  2. Grundy said last year he wanted to stay in Melb - not return to Adelaide. Stick that up ya clacker Damo
  3. They were saying in the Age he's playing wing. I thought it was half back? If it's wing, he'd be great.
  4. I'm ok if Geelong finishes fourth if that's the case, but still prefer 9th or lower.
  5. 'Our grand final' is puzzling. Delusions right there.
  6. Smith will have to get a game soon. The coaches don't like letting them play sub for too long as they lose match fitness. I expect Smith will get a whole game and most likely in the ones. Mind you, playing less game time probably helps with his propensity to get injured.

  8. While it's common knowledge he's a card-carrying [censored]-wit, I found myself wondering (while watching the game) how on earth he managed to a) become captain and b) hold the position for so long. There's no way Brisbane could possibly win a premiership with that [censored] at the helm. His tool antics just undermines everything they're trying to be/achieve.
  9. Agree Mo, it's a sad state of affairs. It's like the VFL is the plaything of the AFL. With the stroke of a pen, they'll mess with the clubs to suit their ever-shifting priorities. It's offensive that clubs with proud histories can just go by the wayside or be tossed about in an ever-changing competition. I'm not sure I'd want to play for a VFL side (aside from an obvious lack of talent). You either get thumped every week while scrounging for loose change from the AFL or make up the numbers for an AFL reserve side. Not my idea of a pathway to AFL or a recipe for building a strong community-based club.
  10. Yeah, I think Casboult gave Turner a touch up.
  11. This made me chuckle. Crouch is definitely in with Himmelberg on the extended bench LOL
  12. Yes, I know. I normally watch the AFL live stream, but televised is preferred as you get much better coverage and replays of goals, tackles etc
  13. The Good: Better kick than most of our mids, generally composed with good skills, good role player, versatile, team first. The bad: A bit plodding The ugly: N/A It's a shame the club hasn't seen fit to play him more. I'd have him ahead of Harmes, Dunstan and Laurie. I like Laurie's smarts and skills but just not sure he'll cut it at the next level.
  14. We know his pants have been on fire before (Koz) so skepticism recommended on everything Cornes.
  15. Absolutely! I suspect the weight of his mullet is also throwing out his kicking leg.
  16. In hindsight, perhaps the club should have had Grundy listed as 'Managed.' Instead of Richo stumbling over his words trying to explain the Grundy omission, he could have said "Grundy's a little bit sore but nothing serious. We'll give him a little bit of a hit-out over the weekend and see how he pulls up." Problem solved and none of this media codswallop.
  17. I don't think so. He was more or less landed on. Having said that, I have no doubt he'd be the recipient of a rib-tickler from Tex Walker (amongst others) this week, so I prefer he didn't play until cherry ripe. Two weeks in a row of being subbed out is more than enough. Out, Petty - In, Tommo
  18. I love to see the father-sons come through too. My guess is 50's out to rookie but @ChaserJ might have more insight on him as a player and where he might fall.
  19. I would think a late-matched (a la wee Woewy) or rookie pick. They're not the same type of player but Blake Drury springs to mind with where he fell in the draft after a good year.
