Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
After being formally told of the Tassy concession there would have been a BOD meeting - likely hook up. This decision would have been BOD approved. Likely the feeling is now is the time to load up big rather than wait 5 or more years. We also need to play some of the youngsters in the VFL. eg Adams, maybe its time for Laurie to step up, Jeffo and maybe Kentfield. AMW and Howes will get a chance to become regulars. Maybe we get lucky with this years draft if we get a good harvest of draft picks.

Pretty much means GC or the Dees. The GC have pretty of shiny trinkets to dazzle us with. The Flanders pick 7 if he goes to the Saints for starters - we may even insist on pick 6 as we will not likely bid on their academy players around that area. AFL Draft Order 2025 - Zero Hanger

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
GC will lose a couple of other players eg Fiorini which will gain them some extra points. So 23/24 involved somehow is not out of the question IMO if GC acquires other picks separately. Pick 7 allegedly on offer from the saints for Flanders. Cant see GC going late into finals without a player like Tracc. The Crows can forget it. Its wait and see. See picks per points below. I think we are going down the right track. Get some draft currency before Tracc hits 30. Players can go to 34/35 plus these days. Get some young talent in to complement our experienced players before we completely bottom. The GC lifestyle will be attractive to Mr and Mrs Tracc and their draft hand will be attractive to the MFC. We need an early/mid top 10 pick plus an early future at the least.

It will be hard for anyone not to like the Gold Coast lifestyle. Hardwick will spin the deep in finals 'true story' to come. They need another experienced player to complement the GC youngsters. The Lions had 11 players 22 or under in the GF. A fair number guns or 'guns to be'. Fingers crossed its GC.

Farewell Judd McVee
I changed my mind on Judd's worth. Top 10 B&F finish 2034 and 2024(7th). He is only 22. Plenty of growth. I think its pick 11 ( with FA compo for WCE and academy equals around pick 15) and maybe our 2nd rounder back or a future. At 11 which will be around 15 Freo get a sure thing even if he does not improve from his top 10 finishes. If he gets better then they nailed an absolute bargain. At 15 no sure thing about getting a player that can get anywhere near top 10 B & F finish. Wonder whether we will ask for one of their 3 tall forwards as part of a deal.

Farewell Judd McVee
Kent on X reminded us that McVee got a top 10 B & F finish in 2023 and 2024 (7th). Injury ruined 2025. He should be valued on 2023/24 seasons.

Farewell Judd McVee
I am not mad at either but i will not be happy with the club if we not get a good deal out of both.

AFL Trade Radio 2025
Oh, that list has caught the club out. Best we stick with using draft picks and get tougher bin negotiations for picks.

Let's hope he prefers GC. We will be bent over if he goes to the Crows. At least the GC have a good hand to deal with plus a pick 7 for Flanders.

Farewell Judd McVee
I think we will start asking for pick 11 as part of a deal but they will hang out for their 2nd round. Tug of war. He will improve their team from day1. Young has moved from back to mid.

Farewell Judd McVee
It opens up a spot in the backline. Expect some competition in the preseason for the opening.

Farewell Judd McVee
He is off, who cares why as long as its not a culture reason. Its all about what we can get. Nothing else matters now.

Farewell Judd McVee
No doubt he made up his mind to leave months ago. So nothing to do with the new coach. Its all about maximising our return now. Nothing else matters. Freo hold: Pick 13, 29, 38 (tied to Richmond), 47 and 65. Plus future picks. We will want a deal involving pick 13 but they will probably offer us pick 38 and we will get their pick 29. Rip off. Perspective: Smith and Houston went for deals with the highest picks in the teens.

Farewell Judd McVee
" The Dockers have a quartet of emerging youngsters who are already tied to the club, with Toby Whan and Tom Phillips heading the group. Along with Pick 13, the WA club will also possess 29, 38 (tied to Richmond), 47 and 65, which they can use to bolster their versatile midfield stocks, according to Craft of the Draft analyst Jonty Ralphsmith." Fremantle's potential AFL Draft plans for 2025 - AFL News - Zero Hanger We might try to do a deal involving pick 13 with later picks back (our 2nd round plus?). Freo will require enough points for their Academy players although neither are expected to go top 30. What is more likely is they will want to use pick 13 themselves and offer us pick 38 (tied to tigers). We will push back hard for their pick 29. Hoping though for a deal involving their pick 13!!!!!!!!!

Why would any employee commit publicly. No one knows what unexpected opportunities may turn up. If you commit and a 'once in a lifetime opportunity' pops up you look like a clown when you back away from your commitment. I guess we call that 'keeping your options open - both from a club and player point of view. Who knows the club may get a to good to refuse 'overs' offer.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
The lions have been lucky. Having access to kids who have been guns and on relatively small $$$ contracts (for now) puts them in a financial position to attract Allen and Draper under RFA. Also they get a top 5 Academy pick this year in Annabelle. In the meantime if Flanders goes to the Saints for pick 7 then the GC pick 6 would be 'starters' for a Tracc bid. If we cannot get at least one pointy end pick then Tracc stays. Last season teens picks for Smith and Houston were ridiculously low. Its hard to see any team apart from GC having the pick capital to do business with us. Pick 6, a player eg Rosas or another suitable for the Dees and a future 1st would do it. Perhaps some contract $$$ if needed. Our new coach would know a bit about some of the GC players. GC might also have to look at trading out one or two players who signed contracts for 'overs' when they were a mess. At this stage GC have only one player likely to feature in the 2026 draft Archie Hill and he may not attract a 1st round bid. So they may have options with their 2026 picks. Sam Flanders
Cant see Tracc moving to Adelaide. I think he would prefer a GC lifestyle. GC look like letting a few go including Flanders and Fiorini. They have heaps of young guns coming through including this years draft but they need a proven gun like Tracc if they want to seriously challenge for a top 4 spot going forward.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Gettable suggests Tracc to the Crows for their pick 14 and next years 1st. They appeared serious - what a joke. As if!!

Malcolm Rosas Junior
GC have to offload players for spots for academy picks. We have had a poor record with picking up unwanted other club players lately. Change of luck due? Perhaps with Kosi headed for more mid time Rosas with lightening speed may be worth a try forward? He may need a change.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Flanders plus??? GC need picks and list spots for Academy picks so they will not want to lose picks. Maybe the plus is a very quick 24 year old Rosas??? or a future together with Flanders. Depends on what our list managers want - pace is preferred? Its been said many times any Tracc movement will be without 'fanfare'. If it happens it will just be done quietly without the ' last minute ho ha' on the last day. We are in transition.
-
Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
All speculation. I guess its water off a ducks back for players and clubs by now. Some chance maybe that Yze and Tigers may be interested. They have good draft capital and would be only to happy to give up pick 2 or 3 plus ? for Tracc. Would he want the Tigers though??

2025 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy
Unless informed otherwise we have to assume Richo told Billings prior to the comms team. If Richo told the comms team cannot blame them. The media just were not told or were told after deadlines etc??
