pringle 56 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 1/2 time, game 1 of the season. I think nearly a foregone conclusion. Can't see them turning this around. Skills still diabolical after 5 years of rebuilding. Most over-rated coach in the AFL. I was actually hoping they would do well, but I'm bitterly disappointed by this effort. 5 Ben Cousins' wouldn't make any difference.
Kiss of Death 772 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Haha, a Sack The Coach thread within half a game of footy!
Salems Lot 2,692 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I can hear the sound of tiger membership cards being torn up in disgust already, nothing funnier than an outraged Richmond fan
drdrake 3,203 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 reminds me of round 1 2007 St Kilda V Melb all the hype but we turned to rubbish.

Skills still diabolical after 5 years of rebuilding. Most over-rated coach in the AFL. I was actually hoping they would do well, but I'm bitterly disappointed by this effort. 5 Ben Cousins' wouldn't make any difference. 11 first half goals to Carltank from Tiger errors and turnovers. This is a record. Don't blame the Coach when senior players can't kick 20 meters to a team mate and drop basic marks. They have been pathetic so far yet that is clearly not their true form. If it is then he is gone.
Tony Tea 2,816 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I live near Punt Road oval and I can see the pooh truck pulling in the drive. It's the "Tigers of old" alright.
don cordner 204 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 one reason i Hate NINTHMOND BROWN.. so while he plays for them i hope it all goes bad. Brown is a too cocky and up himself. he's a not as good as he thinks he is!!!!!
Neita3000 37 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Wouldn't have minded Mitch Robinson at pick 35. Bennell looks a gem though. Richmond are terrible. There list is easily the worst in the AFL. 6 key players over the age of 30 there going to have to rebuild again.
pringle 56 Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Geelong, Bulldogs next 2 rounds... Good luck Tezza.

Coach has had 5 years to put a list together and teach them skills Redleg. Who else to blame???
dee-luded 2,959 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 reminds me of round 1 2007 St Kilda V Melb all the hype but we turned to rubbish. YES, that was my confirmation that we were indeed in real trouble & that things had to change & rebuild.
Neita3000 37 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Chris Johnson is having a shocking game. Morton is killing him.

I was actually hoping they would do well, but I'm bitterly disappointed by this effort. 5 Ben Cousins' wouldn't make any difference. Wasn't thinking that before the game, but I haven't really watched opposition teams over the last few years because we've been going so bad, I just was sick of footy, except for 2 dees games a week & the occaisional TAC cup state game. If Wallace is to be let go after this season, then I'd do it Mid season telling him we won't renew your contract. Whilst doing this I'd be well on the way to interveiwing other candidates with a veiw of hiring them for the 2nd half of 2009 so to give the new coach a head start into the list assessment & drafting period. The Tiges are going backwards with poor foot skills & an apparent lack of structure.
Demon Disciple 12,543 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Geelong, Bulldogs next 2 rounds... Good luck Tezza. then they face the juggernaut in round 4
Jaded No More 68,976 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Ugh, not only are they terrible, but they are letting the scum from Carlton smash them. Same old Richmond really, their best players in Richo and Brown are getting none of it because their midfield is crap, and their backline is so bad our forwards might even kick 100 against them. Now poor Benny has gone and done a hammy. Oh dear!
Eastie Boyz 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Blame the Richmond staff for that one. Shouldn't have gone back on after 3/4 time
Rhino Richards 1,467 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 11 first half goals to Carltank from Tiger errors and turnovers. This is a record. After 5 years Redleg, the Coach and the player concerned are accountable. Their medical staff deserve a huge spray for letting Cousins back on in the last quarter. Ping...hamstring gone and now gone for a 3 to 4 weeks. Oh dear. Richmond are terrible. There list is easily the worst in the AFL. Not doing yourself any favours with that assessment.
bjgc 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Sheedy will be coach after RND4 when they are 0-4.
rusty_kingswood 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I have changed my 2009 MFC prediction. Instead of 5-6 wins, it will be something like 7-8 wins. We play Richmond twice! Go Dees
Kiss of Death 772 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Yeup..... from draft day, i picked a hammy in the comeback game, i should have put cash on it. Not that i'd wish that on anybody, i just had a feeling that it would happen.
Neita3000 37 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Not doing yourself any favours with that assessment. Why not? Richmond's list in terms of personal might not seem that bad, but they'll never win a premiship as it is to uneven. Basically there older players are going to be gone before there younger brigade e.g. Cotchin, Delidio and co come through. Melbourne is much closer to winning a premiship than Richmond, thus they have the worse team in the league.
fiddledeedee 4 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Thank you Richmond for taking the heat off us.
mauriesy 7,445 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I hope all those who were gunning for us to pick up Ben Cousins watched the final quarter with hindsight.
Eastie Boyz 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I hope all those who were gunning for us to pick up Ben Cousins watched the final quarter with hindsight. That despite all the injury problems Melbourne have had at least you don't have Richmond's medicos?
two sheds jackson 3 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I think Neita and Rhino are both right. If you had to say which team -Richmond or Melbourne- had a better chance of winning the premiership in 2009, you'd go with Richmond. But neither have a realistic chance, and in a few years time all of Richmond's key players will be gone with no clear replacements in sight (not saying they dont have some good kids, but they dont have ready replacements for Richo, Brown etc), while Melbourne at least have a core group of players coming through at about the same time. Richmond arent the worst side in the AFL right now, but their list is probably in the worst shape.
