You're absolutely right. They should've opened up his foot at the time and put a screw in one of the bones, doesn't matter which one.

Trengove had multiple scans on his foot which showed nothing at the time. When the injury finally appeared on a scan, he stopped playing and had the first operation.

How could you ever contemplate changing Raul Poos?

Thanks for the footy fix wayne. Loving it! -
We haven't played Essendon twice in 10 years. In the last 10 years, 9 of these games have been Essendon home games (2010 was a Melbourne home game). We play home games against interstate sides (the ones where you make no money), Collingwood (the one game where we make money) and two or three other Vic sides (usually Bulldogs and St Kilda).

Slowly but surely: http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-demons/jack-trengove-ready-to-take-next-step-in-return-from-serious-foot-injury/news-story/ac0aeb9f1dc517187bc00eb221ee9f78 I want him to successfully come back just as much as I want team success.

My New Year's Resolution is to stop bashing Watts. The scrutiny on him = the rest of the team put together. Hope he has a great season. Happy New Year!

Superstar Naitanui on now. Got a lot of vision of him on the bench, then get out marked by Shane Biggs. Good one!

Thank God he didn't

At training the other day there was an old guy with an fluro orange streak through his hair, so probably yeah

I did wonder about that. Maybe they locked him in the Krispy Kreme cupboard over the break with the intention of turning him back into a tall forward (a complete circle). Or, is it just a bit of extra meat so he's not quite so easy to push off, under, over the ball. -

Agree with GGRM on Hunt. He was quite prominent in the full ground stuff. When he got the ball, about 15 players would shout at him to keep running and break away. He did, backing it up with a dinky nothing kick - needs work! -

Afraid not Steve! He, Prince, Frost and Spencil were doing a handling drill where Player A and B would hand ball to each other rapid-fire (using two handballs) while player C and D would push player B from either side. Just a bit of shooting out handballs under pressure. He may or may not have been kicking shortly afterwards but I couldn't be 100% sure (lost in a sea of blue). All I can say is he moved well. -

They did last year Vagg. It might be because of the new logo - haven't quite caught up with all the gear perhaps? -

I wouldn't read too much into it. He might've been there to show them the ropes. -

Add Jones and Vince to the re-hab bunch -
I bowled a long to training for a while. I didn't stay for long so I'm sure others can add more. A photographer was there as was a cameraman so there might be photos from AFL media and footage on the news (don't know which one). Players in rehab or being rested: Dawes, Prince, Spencil, Garlett, Watts, Frost, Tyson, Brayshaw, Trengove, unidentified stick (possibly AFL Academy trainee). These guys did modified training and or ran laps. Trengove was doing some light drills. Good to see him do more than just running. Patracca did a good deal of the main training but went off to an adjacent oval when the full ground ball movement work was being done. Garlett (his mrs and kid were there), Tyson and Brayshaw did some 150-ish meter run-throughs at some speed. Brayshaw lagged behind in all but one of the runs (except the last one). I assume then, he's coming from further back that the others. Looks bigger this season. I didn't really pick out too many of the newbies apart from Oliver, but only because he glows in his pastiness. His kicking seemed OK in the drill I saw him. Looked to be tiring the more each drill progressed - to be expected. So far so good. He, Hulett, Stretch, King (Mitch) and Garland were doing some forward drills. they all looked pretty good - standouts were Stretch and Oliver (not that they were doing a whole lot). I have read observations that Watts is being very vocal - I concur. Bugg looks to have settled in very well. I'll add more as I think of it. NB. Very hard to spot players with no names on their shirts and in hats.

This membership reputation thing is, I dunno, bizarre. Why is it there? Other than that - love the site and great work Andy and Nasher

I think that pretty much covers everything.

Me too (x2). There's something about it being for a 3 game membership for guests. Not sure if I ticked the wrong box of it's a bonus/present from the MFC. No doubt the latter.

Should Demonland embrace the Women's Game?
Roger Mellie replied to Bigred's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Essendon get a women's team, I hope they get suspended too (just because it's Essendon) Dee's and Bullies should have first shot at it. -
I should've known Brayshaw would be inside tucking into the celery while the rest of the boys are on the training track.
