Everyone seems to be getting stuck into him on here, people need to realise he is only 17, i watched him at training the other day on wednesday and he didnt look out of place, there isnt much of him, but it didnt really seem to affect him, he is also very quick and his kicking is also very good. He will take time but it will be worth the wait. also a really nice fella spoke to myself and my son for about 15 minutes after training. GO DEES!!

Good call, I don't think people are really having a go at him, but it's always good to be reminded to keep a close eye on the things you write on here, and to keep it all in perspective.

I do find it amusing how quickly some people want some players to progress, I don't know how footy fans felt about players 40 years ago, but I'm almost certain it wasn't nearly as impatient as it is now (a reflection on many parts of modern life I suppose)

Maybe also the speed of the game itself. Supporters are more informed (if not more aware ;)) of the unique and demanding athletic/power requirements of the players and their roles in the modern game. A-typical, particularly physical, glares. That said I agree with your sentiment Wooders. His general abilities look very solid, his fine skills easy on the eyes, and he's thus far proven to be a hard working winner. Though IMO he'll need a little protection before he fills out stepping up to AFL.

Excellent to hear that yet another young Demon recruit has the time and the ability to speak (well - for the club) with fans / the AFL community.

Bumped into him tonight at Eastland actually.

Reckon whoever measured him at 183cm got it wrong, don't think he's quite that tall. He's a bit bigger across the chest than what I expected but he's still very much just a kid.

The friend I was with seemed to know him pretty well and he seemed nice enough. Has been going for runs every night too which is good to hear from a committment perspective. My mate did say though that he could sometimes be a bit too nice (ie lack killer instinct) and seemed a bit 'soft' (I really do hate that word) but wouldn't put him anywhere near the Fiora category.

There is more pressure on players to play senior footy earlier these days because clubs are restricted to 40 players plus rookies .

40 years ago there were no restrictions , and clubs had firsts , seconds , thirds , and fourths . Plenty of players on the lists .

Also , if they don't perform in 2 or 3 years they have to go to make room for draft players . A sign of the times .

Having said that , we need to give our young players as much time as possible to do their stuff . We have some top prospects there now , but they will need a bit of time .

What a strange thead??

Fact - Due to body size and schooling commitments he will be unlikely to play a game for us this year. If he does it will be late in the year like maric.

I have not seen 1 person say anything bad about blease, quite the opporsite acutally. Try reading "Blease & Strauss are CRITICAL to the Club's improvement" The title tells the story. Pls correct me if I am wrong and don't quote comments about his light frame and age because that is a given.

Thinking that myself.

Likewise. I haven't been around much, but if people are getting stuck in to Blease already then that's absolutely pathetic.

And here I was thinking it was just me who felt a little confused in here.....

Glad I'm not alone, cheers Nash!!!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
