  1. Melks is playing terrific footy. Very smart player.
  2. I guess we will sell the transitioning to Kalani white and Sinnema.
  3. In a presser when asked about the young players Goody said the ream was transitioning, indicating a mini rebuild to complement our alreaqdy promising crop of under 24's or thereabouts. I think TMc may be transitioning to 'depth' now waiting for Disco to have a couple of ordinary games or an injury to one of the other 2. I watched the replay and in the last Q of the last game twice and AJ played well enough to keep his spot.
  4. Is Melks back to his pre ACL sizzling forward form? Great form and we lost him just before finals. It's wait and see. He played very smart footy against the Lions.
  5. The team reached a new level of intensity in the last q. Almost like 2021. They really went in full on and lifted each other. A remarkable win.
  6. No doubt in a few years when his body is'steel' hardened he will be very dangerous as a forward who plays mid to the elite level. I do not want to 'moz' him but I think he will be a way better forward than Tracc in time. Very strong overhead and his hands are exceptionally quick in tight with the ball. At 191cm the Bison is the same height as Jake Waterman of WCE but Waterman can't play mid. Chance of taking the Rising Star off Ashcroft. Mid possessions plus goals matter.
  7. Bring back BBB
  8. Hawks will be tough. JVR back in for Petty. Disco looked good in the backline and forward line. It was easier forward after McGovern went off. Not sure where he will start against the Hawks.
  9. It's likely Clayton would have to take a pay cut and maybe shave a year or so off his contract? We will not get much in terms of draft picks. I would not be surprised if the Cats made us a redicilous offer last trading period. A drop off in performance can happen to any player but if a player is on a huge long term contract and $ but is not playing or training without intent to then a club would have to test it in court. Not saying this will happen here with Clayton it's just a general observation.
  10. Well done Xavier, congrats, and well deserved. All up from here.
  11. We have not much in the way of picks this year. We have Sinnema as Academy who looks like a certain pick up for us. Kalani White we will almost certainly get as a Tall FS. Archie Walsh may well be regarded as a late developer like his dad and he may get him as a late or rookie FS. Has obvious endurance which is a must at AFL. Not sure about pace but he is likely wmquick like his dad. We are building ATM so I suspect we may well pick those 3.
  12. Archie Walsh son of Peter Walsh eligible for Dees as FS. Plays for Port Adelaide. Tracking well. Trained at Dees in Feb.. See article in today's HUN regarding AFL draft prospects from SANL. Might be a chance. Gone under the radar. MID/HB. Not for this thread but no where else to put
  13. With May and T Mc heading towards the sunset of their careers there would not be a better time for a young tall to get a season or 2 as a KPD at Casey.
  14. Embarrasing!!
  15. Jeff White dissected many Dees plays from last weeks game on X. He did a good job on that. He did not bag players etc but it was obvious that we are NOT playing 'team smart' football. Players bombing, not making position, not backing up, Tracc calling for obvious 'kick it out in front' ignored and bombed etc. Team smart footy in the AFL is above the shoulders. Individual form and confidence is different to Team form and confidence. It can be fixed but it needs some strong leadership. Looks like the Dees should do their own dissection of 'smart' and 'not so smart' team plays each week. Record the stats and reward or highlight players who play 'team smart' footy. Those who rack up excess 'not so team smart' actions should have their position in the team reviewed. We will not win until we start playing 'team smart' footy.
  16. With highly compromised drafts no much point in trading players out unless you get comparable players in.
  17. Kalani will likely take at least 2 pre seasons to be AFL ready. Athletically gifted and he has been around footy a long time. I am looking forward to seeing him in action with the Dees in 2026.
  18. We have to many players out of form. Obvious. We have not had a strong KPF since BBB finished up. Petty or T Mc are not rhe answer forward although Petty be rotated Forward/Back with Turner?. Jeffo will take more tine We need to recruit a tall via draft and or trade. Maybe should have got Membry or Darling for a year or 2?
  19. Aussie Rules Rookie Me CentralScouting Notes: 2025 Coates Talent League - Round 2With three Coates Talent League games decided by a goal or less in Round 2, plenty of prospects rose to the occasion.Check out round 2 Dandenong Stingray scouting notes on Toby Sinnema and Marcus Prasad. Pretty impressive. Toby will be Academy drafted this year and Marcus who is bottom age and a real stand out drafted in 2026.
  20. At our best we had big BBB playing well as a legitimate target and lead up very tall forward. He made it easier for others. After he finished up we tried Petty up forward and for various reasons including injury, lack of form, confidence it just did not work. I think that huge quality KPF is what we lack. Whether JVR, Jeffo or Turner can evolve into that role? They do not grow on trees.
  21. What a fall. I think we had around 14 premiership players out there tonight. Plus a few good youngsters. Lever and McVee to come back. The biggest on field reason/issue IMO is at our absolute top we had a huge BBB with an inform Fritsch. Readymade hulk KPF's are hard to find. JVR and Turner are still very inexperienced and not BBB size. The Cats Neale would be handy.
  22. FROM ROOKIE ME PRE SEASON ON Toby Sinnema โ€œHe was lucky enough to spend two weeks at Melbourne through the NGA program there at the start of preseason, so heโ€™s come back nice and strong. Breaks lines, kicks the ball well, really powerful with his running and his ability to get involved in chains.โ€
  23. Both Sinnena and Prasad play for Dandenong Stingrays. Sinnena 22 possessions. Prasad 16 possessions and a goal ( 1st year U18s)
  24. For clarity for the 2025 draft we have our 2nd rounder and we swapped our 3rd rounder with the Lions for Sharp. Our second rounder with the discount should nail Toby Sinnema. Not sure whether the Lions 3rd rounder will be enough for kalani. Wait and see. I note Toby Sinnema played well on the week end as did Prasad.
  25. We will need our 2nd rounder likely for Toby Sinnema. Probably have to trade one in for Kalani White. It all depends on how their season pans out as to what we will need in terms of picks. I think we did very well getting Langford and Lindsay in last year.
