So far the Demonland voting members have decided on the most preferred back 6 defenders for 2009 as: -

BACKS: WHELAN WARNOCK GARLAND

H-BACKS: RIVERS MARTIN C.JOHNSON

(Not necessarily in those positions)

Now give us your Forward Six selections - Good luck!

For the record my starting 6 are: -

FWD: - SYLVIA MILLER WONAEMIRRI

H-FWD: - DAVEY BATE ROBERTSON

All the best.................

I'm not sure how you can gather that from my comment :o

No I gathered that from what I thought was your vote - which was rather quick after i first posted...

I shouldn't assume this...but your secret is safe.....unless you either plan on putting davey on the bench, emergency or are considering trading him?

Forwards:

talls: Miller, Newton, (PJ resting ruck?)

mobiles: Bate, Sylvia, Robbo

Smalls: Wonaeamirri, Davey, Maric

Garland for me, could be the surprise packet. if we continue to develop 4 other key defenders (Martin, Frawley, Rivers and Warnock), it would be well worth giving Garland a go in the forward line. hes so quick, agile and versatile that it could pay off big time...

Love the idea High Tower, just wondering how you plan to manage the problem that certain players can play in several positions - Davey is the best example as in different people's eyes he could be back, forward or mid... which might mean he misses out on all three

Bruce will probably not make your 22 but I imagine most of us would have him in for 2008

Not a criticism just a question :)

Like your thoughts on Garland. Garland did drift down to the forward line against Richmond. Kicked a goal. maybe we might see a bit more of him down there this week, courtesy of Bailey. We could see this next year when Rivers is back in.

The 7th most voted defender on Demonland was in fact Frawley.

Have a vote for the last remaining four spots, and include seven - four on the 'int' and three on the bench.

;) Someone's on the ball...!

Cheers.

Well, Schtaker match committee selectors have tough decisions to make...........so now you guys are in their shoes.

The players that end up missing the interchange or emergencies don't necessarily have to be considered "dee-listed" ;) , just pretend they didn't make your side and they're playing at Sandy, or in next years case Casey!

edit: didn't make sense...

yes but that may still well result in Davey on the bench or emergency when he is clearly best 18

midfield is going to be a tough one which makes me happy

Schtaker, we'll manage it no problem. As long as the votes keep pouring in, it will sort itself out. It may also mean Davey in the starting 18!

For example, the 7th highest voted defender is Frawley, so he might get named on the bench......once the 6 forwards are settled, the midfielders will be done, then the players that miss each section will be pooled and the bench will be voted on out of 7, as Rogue said, the 3 left over will be the emergencies.

Davey Miller Bate

Wona Robbo other

The other being Watts (or whomever we draft as a forward). If he (draftee) is too raw, then put Sylvia there. Newton is gone. Useless IMO

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
