  1. Hoping Swans can do the right think and beat Freo in WA next week!!!! If they do it would be very likely we will get pick 4 or 5.
  2. I would go McKercher. Also i hope we get GC s 1st rounder and a player we want may slip through.eg, Watson. Whether we go a tall eg O'Sullivan if we get GCs 1st rounder depends on how we see Jefferson, Adams and Turner work out.
  3. McKercher is a gun and will adjust to AFL quickly IMO. A bit of elite midfield depth would not go astray. Watson would also be a good pickup IMO. Elite junior, fast, evasive, kicks goals. Would boost our forward line. We will likely go in hard to trade for GC's first round pick (likely pick 6 to 9). Drafting 2 high probability elite players better than going for a higher number of less probability players at this stage with our list. We might even consider getting GC 1st rounder plus one of their early pick mids not getting a regular game if we think we can develop him, eg Hollands.
  4. We know we are getting a KPF/KPB in Kalani White in 2025. That allows us to prioritise our draft picks working around that. Other list managers complained about that in relation to the Swans Academy. They knew they had mids coming through so could prioritise accordingly in prior drafts. Hence they rarely bottom out for more than a season. Lets hope no AFL F/S rule changes. We need another elite mid or speedy small forward this draft - or both.
  5. He will be drafted for sure IMO via late pick. Gets plenty of the ball, runs hard and is fearless. A couple of AFL pre seasons will see him add a bit of size and strength to his frame.
  6. With the 20% discount for Academy players the GC will save a heap on points required. For example if Walter is nominated at pick 2 that is worth 2527 points. GC match and pick him up for 2014 points. If Read (Jackson comparison) gets bid at say pick 5 1878 points. GC will match at 1502 points. Say Rogers (mid) gets a bid at pick 10 1395 points. GC matches at 1116 points. Savings = 279 ponts. TOTAL savings = 1168 points = circa pick 14. Not a bad deal to get 3 top 10 ranked picks plus a huge points savings on top. This will vary depending on where bids fall. If the GC make the finals they can only match 2 bids in round one. Certainly worth the Dees having a shot at the GC first round pick. They have already banked a few and will probably want a deal involving future swap (our future 1st for their future 2nd) plus our 2023 second rounder/s (ours and maybe Freos). Just a guess. Then we will package our picks in a bid to go higher at the pointy end. 2024 sees CAP relief with Tommo, TMc and BB possibly all finishing up so we can bid for a free agent instead of having a first round pick. If we a deal this year with GC we may end up with their 2nd rounder next year along with ours.
  7. Plus a possible top 20 or close to for Mc Cabe (Hawks) and Croft (Bullies). Kynan Brown works hard and gets in the best players on a regular basis. Like most players coming through probably needs 2 or 3 of AFL pre seasons to build his game and body to cope with AFL. Positives for Kynan are he knows how to find the ball on a regular basis, works hard and is pretty well fearless. So plenty to work with. He will be picked up late in the draft IMO.
  8. He has not been getting in the best players for the Suns Academy players according to the scouting notes on Rookie me Central. But he may well be a later developer. Happens all the time especially for the really tall players. Under 16's for perspective. Jason Taylor described him as an exciting athlete.
  9. Well deserved game. A very good string of consistent VFL performances. Congrats Woey.
  10. Seems a top of foot injury to Fritta. Vision on TV. Doers not look good.
  11. I am hoping for a pick 8 to 9 from Freo. I would like an earlier pick but they are just not that bad.
  12. I would rather keep our 1st rounder, Freo's 1st rounder and trade our 2024 1st rounder plus a 2023 2nd rounder and maybe Freo's 2nd rounder ( plus some thing back) for the GC pick will likely come on the market as Jed Walters their Academy pick is likely to attract a bid in the 1st 6. We may be able to trade higher but its likely Jason and his team will have identified serious 1st round talent. 2024 with TMc, B Brown and Tomlinson out of contract we may be able to attract a suitable free agent next year. Basically a 2 year mini top up of 1st round talent plus a free agent. Inner Sanctum April 2023 draft rankings. 2023 AFL Draft Rankings: April Edition (theinnersanctum.com.au)
  13. Played very well against WCE. One of his best games.
  14. Congratulations JVR. Debut. All the best
  15. Markets have been down so its a good time for experts to invest the money. Over time this should grow significantly.
  16. I think this season with our depth key players will be managed to keep them fresh. Also i think players out of form will be moved to Casey quicker than last year. We need to give our depth a go. Some of them may surprise. I will be hard to leave Bowey out if he is in form..
  17. Its funny how we all look for what resemble 'baby bumps' on players guts at resumption of training. They are a real give away. Any player training in a kaftan or a jumper 3 or 4 sizes to big is hiding something. Young blokes should be able to drop a keg or 2 pretty quickly . Although these days players are supposed to turn up day 1 in pristine condition.
  18. We basically went straight into pre season not long after the GF. TMcs injury did not help. No doubt many unreported niggles. Perhaps we did not manage players adequately and should have rested players allowing recovery and players at Casey to be tried out. I think that would have been reviewed over the break this year.
  19. Great report, thanks. I think we might see a few younger players getting games next year (probably not this years draftee's though) to develop depth further. Its a long season and it will not hurt to rest/manage players to allow young players to get a go.
  20. What a great interview. Best one to date. Very informative. Thanks heaps. Listened to it 3 times already and probably another couple of times before new year. JT is the ultimate professional recruiter. Can't get enough of this stuff pre season.
  21. Yep, it would be pretty hard for the other 17 Recruiting teams to admit they did not notice a 24 goal game.
  22. If he develops into a very good player you can bet the AFL will commence an investigation into the circumstances on how we picked him. The AFL rail road will be bought in and cart off a couple of years of our draft picks for daring to buck the AFL created pathway.
