  1. " The Dockers have a quartet of emerging youngsters who are already tied to the club, with Toby Whan and Tom Phillips heading the group. Along with Pick 13, the WA club will also possess 29, 38 (tied to Richmond), 47 and 65, which they can use to bolster their versatile midfield stocks, according to Craft of the Draft analyst Jonty Ralphsmith." Fremantle's potential AFL Draft plans for 2025 - AFL News - Zero Hanger We might try to do a deal involving pick 13 with later picks back (our 2nd round plus?). Freo will require enough points for their Academy players although neither are expected to go top 30. What is more likely is they will want to use pick 13 themselves and offer us pick 38 (tied to tigers). We will push back hard for their pick 29. Hoping though for a deal involving their pick 13!!!!!!!!!
  2. Why would any employee commit publicly. No one knows what unexpected opportunities may turn up. If you commit and a 'once in a lifetime opportunity' pops up you look like a clown when you back away from your commitment. I guess we call that 'keeping your options open - both from a club and player point of view. Who knows the club may get a to good to refuse 'overs' offer.
  3. The lions have been lucky. Having access to kids who have been guns and on relatively small $$$ contracts (for now) puts them in a financial position to attract Allen and Draper under RFA. Also they get a top 5 Academy pick this year in Annabelle. In the meantime if Flanders goes to the Saints for pick 7 then the GC pick 6 would be 'starters' for a Tracc bid. If we cannot get at least one pointy end pick then Tracc stays. Last season teens picks for Smith and Houston were ridiculously low. Its hard to see any team apart from GC having the pick capital to do business with us. Pick 6, a player eg Rosas or another suitable for the Dees and a future 1st would do it. Perhaps some contract $$$ if needed. Our new coach would know a bit about some of the GC players. GC might also have to look at trading out one or two players who signed contracts for 'overs' when they were a mess. At this stage GC have only one player likely to feature in the 2026 draft Archie Hill and he may not attract a 1st round bid. So they may have options with their 2026 picks. 4. Cant see Tracc moving to Adelaide. I think he would prefer a GC lifestyle. GC look like letting a few go including Flanders and Fiorini. They have heaps of young guns coming through including this years draft but they need a proven gun like Tracc if they want to seriously challenge for a top 4 spot going forward.
  5. Gettable suggests Tracc to the Crows for their pick 14 and next years 1st. They appeared serious - what a joke. As if!!
  6. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2025/09/23/afl-2025-trade-talk-chrisitan-petraccas-desired-club-melbourne-to-gold-coast
  7. GC have to offload players for spots for academy picks. We have had a poor record with picking up unwanted other club players lately. Change of luck due? Perhaps with Kosi headed for more mid time Rosas with lightening speed may be worth a try forward? He may need a change.
  8. Flanders plus??? GC need picks and list spots for Academy picks so they will not want to lose picks. Maybe the plus is a very quick 24 year old Rosas??? or a future together with Flanders. Depends on what our list managers want - pace is preferred? Its been said many times any Tracc movement will be without 'fanfare'. If it happens it will just be done quietly without the ' last minute ho ha' on the last day. We are in transition.
  9. All speculation. I guess its water off a ducks back for players and clubs by now. Some chance maybe that Yze and Tigers may be interested. They have good draft capital and would be only to happy to give up pick 2 or 3 plus ? for Tracc. Would he want the Tigers though??
  10. Well done Charles Spargo Dees Premiership player. All the best.
  11. Unless informed otherwise we have to assume Richo told Billings prior to the comms team. If Richo told the comms team cannot blame them. The media just were not told or were told after deadlines etc??
  12. That sounds like a 'whoops'!!
  13. Sinemma to be added to the ins.
  14. Culley!!!! HE COULD BE A PLAYER!!!
  15. How can we be so close after playing so poorly most of the night?
  16. Its been an embarrassing performance so far. Goal to Yze.......then miss. Need to get ga move on.
  17. Culley needs to tie his hair back. Seemed to distracted him having to push it back all the time. Having said that he dwarfed the Willy mids. Very strong and he was tagged in the mid. Played well today. Seems to have more confidence since he played in the AFL with us. He definetly has potential to improve and play regular AFL footy.
  18. Geat stuff to keep these guys for another year. We are transitioning youth into the team so we need to keep some experience to show the way. The game and player management has changed for the better. Salaries are an incentive to keep players playing. The drafts are so compromised that some clubs have to keep players playing longer. The Maggies have shown in recent years how older very talanted experienced players keep the team on the straight and narrow. - although those players are not far from dropping off so they will just keep milking free agency and pay unders for good players, eg Houston.
  19. The Hawks have the Blues 1st rounder from a trade last year. I wonder if they start offering that plus??around?
  20. Wow, great q. Now to hold on. First half very unclean with the ball but endeavor was good. Third q ball use cleaned up a lot and we were rewarded.
  21. 2025 article of interest concerning potential father sons and academy players. Currently under 15's. Evidently the White twins are now 14 years old. Melbourne Academy | Players to watch
  22. Great news Well done Kalani.
  23. Just like Ross Lyon has mellowed and coaches differently to his previous stints no doubt Buckley will as well. These guys are smart and adapt to whatever is thrown at them just as the players do. One thing is for sure we have a far better list than the Saints did when Ross took over and our list is still way better. We need a natural KPF who can find space ala BBB and a plan for the eventual retirement of the irreplaceable Gawny. Maysy is 33 and not long left. Lever will be 30 next year so a few up his sleeve. TMc is 33 next year. But we have Turner and Howes developing and Petty can go back. Mids covered with Windsor, Langford and Lindsay coming through. Kolt as a forward/mid. Kosi a gun mid/Fwd and Prasad as a small quick fwd in the 2026 draft. So far its all media talk about Buckley. No real substance to it coming from the club, is there??
  24. Luker has loads of potential. A good pre season will see him in contention for a game. We lack a strong tall, aggressive KPF who can make space via strength, timing of body use and speed.
  25. Give it your best shot Jed. Well earned debut.
