Hogan for picks 5 & 6. Ask Suns for May and Kolodjashnij for picks 6 and 40. Effectively Hogan for May and pick 5.

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
spirit of norm smith replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes lots of changes to the list. Delisted 6 players out, 2 retired and 4 potentially further trade outs. Need to put the “now hiring” sign up. -
187 cm 84 kg tall defender wingman. This kid has been starved of opportunity at the Eagles. 42 games in 4 years. A definite chance to get him back to Victoria (although he is a Geelong boy). Good pace and skilled. Was tipped to be drafted around 25-26 in 2014 draft but slipped to 51 games. Solid build under the Eagles gym program. With a potential 3rd round pick coming our way from the Saints for Kent (around 43-44) we should make a play for Jackson Nelson now.

Josh Mahoney - Trade Radio 2/10/18
spirit of norm smith replied to Watts the matter's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great listening to Mahoney. Very open and honest discussion. Affirmed all the player potential trade news and other opportunities. I like the confirmation about Kolodjashnij medical checks Confirmation that Hunt is required and a role is there once he gets back to his best -
Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018

Update. 7 off the list. 4 trades potentially out. Kent to Saints. Vandenburg to Swans. Hogan to Freo. Tyson to anywhere. Trade Ins? Preuss. May (if Hogan goes home to Freo). Kolodjashnij. -
Shhhh. Lockhart is a late pick option around 60+. Depending on list spots available, Lockhart may be a rookie. He fits the small defender role perfectly, as a backup for Jetta. Good skills. Good strength over the footy.

Internal options for a speedy winger
spirit of norm smith replied to Lord Neville X Flash's topic in Melbourne Demons
Most likely pace in the midfield comes from Stretch Hunt Baker Obviously an external target is on the cards. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
spirit of norm smith replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes Max wants to preserve himself. It was a big year and Max was physically battered by the end. Preuss provides real relief, backup and support. -
Thompson , Farmer, Hogan. It shows how hard it is to keep interstate stars. The interstate clubs find it hard to keep Victorian kids. It happens every every year. Gibbs. Lever. Whoever it is. The media loves the go home factor. I have always backed in the draft Victorian kids for MFC. It looks like our current team will be heavy Vic based for the premiership drive.

2018 Player Reviews: # 47 Lachlan Filipovic
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Strange decision. Never really looked that good in under 18s. A speculative punt. -
Even if S$$$cully was on fire, I would not even ... on him

Yes Tyson has had chances but his turnovers outweigh his accumulation of the footy.

10 positive things from 2018
spirit of norm smith replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Salem, Weideman, Petracca ALL have big potential still to fulfill. You saw it in 2018 but I think these 3 can go up a level or two in 2019 -
The 10 positives from 2018 1/ Demons broke the 12-year finals drought. Finish 5th with 14 wins 2/ Demons win two finals. Beat the Cats and Hawks to finish 4th 3/ Brayshaw and Harmes improve to make our midfield one of the leagues best. Gus finishes 3rd in Brownlow 4/ highest scoring team in the AFL. Big scores and big wins. 5/ Two All Australians. Max Gawn has another standout year to be the premier ruckman. Clayton Oliver at 21yo shows he is now an A grade midfielder 6/ Tom McDonald has a great year as a key forward. 53 goals. 20 games 7/ Nev Jetta. Most courageous Demons player in the last 3 decades. Never gives up. 8/ Finally we beat the Kangas. The last hoodoo team. 9/ Six wins interstate. Two losses incl a loss v power when we dominated the game. 10/ the optimism and promise of a better 2019. The demon army is on the march. Our finals crowds of over 90000 showed our power.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
spirit of norm smith replied to Tony Tea's topic in Melbourne Demons
AVB has yet to show us his ability through injuries. It was hoped 2019 was going to be the year with a good preseason. His tackling and physical presence was going to be important.
