  1. Past hour
  2. Next year I reckon. I think he’s not physically ready. He’s still a kid.
  3. His name has popped up on here before, but Redlegs ruckman Harry Boyd is currently leading the SANFL for clearances by some margin, clocking up 48 after five matches - with the next closest player on 38. He's also smashing the hit-out count, with 208 compared to 166 for second place. Top 10 for i50 and averaging nearly 5 tackles per game. A bit on the short side at 198 (weight . . . similar to Kieren Briggs), but came through as a defender and can take a grab. He's now won a couple Norwood best & fairests under Jade Rawlings. Has an off-field manner that reminds me a bit of May - comes across as a good egg. Age 26. Seems our type of ruck, but not fitting with our list approach perhaps.
  4. Premiership teddy bear. Premiership beanie. Premiership membership to Demonland. Premiership Netflix account. Premiership fridge magnet. Premiership double-glazing installed at a 50% discount. All better than the display of vanity that is a ring which tells people how great you are.
  5. Today
  6. This year Caleb Windsor will be a pace ahead of Acres and rebound it back up the other end of the ground
  7. Any reason this player isn't mentioned specifically? Very intriguing.
  8. Unlike their AFL counterparts, the Casey Demons and Carlton VFL sides are languishing near the bottom of the VFL table with one win apiece. They meet on Friday evening at Ikon Park at the ungodly time of 5.10pm.
  9. Lewis Young??? Or last year????
  10. Gross. I can understand the argument around giving players who didn't play grand final day but still played a certain percentage of games a medal (say, 10/25 games) as they have made a big contribution. But the rings are gross. Might as well call ourselves world champions when we win the flag too
  11. That doesn’t make sense. You mention LY was on. What does that mean?
  12. Did any other Demonlanders see Robinson’s puerile, inane questions when interviewing Caleb Windsor on 360 this evening? Poor old Whateley was squirming with embarrassment, while Caleb managed ok.
  13. This was forward 50 retention rates, Petty has taken 4 contested marks for the year. Trac has 5. Fwiw the two leaders right are Curnow (26) and McKay (22).
  14. Pretty sure at the end of Round 8 JVR was 1st in the league for contested marks & Fritch was 3rd. Petty 14th but that will def improve
  15. Looks like a copy of last years finals game. Blues and the AFL need the win !! MFC need to beat Carlton, AFL, media and the 3 Specsaver people in yellow !!!
  16. This kid is a star in the making, has the talent, composure and aggression of a seasoned veteran after only a handful of games. I love him. Another win for JT.
  17. Those in the media are rightfully potted because of their role in covering what is the greatest sport on the planet terribly. You can avoid them to an extent but not when you are watching the game/replay, not at half time, not when people bring some of their comments to your attention etc The medias role should be to make the intricacies of the game easily digestible for those in the outer but they decided some time ago we were too dumb for that or at least most of us are. So they ignore that and elect to go for the over the top personalities, the shock jock controversial calls that drive the 24 hours news cycle and the tabloids journalism of players personal lives rather than dissecting the evolving nature of the game from a tactical/strategic perspective and holding the AFL to account for the many egregious and downright terrible decisions they make as governors of the sport and the league. As fans/supporters we expect/demand more just as we do if our governments. They let us down and it is up to us to point that out/demand more when it happens.
  18. Rumour is it’s potentially to 2028-29 — let’s hope it is as he’s shown now that he now comfortable again on the leaping-foot & that’s HUGE! Anyone still not convinced he’s a fwd is absolutely kidding themselves (yes, he’s also a defender, but my point remains — he’s also a fwd & right now that’s where he’ll be until something major changes in personnel. I do like fact that Rooch backed it up later with specifics by stating he’d heard it from two crows recruiters which does paint a narrative you can imagine ie call comes & clubs recruitment team was flat.. The worst parts about him leaving was that we’d lost our obvious May replacement in 2-3yrs but if he keeps the dukes firing like Sat night we MAY have lost him as The replacement anyways (pun may or may not of been intended, I can’t actually remember) — I know things change fast in footy but for now it’s good news & like to think it’s fact we stood by him through all the prev injuries & showed faith again by sticking fat this year as he wants to play fwd, maybe he feels it was a tipping point for loyalty or who knows maybe crows seemed like he’d be more a back man? Either way let’s hope he stick around as his trade value was at MAX lvl LY especially in terms of maybe getting Harley (which if we had traded him LY, would’ve been 💯 ON & meant we likely had enough to get deal done) can’t see us getting anything like that as a return again (whatever we got for Petty +other early picks could’ve netted us Harley not JUST what we got for Petty, just getting in early for anyone poised to comment) and seeing Harry taking grabs like that just felt RIGHT — would’ve been REAL close to a flag if not for one errant pass by ___ (not giving it away free — who recalls???) but thems the breaks I suppose.
  19. Prior to the Geelong game I was confident. All the love was for the Cats and they were due for a loss. This week we've had all positive media so will need to live up to the hype. 5 day break is a concern although Carlton are coming into their third tough game in a row in 13 days. That is definitely a mitigating factor. Blues are possibly getting a few back also. Reckon we're the better team but we'll need to be at our best. A win would be massive for our season but the Baggers will be desperate to stay in the race and the eight. Team selection could be telling.
  20. I think @Dee Boys might have it - I totally read the "they" as being Petty's camp but if it was Adelaide instead, they both make sense.
  21. Inflation adjusted, very close match ;)
  22. He is a lecherous drunk with a flimsy grasp of the finer aspects of the English language who also loves a dart, a punt, a pie and select four letters words. He is the embodiment of how NewsCorp view their audience which is why they refer to him as the man of the people or something along those lines. I mean seriously, he is the chief football writer for the paper and his columns would receive an "F" for grammar in a middle school English essay.
