Wow, didnt realise how tough the next 2 weeks are.

Cant see us winning either, but stranger things have happened.

If this team remains competetitve at AAMI unlike in previous years, then I will be stoked.

I just dont want any more thrashings, I want us to always be having a dip and i want the youngsters to continue to excite.

As for changes vs Adelaide. I cant think of anyone i would drop from the Freo game. hell even Jamar, Warnock and garland stood up.

yep they certainly did. I'd like to have Whelan back in, I'd like think he is in our best 22.

We've got Saints at the 'Dome after the Hawks and then the FILTH!!!!!!!!!!! and from that perspective I'd be happy with 1-3 (no questions asked on which game we win haha)

Good heavens man--you'd retain Bruce?Give him 1 more chance?!

Adelaide and Hawthorn a flag contenders. We are not.

We will most likely lose both...

Can people shut up about the next games, I want to enjoy this a little longer.

Agreed, that was a big thing for us. These 3 would probably considered the 'weakest' of the 22 that lined up yesterday.

Jamar made a huge difference in the middle with his body size against Sandilands, who was just too strong and tall for White to counter, every time he wasnt taking bounces in the centre, we were getting smashed in clearances.

Warnock continues to improve bit by bit each week he's in, he showed signs against Brisbane and continued that. He looks too similar to Bruce/Junior/Morton and so I didnt realise how much he had of it till I saw the replay and realised it was him and not one of that trio.

And Garland, that misguided punch that lead to Farmers goal in the last aside, easily played his 2nd best game for us (his debut against Swans being the benchmark), he actually showed some of that ability that he shows at Sandy where he looks quite classy, if he can gain confidence at this level he may yet turn into a handy AFL player

30 point loss and 60 point loss... but improvements everywhere. Bate and Miller to start owning the forward line... midfield still having problems but improving. Gameplan starting to get stuck in their minds...

Start of the year we would have 5 or so good passages of play...

Rounds 3-5 we would play at least 1 good quarter.

Against Geelong we played 2 good quarters...

And yesterday we out-played the dockers in 2 whole quarters. Our two were just better than their two...

We are improving. But the crows and Hawks are VERY VERY good...

One thing's for sure. We will win more games this year.

They're both very tough asks, but I'd consider us a better chance against the Hawks considering our terrible record at AAMI.

A few players should become available over the long break, too.

We can be looking at PJ, Whelan and Sylvia as return options.

Put that together with the improving form of Frawley, Warnock and Garland and we aren't in too bad shape.

I get the feeling Morton will benefit hugely from the week off. Rivers, Robertson and Moloney (for example) still have the shadow of persistent injuries or underdone preseasons on them - the week off will freshen them up a little too.

We could actually find ourselves with selection headaches, with too many players pushing for a spot!

I definately think the 'competitive' tag is one we can reach for, at the least.

We WILL win them both.

If that happens (and trust me, I hope it does) then I will never post on Demonland ever again.

That would make a few people happy.

Be happy with 4 quarters of competitive football

Looking at the BIG picture prefer we lose enough games to ensure best trade option for next season

Currently we need to rely on some other teams

The 2 new teams also may cause some problems with next years draft

Mate, i can feel it too, if we play like we did in the second half against crows, well who knows.

and im watching da replay of the second half its look of tho, Melbourne skills and decisions are starting to look better and the players are use to the gameplan.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
