No. He needs to get fit and firing. I would think a year in the VFL is needed for Watts. I remember him in 2014... reminded me of Andrew Mackie.

agree Vickery and Fitz ... oohh no. Hawks on the slide ??????

Sorry Melksham should be in midfield group. Brings run and carry and footspeed. Good mix of mids. -

AFL Semi Finals Weekend 2016
spirit of norm smith replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bulldogs win because they 1. win the contested footy 2. use quick hands (handballs) to a player in a BETTER POSITION 3. believe in themselves (Beveridge says we work on our strengths and stay positive) 4. pressure and tackling is not negotiable (discipline) 5. Bontempelli and Macrae ... midfield stars -
It's No from me

Agree... Hibberd to Melbourne. Though I still expect 1-2 surprise trades as players and clubs can't agree to create opportunities.
-
Vardy maybe as a delisted free agent or for pick 80. A punt !!

Yes... I think Essendon will want us in round 1 as their "whipping boys"... or their b-archs. Bring it on. Hibberd and Melksham would be keen.

Zac Clarke as the backup

Realistic Trade Week Results (Wish List)
spirit of norm smith replied to GawnWithTheWind's topic in Melbourne Demons
Melksham to be available. Hibberd trade for pick 27. Zac Clarke in as a DFA. Garland to Lions for pick 48. delistings: Dawes, Grimes, Terlich, Newton, Michie (r), King(r). Wagner and M.White retain as rookies. 3 National Draft Picks 45, 48, 63. Hamish Brayshaw (mid/fwd), Corey Lyons (mid) Jack Henry (tall mid). 2 Rookie Draft Picks 8, 26. Lachlan Dalgleish (pacy outside runner), Declan Kielty (key position back) -
Matt La Fontaine is unlikely to be drafted but has impressed in the 3 matches I saw of the Stingrays. Maybe a rookie. Dees should consider just for the nostalgia !!
-
Scrimshaw is very talented. I think the West Coast will grab him at pick 12-13. They have grabbed talented Vics like Gaff and Duggan, and prefer skilled lefties.
-
Lots of talent in these teams. Louis Cunningham is one to watch. He has improved through the year. Would be available around 50+
-
Still a place for experience on the list. If Lamumba is fit and healthy, he can be valuable around September action. You need experience under pressure. Vince, Jonesy, Lamumba provide that.

no no no no

Must keep either Dunn or Garland. Will only let one go and my call is Garland to Lions for pick 48.

2016 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to dee-luded's topic in Melbourne Demons
Watch out for Josh Begley (Eastern Ranges). May be drafted around 45-rookie range. Very strong mid/fwd with Jake Stringer qualities. He has really improved in 2016 and has some wraps. Interesting to see how he goes at draft camp. -

Good first year. Tired as expected. Instructions should be to run and kick kick kick. 50/50 chance for upgrade. I think we should promote and show the faith. Maybe sign up until end 2018.
-
yes to Dal Santo ... his kicking skills are Elite. Better than anyone at MFC including Salem. We need someone to deliver to Jesse and Weed even for 12 months.

Christian Petracca - Rising Star
spirit of norm smith replied to Older demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Oliver and Petracca will make a bigger impact than Mills. They are impact players and will be keys to MFC success
