Updated for Jetta

Regularly eating fish n chips never stopped me from a high performance output. Some of my best games for Ashburton were after a big feed from the High Street chippers.

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Noah Anderson Hayden Young Matthew Rowell all standouts and could easily be pick 1. Similar to Hodge, Ball, Judd year because you can easily choose either and be confident in your choice. -
Yes. Good observation.

The Psychology of Tom McDonald
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Both Weid and Tmcd need to BLOODY SHOW SOME HEART. Their lack of heart and at the contest is painful. Both signed up for big $$ and not repaying the club. -
Agree move Misson on NOW! He has indicated he’s done so like any employee, it’s time to reset.
-
Tommy Mcd and Weideman cannot take a mark. No physical presence. No second efforts. No tackles. Poor from both of them.

Enthusiasm. Hunting the footy. Create turnovers. Edwards Rioli Baker Higgins Castagna Bolton. All small but intense players. 1- Richmond put the opposition under extreme pressure. A forward press that strangles your movement. They hunt in packs. They block space. They tackle. 2- run from defence. REBOUND GOALS. They run and run. They catch you on the rebound. Their skills and pace can tear you apart. QUICK BALL MOVEMENT 3- one percenters. They break tackles by getting their arms free. They shepherd for each other. They push, punch or force the ball forward. 4- Repeat score chances. they keep the ball inside forward 50. They kill contests. They create crumbs for small forwards. 5- Dustin Martin. His confidence and leadership drives the style of play. His attack on the footy. How to beat them? Watch the Pies in 2018 prelim. Take your chances. Move the footy. Skilled footskills. Break their tackles. Run your Guts out. Prepare for battle. Pace through the midfield. The 2019 Demons will struggle to deliver that.

Casey Demons v Australia Under 18
spirit of norm smith replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree. Stretch was Casey’s best. Most of the other AFL players were poor. Real talent in the under 18s again. -
Who will the Demons target next?
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Our targets are restrained by us getting Lever and May on big dollars. Lewis retirement likely to free up $$$$ 3 most likely Zac Jones Callum AH Chee Jackson Nelson 3 running midfielders. -
Why the insistence on Spargo being in the future team. Hardly showed any signs that he is assured a place in the team.
-
That was the Saints game plan last year. Run run run to outrun Melbourne. It lead to Bruce and Membrey looking like Riewoldt and Franklin. We must contain their runners.
-
Injuries in order of priority Lever 6-8 weeks May 2 weeks Hannan 8 weeks Vandenburg. 6 weeks Joel Smith 4 weeks Kolodashnji to be reviewed Jkh 10 weeks Nietscke season We can expect May back for Eagles game. Others (Lever, Hannan, Vandenburg Smith) must be back by mid year.

Casey Demons v Australia Under 18
spirit of norm smith replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Strange that we have not got Bedford, Chandler and Sparrow playing against youngsters like themselves. -
Time to show Oscar some respect!
spirit of norm smith replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
He has struggled for 2 years. Finally held to account and dropped. Let’s face it. He would make me very very nervous on GF day. Sam Collins was the one we missed out on twice. -
Updated. Stretch definitely in the Dunn, Martin, Trengove,Watts status. Outside the coach’s plans so will probably ask to be traded.
-
9 out this week. Vandenburg unlikely to play until round 15 at best. He may be gone.

Billy Stretch Appreciation Thread
spirit of norm smith replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
He showed his leg speed in 4-5 contests last week. Unbelievable that we want outside run and he is dropped. FFS. -
Agree again. I’m still not sure Spargo is good enough. No special qualities.
-
Agree Saints pace will AGAIN worry us. Jetta and Lewis actually slows us.
