used in the forward line. Has the ability to become an A grade player, but still has to prove it.

has an eternity to become an A grade player of the ilk of a Judd or Ablett or Hodge you will be waiting quite a while.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
