How we can beat Lions..

Tolstoys Nudge

Dream on Nudge.

I don't know about everyone else here, but I've had enough of winning for the moment. If Wet Toast and the Shockers bag another W I might re-appraise the situation, but right now winning is not the best outcome for us. I want competitive efforts but I won't be remotely peeved if we don't get the chocolates.

*Cough*

LMAO...

C'mon mate, its all good, tell me you wre not delighted today?? thats all i was trying 2 say!!

I'm all for winning, and quite frankly as long as we stay under 5 wins i would be quite happy for us to NOT get the wooden spoon. Looking at it, how much of a difference will it make getting the no. 2 draft pick as opposed to no. 1? We (maybe) miss out on getting Naita and instead we get Rich or someone else we think is better, we get No. 2 in the PSD which will still put us in prime possie if Warnock elects to go that way and we don't get the shame of the wooden spoon.

For christ sake it used to be everyone did everything they could to AVOID it! I LIKE WINNING! (Within reason!)

Yes ok Nudge today was great. But I would still have been happy with a fighting loss, and may be happier had the outcome been different, in the long run.

I would have been devastated if we lost yesterday. The umpires interferring throughout the game was very frustrating and it felt great to be able to get over the line in the end. To be able to beat a quality side despite having no Neitz, Robertson or White was very promising.

Completely agree.

I cant help but think those that did not want us to win yesterday, either left early, (and there were a few!) or WERE NOT THERE.

The crowd were instrumental in getting the boys over the line.

To get a win yesterday was great for the MFC.

I almost fell off my chair this morning when i sat down to read the courier mail and there was a whole article as well as a large portion of another article dedicated to how umpiring cost them the match. Bradshaw's out on the full that should of been a point was there main gripe, but there was no mention that they had the rub of the green all day. It stated there was no way they should have lost the game being up by 8pts in the last term...IMO we dominated yesterday and would have iced the game a lot earlier if not for umpiring.

What pleased me more about the match than anything else was it is the first time this season that we have been competitive for the whole game

this is a huge positive for Bailey to build on

winning was a bonus and a just reward the players deserved through a good 4 quarter effort

Our clanger count was still too high but its getting lower

Brisbane had much more to play for which is a statement to all those morons who keep talking about tanking

Nobody told PJ thats for sure as that chase was determination at its best

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
