  1. Yes good having an improved midfield and for them to have nobody inside 50 to deliver it to worries me. I don't think Pederson and Fitzy are adequate substitutes despite being a somewhat fan of Fitzy. In Friday's intra-club, Pederson was nowhere in the forward half when JKH was trying to find a forward target, so he ended up delivering it back into the middle. I despair already about Friday evening and just hope that we are not beaten too comprehensively prior to coming up against Geelong the following week.
  2. Then let us hope that Dawes plays!
  3. It is not a carnival at all. It has been named the NAB (Cup) Challenge
  4. Thanks for the reports SD. I hope certainly that Dawes plays on Friday night but I imagine most Demonlanders will be bitterly disppointed if Hogan does not play as well..
  5. We certainly did on Saturday after Friday's session and Roos interview but they did not talk us up as much as St Kilda with Billings and Dunstan.
  6. if we win only one out of these three then it bodes well for our opening match against St Kilda (who have been getting an inordinate amount of press these last two days)!
  7. I am impressed that there was a double-page article on Roos in both Melbourne's morning papers. Let us hope that this favourable publicity translates into more membership sales and supporters at games.
  8. I agree with your rationale with regards to King and Harmes but Georgiou is not the youngster you imply. He's 23 and only a year younger than Jetta.
  9. Not quite sure that i would have the same group 'based on the intraclub' [especially as Watts did not play. My team for the NAB Cup would be: FB: Dunn Frawley Terlich HB: Grimes McDonald Strauss C: Watts Jones Vince HF: Toumpas Hogan Salem FF: JKH Dawes Howe Foll: Spencer Tyson Cross Int: Michie, Matt Jones, Trengove, McKenzie, Blease, Jamar S: Fitzpatrick/Kent
  10. You were looking in the wrong direction!
  11. Add Salem to this after today's efforts!

The supporters who have not re-joined number some 12,000 if my recollection is correct. That's a lot of members and all Demonlanders should try and work at getting a coulpe each!

Don't use the Peter Principle to promote people out of their skills. PJ is a top-rate CEO and Roos is a top-line coach. Let them stay at what gives us the best value and if PJ leaves lets's get another top-shelf CEO [not Roos].
  14. As a first time that I have set up a poll it has been interesting watching the results to date. Georgiou bolted out of the blocks early to a massive lead then he has slowly been wound back by the Jetta fans [coming out of the closet?] and now some money is emerging on Harmes. Personally, I backed Georgiou as he seems ready to play but I suspect Harmes long-term is going to work out well for us. Certainly reading the training reports, there seems to be a few that hold that view. In any event, all will be revealed at the conclusion of the NAB when we have a chance to look at them all.
  15. Why talk to Tippett? He could speak to Vince or Riley.
  16. My fingers got tangled. Now sorted thanks.
  17. I will add him if you really insist. I know that he was a favourite of yours!
  18. With Adian Riley being placed today on the long-term injury list, which rookie do we promote in his absence? Neville Jetta Max King Alexis Georgiou James Harmes
  19. With Adrian Riley being placed today on the long-term injury list, which rookie do we promote in his absence?
  20. The other person in the article [apart from Chip] was Gibbs from Carlton [to add to Betts who Adelaide snavelled last year].
  21. Not sure how comfortable I feel with the article in today's morning newspaper on Adelaide's aim to snare Frawley as a free agent at the end of this season. Apparently they have held extensive talks pre-Christmas with Frawley's agent and sound mildly confident!

Roos did not say BOG but he did say that the four players who impressed him the most were the three at the AGM (Cross, Vince & Tyson) plus Watts.

And a better exercise for a Club that started life as the MCC football Club and has just again strengthened ties! Crown is for wankers!

One thing I missed from previous AGMs was not Schwab's bar charts but the fact that those present did not sing 'It's a Grand Old Flag' at the conclusion of the meeting. Some more players there might have been nice also.
  25. Agree on Hunt and King and also playing JKH and Barry but I hope that Salem is at least used.
