  1. Most recruits are utility types, midfielders and running defenders. Buxton-Wales is a young ruckman from Vermont. Casey will be a running type side. McCaffrey could be a steal. Former Swans academy player (now 21) with 3 years in Country footy. Strong running mid.
  2. Interesting to know where Tom Freeman plays in 2019. I was impressed with him in the 4-5 games late in the season. Also Casey could not attract any ex Afl listed players. Thought our Casey alignment showed a pathway back like Corey Wagner showed.
  3. Not sure which youngsters are training at Casey. Hope to see Mitch Riordan name being mentioned. Dandy Stingrays and Haileybury College boy who has the Luke Parker type style. Plays to win and he does. Strong and skilled mid. Would have definitely been drafted but injuries killed his year.
  4. Casey was in the running for Jarryd Blair for 2019. According to Paul Amy, he will be Port Melbourne bound next season.
  5. Bradtke is only 17 and just finished school. Did not play TAC Cup or national championship. He will have to carefully managed in 2019 and not have to be the no.1 ruck at Casey. I see him playing more forward.
  6. Sparrow looked very strong for a young lad. Good strength at the footy. He might play a few games in 2019.
  7. Interesting to see which young Dandenong Stingrays or Gippsland Power under 18s turn up at Casey Demons. Plenty seems to be headed elsewhere including Geelong, Box Hill, Essendon, Bulldogs, Werribee & Frankston.
  8. Iโ€™d back in Sparrow to be as good or better than Jez McLennan
  9. Yes watched the Suns on AFL TV. CRAIG CAMERON IS A TOOL. ARROGANT. Suns have to fix culture and retention issues.
  10. Agreed. Casey is full of mid sized utility types. Rawlings will need to push to get a quality ruck into his squad. Dees also need some more depth in key forward position and work with Casey to see if any could be developed for future drafting. Maybe youngsters like Haydn McLean, Josh Smith, Riley Bowman or Hudson Garoni will be looked at by Casey.
  11. Casey aiming for 15 in the squad. That makes 60 players all up including MFC list. James Freeman Tom Freeman Mitch Gent Mitch Lewis Jay Lockhart Corey Machaya James Munro Corey Stockdale Mitch White Add returning Luke Tynan. Likely another ex AFL player being announced shortly. Plus add 4-5 youngsters.
  12. Jake Lever is the only player who would be in doubt for a round 1 start. Injuries (lack of) will be critical to a 2019 premiership opportunity. We need our stars to stay fit. Thatโ€™s why Preuss was brought in. We need a fit Maxy G come September.
  13. Big man looks physically intimidating. Might prove more than just a backup. Gawn will need relief in hopefully a very long year to the end of September.
  14. Agree Weid is a priority. He should almost be strangely more assured now Jesse has decided to go home. Get a contract offer early days imo.
  15. Rohan Connolly reckons Kangas are top 4 in 2019. Tyson Hall Polec and Pitterd plus youngster Tarryn Thomas reckon to boost team into premiership contention. Connolly suffers from โ€œPremature escalationโ€!!
  16. Yes need to get new deals for Melksham, Salem, Weideman and Neal-Bullen. 3 year deals for each of the blokes imo. Lewis Final year in 2019. Letโ€™s get the premiership and send him out in style As they only have 1-year deals, Maynard, Garlett, Wagner-J and Jkh all need to show improvement to stay on board. Garlett just needs to find his desire once again and heโ€™s best 22.
  17. Agreed. He showed real ability. Like to see him get more game time in 2019. Not sure how given limited spots on vfl lists. Only 12-13 blokes maximum given 45 already on our list.
  18. If you can nail a tackle, JT will get you on board
  19. Paul Amy has reported that Angus Scott is off the WAFL Club East Perth. I think retention of James Munro (should be skipper), Mitch White, Corey Machaya, Mitch Lewis, Jay Lockhart, Corey Stockdale, Goy Lok and James and Tom Freeman. Guys like Gent and Hutchins likely to head to suburban footy again. Add Tynan and 4-5 youngsters (including a young ruckman) and have a quality 13-14 in the squad.
  20. Our midfield is looking strong. Viney, Oliver, Brayshaw, Petracca, Harmes, Jones and now Sparrow. All tough competitors. Thatโ€™s the culture now in our group. With Gawny putting the pill straight to them most of the time.
  21. James is the talk of Yarrawonga today. Big story for a footy mad AFL town in northern Vic. Also Caulfield Grammar producing some quality AFL players. APS footy is a strong underage competition.
