Second Major Sponsor is...

I actually have quite a bit to do with both Andrew Mamonitis and to a lesser extent Pavel Torudd through Kaspersky Labs here in Melbourne.

I can tell you that they initially were vying for the major sponsorship role back in December 2008 but held off at the time due to the climate caused by the fall of the Global Economy.

Currently, there's speculation that Kaspersky on the back of their $4.8 million dollars over 3 years are also looking to join forces with an A-League Club (probably Perth Glory at this stage) and I can state right now that Melbourne FC memberships will rise given Kaspersky's presence globally - they are rapidly growing in what little markets they don't yet dominate.

They are currently designing systems to implement into the heath industry with Cabrini Hospital being the first medical facillity in Australia to use Kaspersky Labs systems.

Andrew is a top bloke also, loves a laugh and a beer and ill be enjoying his corporate box while he's away in China for the larger part of 2009

Both will be here for the round 1 clash vs. Nth - and I can tell you that there will be a rather huge do in Round 11 for the Queens Birthday clash, don't be suprised to hear about many more heavy hitters from Kaspersky being at the game.

It really is great news for Melbourne.

Dr JeKyl,

Do you really know Andrew???? Cause I have never seen him drink a beer in his life....If u had have said a Chivas then I would have thought u were on the money. Corporate box...didn't know he or Kasperky were entitled to one either....more like tickets to the Presidents Lunch for home games.

Not sure he is a top bloke either......haha....sorry Knackers (can't give family a big head). But awesome effort!!!

I don't post on this site very often. But I read often.

What a regrettably pathetic post - mixing with the kids are you, [censored]?

Well done, Hazy and well done Fan.

Absolutely Jack, great write.

Hazy, I think you've argued your point very well and I can understand why you would want to defend yourself in the attacks of often misguided criciticism (I never said you didn't love the club or anything like that).

To those arguing against Hazy, claiming that he's trying to bring the club down or anything like that, aren't you doing the exact same thing by continually attacking a fellow Melbourne fan?

This issue has been solved now, there's no point going on about it until the next round of sponsorships are up, so we may as well look at the positives now which Jack has laid out for us.

We're moving in a positive direction, I really do believe this, can't we just stop trying to point score off one another. As our President pointed out, this club will be saved by its members, not by a cruisader. Move on everyone - it's not achieving anything

Go Dees

Quite frankly...the fact that we have a healthy sponsorship locked in for the next three years is just about the best news the MFC has had since the goal umpire signalled goal after Froggy Crompton's kick in 1964.

I think its a bit sad that Hazy has found it necessary to perform micro calculations on starting dates to defend his earlier criticisms of the current Board. The Board's determination to hang on - and to insist that a sponsorship would be in place by Round One has been vindicated - full stop. The fact that it was the initiative of a supporter that got the deal to the table is beside the point.A week ago Hazy had good reason to worry - and to ask questions. ..... all of a sudden the world has changed.

I look forward to watching the Board operate now that it has something to work with

Thankyou Andrew Mamonitis

Go Jimmy

That's better than your BS story about having a bull terrier named Hanna or some such carp explaining your inability to spell your own name.

Unlike you friend, I tell no lies.

There is a delicious irony to this post, anybody else spot it?

Mental note: If you're going to have a go at someone over spelling you better proof read your own posts...

Derrrr! "Carp" is widely used to circumvert net nannies, avoid breach of "language rules" etc. You're going to have to try harder than that.

That would be "you had better proof read...". Happy to be of assistance.

This is not the time to be talking of lost revenue in sponsorship.

Onwards and upwards. Hazy, I see what you're saying, but until the next sponsorship drive you'll just have to move on. Otherwise you'll just sound sour.

What's done is done, it is now time to face the future - a pretty bright future at that with the steps we've taken in the past 9 months.

Go Dees!

Totally agree. Time to move on and up with the Dees and current board and administration. Go Dees!

Its great that sponsors just seem to keep rolling in. Especially now that we have already got the assistance from the AFL. Maybe its a good omen that we were a little late with sponsors. The AFL might not of handed over quite so much?? All good news I think.

So we're $31,620 worse off.

Like I said, not a huge amount, but worse off nevertheless. Now how about you show me your maths?

Do you think the new Betezy sponsorship would be worth $31,620 ?

Good news, huh ;)

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
