  1. outs ... Byrnes, Bail, Terlich, Fitzpatrick ins ... Blease, Trengove, Clisby, Gawn
  2. This thread get to 500 pages by November. 1- McCartin 2-Wright 3-Brayshaw 4- Petrecca 5- Lever Nth will be desparate to get Brayshaw. Ryan Bastinac and North pick 12 (9th place) for our pick 2. Assume MFC gets priority pick and pick 1.
  3. With Mitch Clarks retirement, it does bring Patrick McCartin into my draft targets. Comparison to Johnathan Brown is a big drawcard. Imagine Hogan and McCartin in the same forward line. Giants have Patton and Cameron and we should aim for 2 key forwards.
  4. Throw 3 years and $600,000 a year at Chip
  5. Yessss... James Mcdonald was skipper and executed far too early. Brad Green was a reluctant leader. Grimes and Trengove was Optimistic at best.
  6. Its Lachie Plowman for me. Has the build and size of Mundy and 11 years younger.
  7. from today AFL standard: Jones, Tyson, Cross, Howe, Frawley, Grimes, Vince, Watts Tryers who are in 22nd-30 player depth status: Terlich, M Jones, McDonald, Dunn, Pedersen Delist: Spencer, bail, byrnes, evans, Fitzpatrick Developing: Viney, JKH, Gerogiou, kent You cannot have too many Tryers and Delistees and Developing in your best 22
  8. Morton and Gysberts were talented kids who did not win contested footy. They played as tall mids in uncontested style... modern day athletes who were not ready for the grit of the AFL. At least I put it out there. You get it right most of the time so you question why cannot the professionals. We have held players back and yes like 17 other clubs have also played 18 year olds in their first year. Give me strength. It does not seem to have hurt the Giants or Suns youngsters development. Brayshaw, Lever, McCartin are all footballers (yes like Hogan who I supported our mini-draft choice). Do you have 3 others from this years crop that you support. If you don't follow the recruiting, then keep backing the clubs UNDER PERFORMANCE and keep eating the popcorn from the club in the cheap seats.
  9. Agree our drafting was rubbish. I wanted Wines over Toumpas, Palmer over Morton, Atley over Cook, Talia over Gysberts, Freeman/Sheed/Dunstan over Salem. Watts was the right pick. So was Scully, Trengove, Blease, Grimes. 2014: Brayshaw, Lever, McCartin are the right kids. I want tough footballers. Not development types.
  10. I love it. Rowen Welsh for our successor. Do the basics right. When we have it: use your skills, run hard, create, kick to position, block When they have it: man up, pressure, chase, tackle When its in dispute: contest, 2nd efforts, physical effort, stay on your feet.
  11. We are stuffed. Only 4-5 players showed AFL standards. Byrnes, Bail, Evans MUST be DROPPED and ultimately delisted.
  12. "Demons cull recruiting team". After poor recruiting over the last decade, Jason Taylor and Todd Viney will have town hall meetings with Demonland representatives. " We could only do better" said one Demonland poster. Cook, Gysberts, Morton were spineless types all clearly not up to the rigors of the AFL. Young men with grit, determination, a desire to win are needed. We cannot continue to get it so wrong.
  13. Do we have to. I watched the game in despair. Giving votes hardly inspires me. The least worst ...
  14. I want Clisby, Mckenzie and Blease as Ins. Bail, Byrnes and Evans were very poor
  15. This is rubbish ... what us Roos teaching them. We are worse ... unbelievable. Its the day to kick long and get yards. Contested footy !!
  16. I agree with all. Footy is supposed to be like a roller coaster ride. You scream, you cry and you get excited. Mfc has been waiting for the ride for 8 years. We think the line will shorten but we never get close. Hope and loyalty is what we have. I hurt in the heart when we lose. I am not interested in the other games as I watch and wonder why MFC cannot even get close. I want a competitive and a winning team. I want to be optomistic. I buy my membership with no conditions. I put on my demons jumper & scarf and go to the home games. My kids went with me as kids but now the lure of pies and soft drinks has worn of. They are despondent. Mitch Clark was some hope. They had Jurrah, Scully and Mitch as signs of better times. I love Melbourne Footy Club, for 45 years now but it is a hard load to bear. Go Demons!!
  17. Wright is good but injury prone and I worry about the MFC curse !!! Angus Brayshaw is elite. Tough, skilled, smart ... Gary Ablett junior like. He is gold
  18. Yes I prayer every night for a fit Mitch Clark. It would again one of the many MFC unlucky dramas if he retires. We are cursed. Get well soon Mitch
  19. Seeing Hawthorn play, they are in another league. We must take on at least 3 of their habits 1. 2nd and 3rd efforts. Scrap, bump, stay on your feet. 2. Tackling hard and physical to create pressure and turnovers 3. kicking to the Hot Spot ... 15 metres in front of goals. They all know where the ball is going. None of this leading to the boubdary line rubbish. I still think we can change in one season. Roos must work out our skills are average and play a different style.
  20. No Strauss, Gawn or Garland. More mystery injuries. We know Clark, Hogan, Dawes are all known as injured.
  21. Drugs cannot solve for poor skills, turnovers and fumbles. If only ...
  22. Fitz is insurance cover. A big body but lacks smarts & footskills.
  23. delist Bail, Byrnes, Evans, Nicholson ... Jamar and/or Spencer to go. Frawley likely to go. Thats six off.
  24. DEE-LIST ... -5 ...Bail, Byrnes, Nicho, Evans ... all lack disposal skills and not reliable in a contest PLUS either Jamar/Spencer (Pedersen stays in on 3-year contract & Fitz as insurance given fragile fwds)
