A Supercoach question

Grimes easily.

You've gotta go a possession winner over a tall defender. Warnock might be an OK player, but he's certainly not going to be great for Supercoach.

Grimes is silky and gets the footy, meaning high efficency which equals good point scoring

you have all missed one as well. Pettard is in the backline and cheep. Very good value for mine as he will play a lot wing/HF and looks the goods this year if he stays fit. IMHO pettard/grimes is better value and should be a better net return then the garland/warnok pair purely from being spoilers v midfielders!

What other dees players are people considering? I have Grimesy down back already and Spencer as a 4th ruck (I figure he will be playing by years end and at 83k it's all you need to spend on a 4th ruck).

The only other dee im considering is Morton as a 5th midfield option his kicking hurts his efficiency from time to time but he does kick goals and knows how to find the footy, I hope his teammates will actually see him waving his arms around in plenty of space out on the wings this year then he'll rack up even more possies.

Apart from those three I can't really see myself taking the risk on anyone else at this stage... maybe Benell, Jetta or Bail as a rookie Midfield emergency but there are probably better options.

I considered Ricky P but he's a big risk with injuries the blokes just to courageous (if that's possible) throwing himself into every contest means he'll prob be injured 50% of the year, hope that's not the case though.

No doubt I will make many more changes as r1 gets closer. So far I have had Morton and Sylvia and then removed them, considered Green (still not sure) and have added Grimes and Cheney (emer) to the defence. I am more likely to keep tabs on Melbourne players more than opposition so even though I don't have many Dees in the starting 22, my emergencies are littered with red and blue. I have both Meesen and Spencer as ruck emergencies on the basis that one of them quite simply is guaranteed to play. I have both Benell and Jetta as midfield emergencies on a similar rationale although this is no where as water tight.

I would be interested to hear other people's strategies, ie are you going all out best 22 for that one lucky week they are all in or for a good over all squad to cover injuries and focus on the whole season.

Also I have not played this before, can someone please explain the full benefit of having players that rise in value. My understanding is that if they are worth more then you have more to trade with but why would you trade if they are going so well anyway - I am obviously missing something here.

Injuries/Age. If you can pick the time to off load a young player that is about to be rested for several weeks or a player who gets injured and then say Watts starts playing you may gain 100k from the other bloke and you can upgrade another established player that is not performing to a star that is. if you can pick a couple of rookie's that avg's close to 100pts/game and play 20+ games your set!

bugger, 1 game in and already 1 player short. Grant for the doggies and sidebottom for the filth both not picked for rnd 1. leaving 1 emg (schonmakers) to come in. Not a good start!

Need a good rookie that will play rd 2 in the forward line and has to be under 100k if sidebottom and grant don't get a gig.

Hope you all got on Mitch Robinson.

94k and just scored 109 SC points. Luckily, I had him as an emergency for Sylvia...

Shattered I had him on the bench

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
