I am like many of you, I want Brock as captain, he is my favourite player, but as I watch the start of this video (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=lA110Y3TS2Y&feature=related)

I realise, Brock as good as he is, he doesn’t lead (at the moment) by example, unlike Brad. As an example, how many times have we seen Brad go back with the flight and take a mark, one of the hardest things to do in footy. Yes Brock will be captain (at some stage) but I see Brad leading by example. Brock will win our B@F (if he isn’t injured) and he will is most likely to win a brownlow one day.

Is this a joke? Were you at Melb v St Kilda elimination Final or Melb V Bris when he played with a broken foot? 2 of the finest examples of a footballer leading by example, not to mention the $10,000 he chipped in.

 I find that hard to believe. "He doesn't lead by example" on the field? Brock? Did you watch his games this season?

I've never seen McLean play half back flank thus having the oppurtunity to run back with the flight.

All you've proved is that you have a severe lack of football knowledge yourself. Nothing more.

Congratulations.

Did you mean that he doesn't get on the park enough? The guy screams leadership...

That said, if the club chooses it's too early (and I'd defer to the club on this as they would know a LOT more about this than me), AND if they decide a caretaker captain is the way to go, then I would have liked to have seen Green get the job. On that much I can go with you.

Won't happen of course, but we can wish.

Bruce will be captain the [censored] leading teams voting system will make sure of that. If the club wants to show the supporters that they will truely go the way of a youth lead revival instead of being forced to they will go for McLean but they won't they will go for the safe option and that is Bruce.

Dont think the post called for a barrage of attack but thats just Demonland suppose.

Personally, I wouldn't be at all disappointed if Green was given the job. He is a fine leaser on and off the field. And you are right, his attack on the ball and fearlessness along the back looks great on the resume.

Green playing out his days as captain with Brock and Miller VC's would be a great way forward in my opinion.

the first post gets attacked because there are alot of other threads regarding this issue that it could have been posted in.

And to say that Brock doesn't lead by example? well everyone is entilted to there opinion, but mine is very different.

Yes this topic has certainly been exhausted.

Dare I bring this up yet again, but, Brocks leadership off the field is still questionable IMO.

What you dont have to play half back flank to run back with the flight.

So is the leadership of any demon player

Brocky needs another season or two developing his own game.

The player who steps up under pressure - and sets an example in the tough going is Green . He makes good decesions and puts his body on the line

Brucey makes too many errors .. and Macca is just past his best

I'm not confident that they'll give it too him- but I reckon if I was a young player Green 'd be the one I'd want to follow

I really believe any of:

Bruce, Green, Brock, Miller, Jnr would serve us well in 2009 as captain. I am dead against co-captains so hopefully a single choice can be made from that group. Moving forward Brock has to be the best long term option, therefore I think it is very likely he will get the job.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
