Well at least we won the last quarter! That must be judged a positive!
-
Maybe whilst he is doing that, he can include Toumpas. Maybe start by getting the three of them watch footage of Tyson and Salem [our first picks from last year]?
-
Yes but Frawley may play forward and Garland is playing for the Scorpions!
-
This seems to me his approach and i applaud it. How would he have known at the start of the season that he would not have had Clark or that Hogan would not be on the track by now (or Dawes a late starter). i applaud the fact that he is using Frawley forward (in lieu of Clark) and i am assuming Perderson playing in the forward pocket is to set up the structure till Hogan comes in (when Pedrson can drift back to Frawley's expected role). I am sure that Frawley, Dawes and Hogan will prove as successful as Clark, Dawes and Hogan and that with Garland coming back, we can adapt to the other parts of Roos game plan, especially now that Georgiou has been promoted and Dunn has stepped up. Looking forward to tomorrow evening against the Swans!

Players to target at the end of the year
CBDees replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why would they award us a PP if we win 5 games? Last year we only won 2 games and didn't get a pick. The whole thing is a farce ( as we should have got Boyd last year). -
I am going for causing an upset against the Swans (after all we beat Carlton when we were playing away and we have a home game this week)!
-
Who has exceeded your expectations in 2014? and Why?
CBDees replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree with all players mentioed by the previous posters. I also regard the Tyson & Salem trade for pick 2 was one of our most inspired trades for some time. I cannot wait to see Salem playing regularly in the Ones. -
This morning's paper had him at 3-4 weeks.

I have not seen any of yesterday's match as I only flew in this morning from the Middle East. By all accounts it was not Jack's day however i did watch round one when he was BOG and I would be loathe to drop him because when he is good he is very, very good and when he is bad he still is effective in his use of the ball. On the same criteria, i would like to see Toumpas get more of a run as I think that they are both in our top 22 overall.
-
Relax guys, it is a home game for us! After all, last week we beat one of last year's finalists playing away!
-
I collected all these guys in my 'footy cards' which were popular at the time. If only l had kept them!
-
They are not mutually exclusive! Why not hope for both?
-
Wouldn't it be nice if Mitch Clark conquered his Demons and came back raring to go in 2015?

Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture
CBDees replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sounds like a plan. Love to see both him and Mitch Clark return in 2015, -
We have to remember also that next year we will likely add Trengove, Toumpas and Salem to our midfield. IMO we need some good key-position players to augment our forward and back lines!

Aiming high - 2014 finals team - MFC best 25

Toumpas for Blease (post sent from Greek Cyprus)! -
They hd better not get a PP when we missed out on one last year despite only achieving two wins!
-
It would have been much better if Collingwood had lost!
-
Guys sorry that l cannot vote as l have not seen the game but l must say (sitting at a waterside cafe in sunny Cyprus) that it is great to hear that we beat Carlton, especially as l confidently picked against the this week!
-
I must say that sitting here in Rome and reading everybody's comments on the Demons (& the Scorpions) makes me somewhat relaxed that l will be overseas for 8-9 weeks this footy season. And to think that l was actually excited over the Christmas New Year with the prospect of Misson managing Clark, Dawes and Hogan as an enviable forwardline!
-
I don't agree with Matt Jones who was in our top three in the B&F last year and who is one of our major possession-getters each week. You are arguing that our football department who vote on the Bluey know sod-all about the game.
-
Or maybe if a few of our players [such as Vince] had of kicked straight!

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
CBDees replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
You neglected to mention Sam Blease. Drafted the same year as Strauss [2008], who also incurred a broken leg in his first year and who also has given us only 24 games [yet ironically tentatively selected for this week]! -
I have also (heroically) picked the Dees but i admit to being a tragic!
