  1. Past hour
  2. I felt Verral was soundly beaten for much of the day by the more experienced Downie. Won a few contests but his body positioning and ruck craft at times seemed pretty ordinary. At ground level he faired not much better imv and reaction time pretty slow, even for VFL level. If he gains possession on the ground he often just panic dump kicks straight ahead or is so slow to get ball to boot or hand his disposals are often smothered or disrupted. Some of the dump kicks he attempted yesterday had no height on them either and occasionally ended up ricocheting straight back off a player in front. Has zero athletism but that hasn't stopped others like Darcy from making it. He might make the grade at some point and patience needed but yesterday wasn't a good outing for the big fella imho.
  3. We were sitting in level 2 behind the goals at the Punt Road end, so had a great view of it. That is a clear highlight I will remember for a long time. We thought Maxie's goal was going to be the highlight until that came along. Astonishingly quick thinking and a lesson in keeping going until the ball is actually out, not just likely to do so.
  4. Pretty impressive game from Moniz after the first quarter. He's always been handy at ground level. Even in the air, he competes well against taller opponents. Recovers quickly and pressures / tackles well. Provides a solid option on the rebound and chains well. Where he lets himself down is his clangers by foot though. Particularly through the middle. Some of them are horror jobs under not alot of pressure and at AFL level the oppo will generally punish on the scoreboard if you turnover in that part of the ground. He's doing alot right but i reckon the FD would want to see him clean that side up first. Too risky otherwise. He is also being played as a small rebound defender so who is he replacing? We have Bowey about to come back. Surely he gets the nod and is well ahead of Moniz preference wise given his prior cred? Personally if Hunter is playing at Casey i'd rather see him play the Moniz role at times. Give Moniz some reasonable minutes at CBs and stoppages and see how he goes. Pushing forward sometimes as well. Wasted down back and unlikely to get a call up while playing this role at Casey. Moniz is also a pretty good crumber / goal sneak. At least when played up forward anyway. Looks like the FD has other plans though.

  6. Scott is a great coach, was a better than average footballer, not a bad bloke in person. ...but the whining in his press conferences and disrespect to opponents is not doing him any favours.
  7. One of the wiser things I have heard Nathan Buckley say is that the indigenous players just see the game differently and play in a way that others don't seem to be able to. This is a great example of what he was talking about IMHO.
  8. I noticed this on the night. Step 1: Give away a clear, obvious, if not paid theres a corruption investigation free kick. Step 2: whine at ump
  9. So is this the starter post for the “Bowey traded” thread? 🤗 Let him go under the radar … do we care? And he wasn’t playing for the free when he was legged in front of goal but ignored by the maggot. If the dissent rule was interpreted as it was when first introduced there would have been at least four 50 meters against those whiners.
  10. How does Roy end up a demon? is he in the mid season draft?
  11. It’s not uncommon to play with 3 key targets in a forward line. Your boy Jefferson better get used to that
  12. There is not a snowflakes chance in hell that Goodwin gave 5 votes for Holmes.
  13. Don’t disagree with most things you said. Goody very much acknowledged and was grateful to the supporters that turned up. Home crowd advantage can be the difference between winning and losing. I think the point Goody (or maybe it’s just me) was trying to make was that the more fans that turn up and the noisier we are does not go unnoticed by the playing group. Although it’s a Carlton home game coming up and they will clearly outnumber us, the more passionate noisy demon supporters that rock up the better. It will be and appreciated by our players. It may just help our boys get over the line in a tight game.
  14. Thanks Deemania. And remind me to never cross swords with you on this website.😃 Although to be completely honest a part of me is glad another game is coming around so soon. Can't wait.

  16. We won’t be winning the brownlow and i couldn’t care less we have 5-6 guns who take votes off each other which is great
  17. love your work mate so not having a go. There are worst stats for sure but some people infer too much into this one. Not just in footy but soccer and others. So much comes down to who performs when under pressure, who kicks straight, so I’m not a fan of the expected score
  18. Another short break between games is deliberate handicapping, neglect and above all, insulting for the thinking supporters of the MFC, the players themselves and above all, a blaring weakness in contrast to the high morality yardstick so self-considered and 'faked' by the AFL.
  19. On sports bet and tab. He is into 35 and 41. For the Brownlow. Started out at 101. Hope he gets shorter, ….. joke hope he has a couple of suns.
  20. Cats fans are bloody spoiled - the only team (other than the NSW & QLD teams) who don’t have to share a home ground and get to always have 90+% of the crowd. And further their ground is not standard AFL shape which further enhances their home ground advantage.
  21. Cats fans on the socials almost universally running with the 'we were off' line. Delusional morons.
  22. Don’t forget to watch 360 tomorrow night, they’ll be interviewing Leb. If you’ve not yet heard him speak, get ready to be impressed. 👍🏽
  23. Remember we will not get free kicks against Carlton no matter what. Like Brisbane, they siphon frees from the mere touch. One only had to look at the B's versus GC.
  24. Probably to run over as much wild life as they can too. Not to mention the competition to see who can use the most fossil fuels and take up the most parking space. I saw an F 150 at Woollies the other day and it stuck out over the line by about five feet. They really are trucks.
