2019 Fixture
Tougher draw in 2019. Much tougher. Better for $$$ and Friday nights. Expect minimum 4 Friday nights. Expect to play 5 of top 9 (top half) teams twice. That’s hopefully Eagles x 1 in Melbourne Collingwood x 2 round 1 & QB game Tigers x2 incl Anzac Eve Hawks x2 Cats x 1 home game Sydney x 2 Giants x1 away Kangas x 2 hope it’s Pies (away) Round 1 on the Friday night

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
I’m afraid Butters is “soft”. It’s not great but in theme (Seriously Butters is very very good. Think Trent Cotchin or Brent Oreilly ex Crows. Highly skilled. Light frame. Always composed and great decision maker. I have him 16-20 so a chance).

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
It worked with Bailey Fritsch last year. He was undisciplined, crazed and injury prone. Bargain selection at 31.

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
I think Bedford has some injury concerns and discipline issues. Very risk pick for any club to nominate except for the Dees

2019 best 22 and depth chart
Tall backs May Frost Omcd Petty Keilty (R) Mid/tall. Lever. Jsmith. Wagner. mid backs Hibberd Salem Lewis small backs. Jetta 12 mid inside Oliver Viney Brayshaw Harmes Jones Maynard (R) mid outside. Kolodjashnij Hunt. Stretch. Baker. 10 Tall fwd. Tmcd. Weideman TSmith (R) mid fwd. Melksham Petracca. Fritsch. ANB. VDHberg. Hannan sml fwds. Spargo. Garlett jkh. 12 ruck. Gawn. Preuss 2 there are many other variations with Petracca ANB able to go into midfield or Brayshaw to go outside mid as required. Salem can go into the midfield. Kolo Baker Hunt can go back as running half backs. We have 8 spots to fill. The key areas for me are 1- more midfield class. You can never have enough (see Pies and Eagles) draft options - Xavier O’Halloran or Tom Mckenzie or Xavier Duursma (at 23 or 28 or both) 2- crumbing forward. (Garlett can step up but we need more goal kickers) draft options - Toby Bedford (pick 54 or 62 likely) Zac Foot or Nick Hind (pick 91, rookie option) 3- tall forwards. Yes we need to build up in case tmcd/Weid have injury or form issues. draft options - Hudson Garoni, Haydn McLean (either at pick 91 or rookie) 4- young ruck. I see a spot for a youngster here to develop at Casey. (Bradtke is on list as Cat B) draft options - Bailey Williams (at #28 if available) , Stephen Cumming (rookie option) 5- small back. Cover for Jetta. draft options - Jay Lockhart or Marty Hore (either at pick 62,91,rookie)

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Good luck Jesse. You are welcome back anytime. I know how important family is, especially given your last 2 years.

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
Bedford is quick. No doubt. Whilst he doesn’t get the footy 25 times a match, his danger is tackling, pressure, goalkicking and assists. Definitely worth any draft pick after 50.

Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
Petracca can step up with a 40+ goal season in the stars.

2019 best 22 and depth chart
Jones and Lewis. Hard to see them in best 22 for round 1. Though I will have Jonesy in my team for the reason he gives heart and soul. Might be needed in the long season for midfield rotations.

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
Agree. We will likely use 54 or 62 on Bedford or those points. I think the earliest nominated offer for him could be Bulldogs at 45. He has the skills and pace that we need. Needs 12 months in Casey development at least.

THE 2018 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Fact. 12 off the top 40 picks are Victorian based teams. 28 picks are for the interstate teams. A lot of very nervous Victorian kids and parents at the draft. Dees two picks at 23 and 28 offers them hope.

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Sturt reminds me of a young Jack Gunston. Plays taller than his height and is a smooth mover like Fritsch. Definitely a chance at pick 23.

THE 2018 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
36 on list now. Maybe grab a delisted free agent (Mav Weller?) Picks 23,28, 54,62,91. I think we will use all 5. #23,#28 - any of Xavier O’Halloran, Ely Smith, Xavier Duursma, Tom McKenzie or Sydney Stack #54 likely on Toby Bedford # 62 on Vfl mature type likely Marty Hore, Jay Lockhart or Corey Wagner #91 is a complete punt Keilty will be a rookie upgrade. Gives us 2 rookie spots to fill on needs. Tall forward for depth in case of Weideman or Tmcd going down.
