  1. Anyone else hoping Freo finally land that key fwd that has eluded them for so long.
  2. I don't think there's a top 4. If Hawks do a number on Sydney, I'm aware of their earlier encounter but the Hawks are awake now, Sydney are doing enough.Hawks Daylight Free Eagles (Still to play Swans/Hawks) Swans Daylight Collingwood (a straight kicking fwd from winning their last 3) Daylight The rest. Richmond at 5. Brisbane Lions would of beaten them last Friday night.
  3. Who said anything about us as a club, it's every where you turn. Doctors, lawyers, bus drivers, construction workers, hairdressers the bloke the next door who has a 9-5 job could well be a dealer. Drugs are everywhere, the individual must choose. I'm not across the AFL drug policy but surely the revamped one will have(if not already) the right for clubs to test their own players. Couple that with basic knowledge, drugs like ice/speed/cocaine will generally last in your system 2-3 days. I'd be testing Friday and Monday mornings If I wanted to catch someone. The culture could be cleaned up easily. The AFL also needs to grow some balls. Clean slate and 1 strike and your out.
  4. The "drug culture" is out there, everywhere,it's up to the individual....
  5. Whilst that might be true even the greatest environment can't get you kicking straight......Cloke....
  6. Is it any riskier than Dawes playing? Give Spenser a crack and I'd like to see Newton given a couple of games in a row. Outside run is great, so is moving the ball quickly by foot.
  7. Going on Clokes and Danihers ability to kick straight against us....
  8. Over him. When he speaks he talks, pauses, talks, asks a question, pauses, goes on to say "can we, can we do that" before pausing again, then more talking. Occasionally he has something worth saying but like Dermie it gets lost in amongst all the other rot. I don't believe he has the knowledge of the game to hold the position he holds.
  9. Agree but let's keep Tmac in defence and play Spenser up fwd until Frost is back. Play Watts out of the square and give him some space, anything, let's mix it up.
  10. I will start by saying I didn't watch the game, worked 25 hours over sat/sun. However I didn't listen all be it interrupted through my phone to everybody's favourite call team Triple M. Many excuses have been thrown up in the post match discussion thread, and all were quickly dismissed as they should of been. I honestly thought we had turned the corner mentally after the win against Geelong. We had enough talent playing to win that game. Having said that as many have stated on here all year we are still 2 trade/draft periods away from having a really competive list, and sadly we are still mentally week. What part of turn up ready to play every week don't the players understand. Great sides can start slowly because of complacency, find themselves 2-3 goals down at qtr time to a lesser opponent only to get a rev up from the coach and go on to win by 80-100 points. The coaching staff are not blame. 3 weeks ago Roos was back to being the messiah, we can't have it both ways. Look at North against the Suns then North against Geelong, Sydney against the Hawks then Sydney against the Tigers, Freo's first 7-8 games and their last 4-5. The Bulldogs, Saints and Collingwood have all dropped games but have been ultra competitive in most of their games purely through their attack on the ball and tackling/defensive pressure. Only a bit of polish and in Collingwoods case a fwd that can kick straight has stopped those 3 clubs from winning a lot more. Are their teams that much more advanced then ours? Physically no but mentally yes. I don't buy into this crap that the Bombers came out fired up because of their loss the week before and in turn we will come out this week. If we are still relying on that we are in trouble. Haven't we learnt this lesson before. Richmond are officially a mess, how they beat Freo and Sydney is beyond me. Time to start betting against them and take back what they took from me earlier in the year.
  11. Was the turning point the game against Geelong or was it two days before when Nate Jones walked into Roos office saying that the players take responsibility for the loss to StKilda. Finally some acknowledgement from the playing group that come gameday they are largely responsible for what happens on field. This doesn't mean we win every game as we found out against the Eagles two weeks later but it showed them what is capable when they come to play.
  12. Im jealous mate. Up in Sydney working game on the radio.
  13. Never heard of Browne, Edwards, Ashby, Obrien, Steinberg. The closest thing we have to a passenger in this game is Dawes but apparently he's playing a role. The stage is set for him to impose himself. If nothing I want to see him lay some of those bone crunching tackle.
  14. Tigers have saints/Freo/Hawks coming up. Very interesting to see what happens.
  15. Tigers only won last week thanks to some dubious umpiring late in the game.
  16. His did Richmond ever beat the Swans and Freo.
  17. How many people are breaking it down to each game on its merits as opposed to winning x amount of games and then thinking it can't be done. I think too many on here are underselling the coaching panel. Before the Geelong win many were still questioning Roos as a match day coach thinking he's purely installing a culture. Are we underselling the work McCartney has done with the likes of Stretch and ANB during the preseason and first 7-8 rounds of the season. Out of those 8 the Pies and North I think would be the tougher games but are winnable. North has owned us for years, easily pushing us off the ball but they are currently a mess. The GWS game is an interesting one, I say that because it's in Melbourne and its rd 23. Depending on where they sit on the ladder could determine how they attack the game. Could they be safely in the 8 and look to secure their first final regardless of the result and rest players. Could they drop there next couple and fall in a heap. RTG I have a brother who's a chef and doesn't mind a bit of the mushroom action.
  18. Reasons I think we can......We don't have Grimes/Toump/Jones/Bail play. First 7 games in Melbourne. The ES hoodoo crap can just like the SS ended three weeks ago. We can get on our own roll. Salem and Kent to come back giving ANB and Stretch a rest. Obviously no more injuries would go a long way.
  19. Those 8 games are all winnable, whether we turn up or not is a different matter. It's understandable that not many think we can go a streak because of the crap that's been served up for so long.
  20. Why not? The win over Geelong showed that the penny has dropped with this group(by group I mean 2/3 of the list). Players like Angus and VB and Hogan turn up to win every week.
