  1. The talls are hard to rate and take longer to develop - unless they are absolute stand out. Much easier to rate mids based on stats.
  2. Well done Will to be selected. Get's an opportunity to learn from the best.
  3. Definitely worth a shot. We have a strong list so we can afford to take risks we would not have years ago. Up to him to prove himself with help from our 1st class development team. Its a well done for being selected.
  4. Interesting that ESPN in their Nov power rankings have Jefferson dropping out of the top 20. It appears that it is a 'footy world' mindset/assumption that we will pick him up with our first at pick13. Don't be surprised if we go another player. Maybe Jefferson at 19 if he is available and we get that pick.
  5. Hope he stays as he is still a fair way from his top footy which will be great. Plus we already have a number of good draft picks for the 2023 draft.
  6. Great news. If he puts in a big pre season he should get more than a few games next year. With T Mac and Brown signed to end 2024 season good to give him the extra year.
  7. Best available at 13. If its Jefferson then we pick him. He may be gone by then. We have 2 firsts and 2 2nds next year so there might be a youngish KPF interested in changing teams. We are a good side and able to attract KPP's. Or a KPF identified as becoming a UFA next year or 2 or 3? Alternatively if we think Harry P can play forward to a high level and we rate Hayes as a CHB at 13 or maybe Busslinger is available. Maybe we rate a player like Georges as a forward/mid at 13?? I expect we will be very active in the 2023 trade and draft period.
  8. Kynan Brown 2023, Noah Yze 2024, Kalani White and Jake Brown 2025. Others in later years, eg White twins around 2029ish.
  9. MFC article from 2018 detailing prospective father sons to come. Hopefully a couple or more decide to make it to AFL. Melbourne's future father-son prospects (melbournefc.com.au)
  10. According to draftguru afl our provisional picks for 2023 based on 2022 finish are: 13,14,32,33 and 88. Obviously will not fall that way but an indication of a good 2023 hand. We will likely lose a player or 2 not getting a regular game who want out so we may pick up enough points to get Kynan Brown without dipping into our starting hand. We also have scope to improve our hand by trading a combination of picks. Its possible we may trade pick(s) for a player. If you have not looked at draftguru take a peek - it has some interesting pick/game etc stats.
  11. Yep Lions bids should put us around pick 34. Great strategy this trade week. With the Tassy team coming in the next 2 or 3 years there will be compromised drafts. So strike now ( I guess the is why the Tigers and Cats loaded up with talent). Also next year's draft is supposed to be a beauty. We will need a couple of Tall KPP's. The Tassie team will be given heaps of $$ to pinch players as well as draft picks.
  12. From Cal Twomey's phantom the only 2 tall forwards/ruck we could access at around pick 13 would be Jefferson (pick 10) and Keller (pick27). Should be a few of KPFs around pick 37. Lions have picks just before ours which will be used on their F/S bids. So we will come in a few picks. No doubt JT and team have their eye on a few. May surprise us and pick a mid???
  13. Probably already been posted but Kevin Sheehan link to Draft possible Rucks/Forwards. Kevin Sheehan’s 2022 NAB AFL Draft Top Prospects – Tall Forwards/Rucks Great draft hand next year. Two firsts and 2 seconds. Likely will try to trade up further. Likely a tall Ruck/Forward this year and next year. TMc, B Brown, Gawn all around 30 plus. Sure to get Kynan Brown as a F/S mid next year as well.
  14. I doubt pick 37 on its own will be offered for Weid. If it is take it and run.
  15. Weid on the news. Deal tomorrow. Presenter said likely future 3rd round pick. A bit more ammo for the Grundy deal.
  16. Just spotted this years picks after todays trading: 13, 27, 54,72
  17. What have we got currently as currency? This draft and futures.? I am firing shots blind!! Dammed confusing.
  18. Wieid likely on the way out. Probably Dons 3rd or 4th. Throw that in with pick 27 for Grundy.
  19. Another club may be interested but we may have to pay part of his wage.
  20. Adem Yze was exceptionally skilled. Smart skillful players rarely get into 'nasty' situations simply because they have an advanced level of awareness. Ooze always went when it was his turn - no problem what so ever. Could never question his competitiveness when the ball was there to be won. In fact his skill level ensured he won it way more than not. He was an absolute gun of a player. Robbie Flower was another exceptionally skilled player with a superior level of awareness.
  21. What will we get for James - 2nd rounder? Give it to the Magpies for Grundy.
  22. When you lose 2 finals on the trot a few players have to go especially if you have some good young players at the VFL level or you lose them as well. Both Hunt and Harmes are very capable AFL players. We look like being very active this trade period.
  23. On Ch 9 news. Dees doing due diligence on Hunter who wants a fresh start or the Bullies want him to have a fresh start??
