He'll go top 10.

And it will be basically impossibe to trade for a top 10 pick this year.

Unless we want to part with Green or McLean.

I firmly believe we do not need to trade for any more early picks.

4, 14 and 21 last year

Most likely 3 picks in the top 22 this year in what has been touted as possibly the strongest draft ever.

The simple fact is clubs would be loathe to trade any pick in the top 25 becasue of the arrival of Gold Toast.

I'd suggest 3rd round pick for Warnock (either that or they get nothing) and Primsall in the PSD) EASY PEASY!

That's called having your pie and eating it!!

Warnock by the length of Flemington straight.

When was the last time we had a ruckman that tall and athletic?

Never.

I believe he is 206 cms. Thats huge.

No thats called having your pie that ends up on your lap. B)

Have a look at the trade value of ruckman over the past 5 years.

We know Richmond will trade to get another ruckman. Warnock is no gimme for MFC.

If we cant get him in the PSD, I would give either our 2nd round or PP for him.

again ..this is why its SO important to finish as low as poss.. to be able to use the PSD without paying extra in trade picks

Jack Watts at pick 2 or 3 gives us a forward.

Warnock and Prismall to the Dee's as Ruck/Forward and Midfielder. Trade draft pick 20 and other to picked up in PSD for these two. Either order doesnt matter. Still leaves us with pick 19. Would love that!

Possible trades: Carroll if worth anything to Freo for Ryan Murphy.

I'm pretty sure that that was a fair while back. Much water to go under the bridge and I very much doubt that he'll do a Ju$$ and demand Richmond.

I think it was about two weeks ago, when the Essendon v Freo match was on.

Doesn't mean much anyway - as you say, there's plenty of water to go under the bridge.

However, I just thought I'd put it out there.

I would think the priority pick at 18 or 19 or whatever it is might be what Freo might be after. They wouldn't want him to go through to the PSD, they would want something in return.. He's too young for that.

Isn't the PSD predominantly made for "used" players anyway? (Used = having played a number of years, and just about finished with a little left still to offer)

Freo screwed us when they took Farmer

In my opinion they can have our 5th round draft pick for Warnock... otherwise we'll see you in the PSD

Warnock has to agree to be traded to Richmond first.

I think he would prefer to be with his brother @ Melbourne with a young list all heading in the right direction

A 5th round draft pick for a 206cm ruckman with a few games under his belt..............................As Big Brother's motto was.... "I don't think so..." :D

If Warnock wants to go, Fremantle won't have a choice.

You CAN'T trade a player unless he is happy to go.

We hold all the aces, Warnock owes Fremantle nothing, Fremantle were happy to screw us when it came to Farmer.

I think you'll find that clubs are loathe to blatantly screw other clubs over. That's not to say that there won't be bluff and bluster, but we'll want to do a reasonable trade and keep our PSD pick alive, as well as keeping a modicum of goodwill amongst rival clubs.

We received pick 17 for Farmer, which was below odds at the time, but it could've been worse. Geelong got Kelly for that ontraded pick.

I dont want Fevola but just out of curiosity. What do you think Carlton would want in terms of us wanting to trade with them.

I don't think we'd have anything they would want. Perhaps a Miller or Sylvia and second round draft pick? Who Knows

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
