turned into quite a good game in the final quarter! Our half dozen hail mary kicks to one of the 1 or 2 loose men in the swans backline could have made the difference, our backline is starting to gel quite well in my opinion. Oh well, at least i don't have to listen to another barry hall chant, but a snap that rolled across the face could have made it very interesting indeed!

We lost by 8 points?

Not sure of the final score but it is over. Sylvia, Bail and Bruce our best. McLean and Green were benched for the majority of the second half, hopefully they aren't injured.

Bell may have a leg injury, not sure. I think it was an 8 point loss.

If McLean and Green weren't on the ground for most of the second half (probably 2 of our best last week, and IMO our most important players bar Rivers), then that makes the last quarter even more impressive - even if we didn't get up.

Am looking forward to some reports coming through.

Just got home. Grimes for mine was BOG by a mile. Sylvia was quiet in first but strong in last three quarters. Promising first up performances by Jetta and Bennel. Bail had alot of ball late (when subbed on) but turned it over numerous times. Strauss used it well when had it but was timid at the contest a few times. Our backline overall was outstanding. Major concerns we were smashed in the clearances after qtr time and our forwardline was completely disfunctional. Our only decent forward was Miller who has no confidence in his goal kicking. Newton's effort was improved but he is just not an AFL footballer. Considering the strength of the Sydney side on display and knowing the players to come back in to our side I left the ground content with the display but wondering how we will kick winning scores this year.

    After a very wasteful first half of footy the Demons ended up cruising to a clinical victory over the Saints by 38 points at the MCG and ultimately reclaimed a coveted spot in the Top 4.
