Evidently the AFL have ruled that Ah-Mu despite having a diverse background does not have a diverse background???

I guess the AFL had to officially notify the Dees as it would materially effect our trading and draft selections. If for example we had Ah-Mu in the bag for 2025 we would have likely only picked up mid type players this draft and trading season. Probably means we will look to pick up a mid with pick 6 and maybe a KPD later in the draft or top 20 if we can move our future 1st back into this draft.

Can't believe the amount of bad luck we have had. The 'luck' worm has to turn sooner or later. Given obvious interest in Ah-Mu from early in the season the AFL should have published their decision much earlier. This sort of stitches him up as a top 10 in 2025. Disgrace.

No surprise but the AFL have ruled that we have NO access to our Academy member Tairon Ah-Mu in the draft next year.

I watched Ah- Mu's goals at the 9.1 min of the 1st q and 20 .4 min of the 4th Q.. He is massive for Coates.. I assumed he would out muscle the 'kids' for his goals. Geez was i wrong. He got his goals via uncontested natural forward movement and leading. He kicked 3 goals out of the teams winning 9 goals 10 behinds. He has had a few bags of 3 this year. I am now thinking one of the mids mentioned above is the way to go. Hopefully we get 'lucky' and get a mid who turns out to be elite. I just hope like 'hell' we keep or pick 5 for the draft. We may even look to trade our future 1st back into this draft. Does anyone know where todays stats for Oakleigh can be accessed?

Seston finished equal 4th in Casey B & F with Laurie. I think he will get another year.

If JT and his team thinks draft is a beauty then we may try to trade our future 1st back in. We will be looking at bringing White and Ah-Mu in next year so they will be guessing what sort of picks we need in 2025.

The over-ager stuck tight to his direct opponent and was able to nullify his marking influence when Bendigo had the wind advantage. After some tough moments in term two, one of Andrew’s best moments was a rundown tackle late in the piece to exemplify his effort and intent.

If JT thinks he can get a Gus or Tracc type at 6 then we will go to the draft IMO. We were lucky the Saints and GC had wins in R24 otherwise we might have been tempted to split or trade it. I think we will try to trade into the teens. We may trade our future 1st rounder into an early pick?? Also have to consider we may get talls White and Ah-Mu next year so more likely to stock up on smalls this draft unless pure ruck available.

I would like to see another young ruck like Dodson come in under the Gawn tutorage.

Medias need to beat up stories to keep AFL interest up. I would prefer to use pick 6. If we are desperate for a Back who can play KP, stopper, interceptor, great closing pace with mid like stats why wouldn't we just pick Trainor and get a decade and save the other pick Houston would cost.

Agree, it will all change. Players flying late will move up. We all enjoy the discussions, especially holding pick 5 and maybe a trade up into the top 20.

Good post. You have us taking Langford at 6 - big ball winner.. He seems to be one of the few players who has wideish differing opinions. Cal Twomey has him at3, Rookie me at 10 and ESPN at 10. ESPN and rookie me have athletic profile queries. Cal and Rookie have Reid at 6 , ESPN Smillie at 7 (Ashcroft and Lombardi top 5.) As you said it will all change.

Twomey's Aug rankings have Reid at 6 and Draper at 7. Armstrong KPF at 8. ESPN Aug have Smillie at 7 and Travaglia at 8. Lindsay 9, Langford 10. Ashcroft and Lombardi both in top 5.

Get a full preseason into Clarry and Riv training with the mids during preseason and we should be much more efficient. Tracc will add as a forward/mid as well.

Depends how we see the depth of the first round. We may even trade our future 1st if we the talent in this years draft. Next year we have White and Ah-Mu coming in as talls. Depends where we are thinking where they will go in next years draft. So we will likely stock up on future 2nd and 3rd rounders?? This year YZE and Mentha may be late or rookie picks.
