  1. The whole night should be forfeited until we are no longer a mess.
  2. Let Newton play the last 3 games.
  3. The year is shot, I'm for giving anyone whose shown a glimpse of promise a run.
  4. We need to be careful with the leadership. I say that because if you can't play the game its difficult to lead by example. Take Jack Grimes, under 18 vic metro captain, he doesn't mind a bit of the physical stuff but his disposal and footy smarts are near non existent.
  5. More depth? We don't have any to start with. We don't even have 22 players up to AFL standard. The honest but scary truth.
  6. As I mentioned in another thread. Before we sign up any more players they must fit 3 criteria or no contract. 1 - Natutal competitor, loves the physical contest 2 - elite user of the footy, mark the footy, hit targets on a consistent basis. 3 - footy smarts If we had to apply that to our current list we would easily loose a 3rd in one go. Some big names would go. We are a mess. Hopefully the coaches can let go because some of the supporters can't.
  7. Let's cut the crap. Who can't dispose of the footy by foot. Every player must possess 3 things. 1- must be a natural competitor and love the contest 2- must be able to dispose of the footy 3- must have footy smarts Let's be honest, how many does that now rule out? A Tom McDonald might be the only exception with regards to no.2 because his main role is a stopper. If we're being honest at least 6-7 who played yesterday must go. How many would miss if applied to the Hawks? One, Chip Frawley but he comes under the Tmac exception.
  8. Agree with everything but the call on Toumpas.
  9. Sub or not, he's one of many that isn't AFL standard.
  10. Doesnt matter who lined up next week, Carlton don't want the win.
  11. We've got players who can't hit a target 15 metres away by foot, but we'd be number one for best public speakers. What price do we put on that?
  12. JT? Anything from him is a bonus. I'm not getting my hopes up. I've moved on rightly or wrongly from a few on on the list.
  13. Redleg I was referring to who's out that's been there the last couple of weeks. Games v North/Pies etc. team stability should be good.
  14. Yes but it's not like we have 4-5 players out. While Tyson had a great game last week he's been down on last years form. Part of development or coming of age requires us to not miss a beat with players out. We beat the cats without Hogan. But I will acknowledge we have no depth. We run out today with players who still can't do the games basics.
  15. A hawthorn player did the "tunnel ball" last night.
  16. Who's out of the side that hasn't been out for weeks as it is? Very winnable game although we're still carrying players who can't dispose of the footy. I keep hearing about Stringer and Redpath, what about our fwds. No excuses at all today.
  17. Well what would people give Fitzy? 1 or 2 years? Depending on cost?
  18. We beat the Cats with a few big names playing. Still a big chance. No room for complacency as the Doggies won't go away.
  19. Tigers play Pies, Bombers, North after tomorrow. I think Pies might role them. Then the North game may determine who makes it.
  20. Leppa coaching for his career. Barker doing what he's told.
  21. Those that would keep Toumpas. 1 - Why haven't we offered him a contract yet? 2 - I thought we were no longer in the business of giving players 5-6 years to to reach basic levels in fundamentals of the game.
  22. Hird is a mess. His arrogance is deafening. Just go. The club has a long way to go.
  23. Out - Garland, Howe, Grimes, Michie, M Jones. And there we have the making of a team.
