Agree with that. IMO Jamar currently has the "#1 ruck" mantle by default.

I'd lean towards this assessment of our Rucks. Let's hope Jamar can continue to improve in leaps and bounds, and really take that No.1 mantle by the scruff of the neck.

So you agree that Jamar's our #1 ruck? ;)

Prismall anyone?

i think i would trade 18 or 19 for prismal. if we got him and warnock in the draft, and had players on the park next year we would be a much different unit than this year.

we're not going to win the GF next year, but if we get mclean, moloney, davey back in the current midfield and add prismal (that is your 4 main mids for the club. add another ruckman. add a tall forward. add the experience the kids gained this year, and the skills and strength they gain over summer. we will be a bit more competitive.

I agree with you deanox. You would assume that Geelong would jump at that deal considering their position on the ladder (barring another club offerring their first-round pick which I don't think will happen), and Prismall looks like a genuinely talented and hardworking midfielder.

There's a lot of hype about Prismall, based on the fact that he racks up touches in the VFL, whilst being kept out of a very good side by a lack of opportunity, or is it that he's just not as good as everyone thinks.? There's some queries on his disposal. Pick 17 or 19 might be too high considering this years draft.

Whilst I agree and it all sounds good in theory, I would be surprised if Prismall was squeezed out to trade by Geelong, but it is possible. Because they would see a draft full of depth, and 19 would raise a few eyebrows down at Geelong. I was keen on him this time last year actually. Now he has way more value baggage.

What about a player for Prismall. Could that be an option? Then again we might not have anything they would want.

Why would you throw away a draft pick for a player type that we have in abundance. Mclean, Jones, Moloney, Valenti and Frank all play in a similar mould.

What Grazman said. Good player but not worthwhile trading for.

I've seen all his games this year.. and guess what? HIS NOT THAT FRICKEN GOOD!!! He fumbles the ball, doesn't take a strong mark, and his diposal very average. He can stick his $1m up his arse as far as i'm concerned. And if people think his going to be our answer to 10 years of rucking.. boy you got another thing coming!! He'll be another Meesen.

Trust me, he is ALOT better than Meesen.

He is not worth that much. He knows it, we know it, Freo knows it. As someone else said, they are building up his worth. Much like we are doing now with Jeff and playing him out for the season, they know he wants to go, and are going to push it as high as they can. They wont get it. Freo will be expoased pretty shortly.

Sometimes it's easy to look good in a good side, particularly when you don't get much attention from the opposition.

How quick is Prismall? Is he going to offer something significantly different to the mids that we already have?

Not really that quick - about the same as our mids. He is an accurate long kick, in many ways similar to Brent Moloney.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
