We should win both games which would take us to 6 wins for the season which most people here at the start of the year would have taken. 8-10 wins next year should be the next goal. Baby steps.

Make a bold prediction for the remainder of the season..

Agree/disagree? Morton showed more. It's a scary thought.

He's just another that hasn't come on. He's first games I thought we had got our own Hodge in the making. He's really slight these days. I recall one preseason game years back and I couldn't believe how solid he was. He's obviously had to shed some size to minimise long term injuries again, but he just gets pushed off the ball way too easily these days. Apart from that spoil this year I find it hard to get enthused about him these days which is sad, because I thought he was going to be elite.

He'd be as welcome back at the Dees as Tom Scully.

Looked like a player who hasn't played AFL for a long time. Also looks like a player that has played his last game of AFL. He's a textbook ball watcher. Doesn't have too many tricks from what i can see.

Our poor investments in drafting have killed us. No news here. Having failures (so far) in Toumpas so recently doesn't help. The next 8 players picked after him are all in their clubs best 22 playing week in week out. I only have blind hope for him but he's a worse pick than morton at this stage. He had double hip surgery before he was drafted they say. Then why would you invest so much in a kid who's body was cooked?

I think Bails first year? Pretty sure we were down by nearly 10 goals to zip at qtr time.

I had totally forgotten about Sylvia until looking at the teams. -
Players to target at the end of the year

Mckernan and Crozier are ones we would be looking at IMO. Ruck/forward, and small forward who can push into the midfield. If we can send toumpas to Adelaide for Mckernan and their first rounder DO IT! -
Botempelli will be the pick of the bunch, I wouldn't call him a pure midfielder. Looks like he can play anywhere. Otherwise the gold coast boys are had to split.

Out: garland, nicho, terlich. In: ?

He's getting the most out of our list. There were quite a few players yesterday that aren't AFL standard. We need to nail another trade/draft period like we did last year and we will improve again no doubt.

Frawley destroyed Liam Jones today. When your opponent gets subbed off you've done your job.

Pumped! Let's go dees!

Players to target at the end of the year

Vickery is a poor mans Josh Fraser. I didn't even think that was possible. We need some skill in the back line, although if we can boost our midfield again Vince could move to the back flank. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Essendon love when attention gets brought to the process of the investigation. Jeff Kennett wrote an editorial last week on it and he was spot on. They are trying to get off on a technicality instead of trying to prove their innocence. -
10 goals from turnovers. Thought we really went away from the game plan yesterday which would have angered Roosy the most. We were definitely not a hard team to play against yesterday.

The problem with his kicking is all in the ball drop. I dont understand how we can't iron out these problems with the players. They do this for a living and train 3 times a week.
-
Toumpas was a poor pick, but i trust the current regime won't make those mistakes again judging on the how they worked pick 2 last year. Wines would have been handy. Toumpas isn't in his league which is a shame for such a high draft pick.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 14

I have no idea. He pulled the sub card with him very early. Don't you agree all signs point to Casey? -

Riley got 3 touches last weekend. I know Roos keeps the faith but I'd be surprised to see him play again this week. -
The fact that he is still going on about "seeing the direction the club is taking" even though it is clear where we are going just screams BS to me. I agree that he signed last year.
