  1. When i watched games live, it seemed to be kents role to sprint from ball carrier to ball carrier when our forwards were outnumbered (and the opposition was trying to clear the ball out of defence). His speed and pressure was better all season than anyone else in my opinion. So i would think that he is easily safe and someone else (Garlett for example - although i like him even though he drifts). I like the inclusion of Tim smith in our starting line-up (not sure it will happen but i like it for the Weid - maybe both can rotate throughout the year in the one posiiton). I think we all agree weid won't be ready this year yet. Exciting times, Go Dees!
  2. Do we reciprocate too and try to advertise and sell NB gear in our Demon store or online? If we don't maybe we can start to and ask them to do what you say (great idea by the way)! All about exposure
  3. Just heard that Tanya Hird and Jams hird are not together anymore. Tanya Hird attended a function for ex AFL players WAGS (women who used to date AFL players but no longer do - Sounds like a secret society ;)). Not surprised at all really that (if true) she is leaving him. [redacted] If someone else has mentioned this sorry for re-reporting it. Go Dees!
  4. I've always found Melksham at Essendon as underwhelming, so i'd be suprised if he turned into a gun for us. Hes averaged 16.5 disposals per game at Essendon (http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-melbourne-demons--jake-melksham) which i might accept for a first/second year player with potential. We will see how he goes next year (i really have no idea if he will play a game or if he won't miss a game etc.). As long as whoever is in performs great.
  5. He played as a forward primarily for the swans didn't he? I'd happily recruit him as a delisted free agent - would be cheap and who knows:)
  6. Ladder of Thu/Fri night games reported on AFL website. Dees again dominating the bottom (anyone have the saturday night ladder)? http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-27/2017-fixture-reaction-every-club
  7. I'm annoyed though as they are mostly our home games at the MCG (i'd prefer more of our away games being broadcast). I'm happy with the draw (night games is a tick). A bit of sarcasm: And yes nice to see essendon's punishment continue (e.g. pick 1..).. 2 friday & 7 sat night games. I guess the AFL wants to help clear their debt up quick and support their excellent performance last year (to be fair maybe they predict essendon playing a lot better and possibly making the 8, if they don't i'd be expecting them to get 0 night games next year - as if). #GODEES
  8. Random positive on top of this: Hawthorns game-plans, tactics and strategies from Jordan's perspective. This knowledge will also be very valuable (even though it will change it just reinforces how good a pick up it will be).
  9. I thought they didn't, even though they were aware of it?
  10. He talks really well. I really like listening to him talk (love this decision even more now). No um/ahh, rather straight forward, logical, honest, positive and strong responses to questions. #godees
  11. Can't remember exactly. Ox said something like: "any news on the tom rockliff to Melbourne rumor" and i don't think Terry had any knowledge but the talk went to what a Rockliff, Lewis and Hibberd would be for the club as a trade period result (positive talk). I think the talk was that if it happened then Brisbane would have to cover some of his salary (which they said they would be happy to), and that this is similar to a rebuild performed by a club years ago where they got rid of all the older talent and started again (Rockliff, Hanley , etc.).
  12. SEN this morning: Ox asked Terry Wallace about Rockliff to the Dees rumor (around 710am).. First time i'd heard of it on the radio. The plot thickens lol!
  13. Agreed, loved terry wallac's trade radio review of melbourne and said the most pressing need we had was a hard line breaking half back and Hibbard was exactly that. Made me feel better about giving up our second rounder for him (hopefully next years though).
  14. I have a sinking feeling we will cave and swap a 3rd rounder for their 4th rounder as part of the deal :(. But hopefully 2nd rounder alone is enough.
  15. haha yea, took the highlights 1 minute and 19 seconds for him to hit a target by hand, and 1 minute 30 ish to hit a target by foot. I was actually laughing that it was called highlights. Second half of the video he gets more of it on target. But it was mostly lose player down back or on wing, or on a small defender.. SO really the highlights show us nothing and we have to go on WAFL form.
  16. Very happy to hear this. If one or two of our core midfielders go down next year i would expect Trengrove to be the perfect replacement, and who knows with another injury free pre-season he may get back to what he was in his first few years :)! I expect that this means Grimes is gone as i feel we could only sign one of them.
  17. At this stage i don't really like Tomilinson. Would prefer we didn't go for him. Hoskin-ELliot not really sure as he has dropped of the radar with his injury. Happy to let both go to Carlton. But can understand sort of need for two players like them.
  18. Hear that interview at halftime where Mark Stevens said balantyne wants to be traded from Fremantle to West Coast? Thats pretty big news.
  19. Hi everyone, just saw this on the AFL website & all year he has been my ideal target forward since he cleaned us up almost at the start of the year. I don't think it would be possible to get him, but interesting to think/dream about (2nd behind Tom lynch for contested marks too). http://m.afl.com.au/news/2016-08-11/emerging-giant-rory-lobb-could-seek-shock-trade-to-wa-club.mobileapp
  20. I think the club will think about the future and go Hogan for Pederson (Jones said everyone is excited to have weid's and Hogan in same forward line). Not sure if anyone else will get changed. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-08-08/demons-confident-gawn-will-adapt-to-facing-mobile-ruckman-trengove "I'm sure all our Melbourne supporters are excited – I know the club's excited – to see Weids and Jesse play in the same team," Jones said. "Having spoken to Jesse, he was disappointed he couldn't be out there for Weids' first game because they've both been excited about the prospect of playing together."
  21. My girlfriend is a mad Richmond supporter, so i have seen most of their games this year & i can't see him leaving. E.g. The win over Sydney Rance ran back to the goal square and double fist pumped and dropped to his knees in front of the cheer squad (10 minutes after the final siren) & kept this sort of celebration up for 30 seconds. He visibly, to me, loves the club and i can't see him leaving. If he did he is exactly what we need. Go Dees
  22. Thought i heard McGoven has a possible broken thumb (in injuries report from match)? Awesome news if so. Unrelated to your post I liked Roosey's Press conference. It was all about the talent we have and getting games into them for the last 6 rounds. If he dropped brayshaw i would be suprised from what he was saying as an example.
  23. Ruckman take longer to get there. I'm open to the idea of him or someone like him coming to club. But yes who knows what will happen.
  24. I like how everyone said last year we paid overs for Melksham and this year the bombers are using that trade as a basis to suggest that Hibberd is worth more. If anything i would be thinking that essendon owe us for being so generous and that its their turn to accept unders (to even out last years deal).
  25. Changed my mind after watching Olivers 2 videos on youtube and I'm all for him at 3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAyX8del0Us He looks really good in the video (reminds me of a rep kid [vic country] coming back to play TAC cup and you just know hes too good (and too big) for the level, hence making the team play that much better.
