As i said when i started this thread,we have to get Prismall,we desperately need another 2 top line midfielders.Mclean,Jones,Moloney won't take us far enough and Jmac hasn't got long left.

I disagree about trading Green,he's having his best season for years and looks to have toughened up a bit and winning more hard ball and backing back into packs. We have to keep a mix of experienced players or else we'll just have an under 22 team.Look at Geelong, they have the perfect blend of:

18-23........Selwood,Mackie,Stokes,Prismall,Lonergan,Hawkins

24-27........Ablett,Bartel,Corey,Wojcinski,Enright,Chapman,Kelly,Ling,Johnson

28+..........Scarlett,Harley,Milburn,Mooney,Ottens

You need a blend of experience at the top end while introducing the youth at the bottom end.

If we land Natnui,i would chase another midfielder or KPP rather than go after Warnock. We don't need 2 more Ruckmen.

Natnui,Prismall and Mckinley would the dream scenario for me.

I think I said last year we should go for Prismall. We desperately need another ball winner. I would go for Rooke also, our forwards have been [censored] weak a hard nut like Rooke could only help that. I'm not sold on Warnock I'd prefer Seaby. We will have White and Naita next year who generally aren't strong and Warnock is the same I think we need some variety in the ruck someone stronger. I'd have a look at Hansen too.

Brent Prismall played another great game and had 32 disposals. However he held his spot when Selwood came back in and the Cats look to be giving him more game time,he won't be dropped while he's in this form.

He would complement Brock perfectly with his hard, tough game. He'd be perfect for us.

Shannon Byrnes was forced out with injury, so if he'd been fit it would've been Byrnes vs Prismall for the last spot in the team.

Kane Tenace is just about the 35th best player at geelong.

maybe pick him up pick 110 in the draft, but i wouldn't waste anything else on him

Gee I'm glad we chose Brock over Tenace in the 2003 (?) draft. That's one we got right.

I know the Prismall's (work with his mother) and he is desperate to get more game time. He asked Cats to trade him last year and they said no as he was under contract.

But he is out of contract this year and will probably look to leave as he just can't crack it into their side. Collingwood have shown a bit of interest but I just cant see what they have to offer Geelong in a trade so Pris could end up in the PSD.

His brother is also playing down at Weribee as he didn't get drafted last year. Is bigger than Brent and plays KP. Apparently has more ability than Brent.

Ive been watching Brent closely for the last few years. It’s no wonder he was looking to be traded as he would have walked into most other sides midfields.

I was extremely surprised that his brother wasn't at least rookie listed as he played quite well in the under 18 champs and was talked about a fair bit.

if we're targetting anyone, we should target hawkins

I dont rate him at all.

Slow as molasses, doesnt kick goals. Cant get off the ground so will never be a good aerialist.

The Cats even dropped him for Tom Lonergan.

You Imbecile.

He has played 10 AFL in the best side in the competition in a key position.

He is a 19 years old learning the game.

Id rather him then Colin Sylvia any day.

Sorry YM but Hawkins >>> Any KPP prospect we have. If you think he can't get off the ground watch Round 1 against Port again.

Maybe try to lure Prismall through the PSD promising him 22 senior games and good game time?

I don't think you'd have to make any promises. He'd pick himself week in, week out. He's a better player than Jones and i'd have him up there with Brock too.

Definitely a good idea. Lol I completely forgot about the PSD for a minute there  Depends on his contract status though doesnt it? Anyone able to find out what his contract status is? If not, then I'd still be willing to trade for him. He really is a talented player cursed with trying to break into an amazing midfield. He's been consistently racking up 30+ possessions in the VFL all year.

Just did a bit of research on him myself.

Drafted 2004 at pick 32.

Is 21, turning 22 in July, so he's still young and fits into our 23 and under policy.

Debuted in 2006, played 8 games and averaged around 14 possessions.

Only managed 5 games last year due to Geelongs fantastic year and slab of All Australian midfielders. In those 5 games he averaged 18 possessions.

This year has been emergency 8 times, playing his second game for the year tonight. Hasnt played AFL for nearly 2 months, and he racked up 21 touches tonight, including 7 inside 50s and 3 tackles off limited gametime.

I really think he would be a great pick up if we managed to get him off Geelong. He can win the ball himself, but more importantly he has good skills, which is something we need.

On a completely unrelated note, anyone see Ablett's game tonight? Phenomenal! 39 touches, 2 goals, 6 tackles, 8 clearances. Unbelievable. On his form this year and last, he is better now than Judd ever was IMO.

Only 5 games last year was more due to his broken arm where he missed ~8 weeks. He had his spot cemented untill then and the injury allowed the likes of Stokes and Byrnes to play the majority of the season and steal his spot.

Unfortunately i don't see him leaving the Cats at the end of the year. If he was going to go it would've been last year. He will be worth too much to try and lure anyway, so I say target someone else ie: go hard at Warnock or Thorp from Hawthorn

Posted
Can't get off the ground?

Have you actually seen him play?

Seen him play many times.

He is the second coming of Lance Whitnall.

Overweight, slow, the turning circle of the Titanic.

No thanks.

Prismal would have been great, but now he has a spot on the geelong team and got 32 possies last year. he would cost WAY too much to trade for.

Targeted players should be those NOT getting opportunities at other clubs.

If we could convince Mitch Thorp that he will never get into the Hawks line up (Buddylove, Roughead, Boyle, Dowler, Williams etc), then that would be the smartest thing the demons have done in the last 20 years. He is a future superstar, pick 1 PSD would be lovely.

Otherwize, Robbie Warnock looks a certainty for the PSD, we'll probalbyl only have to offer pick 32 coz freo can't do [censored] if he threatens to walk

Dowler is the one that Pelchan is hoping to get a trade for at seasons end. The Hawks rate Thorp very highly and will not let him go.

why would it cost too much for Pris. He holds all the cards remember as he is out of contract. If Geelong want to get something for him then they will trade for whatever they can get for him even a third round pick or it is off to PSD he goes.

Both these players would be great aquisitions for the Dees and they're not getting a game at the Cats.

Prismall has been emergency 8 times in 9 games this year,he's in tonight for Selwood, but he wants to play week in week out,not just when someone doesn't come up.Bomber Thompson didn't want to let Moloney go,lets do a straight swap

Lonergan would add another target up forward,he can take a grab and kick a goal and he's in tonight for Hawkins. He's been out of the game a long time due to the clash with Brad Miller when he lost a Kidney,so he's fresh and ready to go.

It's round 11 and they have only played one game each this year, time to ask yourself if you want to be a back up part player or play every week!!!

Time for these 2 [censored] to become Demons :o

I started this thread about Prismall on June 6 when he wasn't getting a game at the Cats but now he may have cemented a position and if he plays in a premiership team,he won't be going anywhere. He still hasn't signed a new contract with the Cats so maybe the Finals team is his bargaining chip, play me or trade me!!! Geelong's midfield won't change for at least the next 4 years as far as retirees are concerned and at 23 next season,he has a tough decision to make.

I really hope we can pick him up,he's a hard, tough mid that we desperately need,he'd be our no. 1 mid for years to come.It will be interesting to see how he goes tonight against the Swans.

Rohan Connolly wrote a good article today about Prismall.

Prismall a real chance..

As for Lonergan, no hope! especially after what he went through, he adds alot of culture down there, and means alot to the club as a whole!

But Prismall, on the radar for sure!

Does get caught alot, but has alot of upside!

Prismall worth getting

we culd give them Sylvia and a later pick for him and they'd be happy to take it, because i've heard rumours Prismall isn't happy at Geelong because he knows he won't be in their finals lineup.

Posted

prismall would be an excellent recruit...

he is just what we need!! a ball magnet and has polished skills......

i think we should make a massive move to get him.....

Brock, Jones, And Maloney to provide the muscle with Prismall, buckely and Morton to carry the footy...

i like it

Geelong would rather lose Prismall to the PSD than have Sylvia

stranger things have happened with geelong

King and charlie gardiner for a pick in the 60's???? what were they thinking

it doesnt matter if they lose prismall because he isnt in their premiership side

SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
