Intensity and one-percenters!!!
Watching the Tigers-Power game today and the Lions-Roos game tonight, footy is a game on real intensity. If we have not got real grit and energy and desire to win the footy, talent alone isn’t a factor. Loved the Martin-Prestia-Boak-PowellPepper grunt today and the Robinson-Zorko-Cunnington-Ziebell grunt tonight. Tackles Head over the footy Smothers Knock ons Real hard chases and pressure It made me question who are our MFC soldiers. When the heats on, who gets it and looks for the contest. Oliver, Viney yes but who else? Jetta. Steven May showed recently his steel. Lockhart has shown me he has it. Others are harder to identify!

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL - Round 16
I had questioned the oval condition a few weeks ago. Might need some $$ spent over the summer.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL - Round 16
Agree. Start the Lefau rookie campaign. Get him into the AFL program. Definitely has size and pace and goal awareness. Not daunted by AFL listed players. But I’m just not aware how desperate and hard working he is off the track.

Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti
Agree. He gets a fair run from the whistle blowers

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
On the emergency list again for the Eagles. Must be frustrating for him as I reckon he is a player. One to definitely have a chat to.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Corey Wagner. Yes. Had a real crack and can be dangerous small forward. Josh Wagner. No. Too timid. Started well but turnovers are killing us and he does 4-5 shockers a game. This is his last chance.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL - Round 16
Cats are blessed when it comes to having a full list. Some very good VFL players not even in the squad!! James Tsitas is a very good player. Good tough as nails lockdown half back yet only gets a run off the bench.

Gains amid the wreckage
Gains - Max Gawn is a superstar - Clayton Oliver is a potential superstar (if only his disposal improves) - The discovery of Hore and Lockhart as players. - Frosty is a keeper. Sure sometimes there’s the odd shocker turnover (reducing) but he is fast, strong and big. - May will be very very good for us - Lever is back (fingers crossed) - Petracca is getting better and can do so much more - Preuss can work in tandem with big Max - Hunt is versatile and can play forward (though I still think his best position is on the wing) Importantly we couldn’t have as many injuries as we’ve had in 2019. It has killed our year.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Matthew Allen from the Eagles is one player who should be on the Dees radar. The South Australian is now 21 and been on the Eagles list without cracking a game. Won B&F for East Perth in WAFL last year. Good skills and is a goal kicker. Due to strength of Eagles, he can’t get a go. Worth a late draft pick or delisted free agent opportunity imo.

Injury List - Season 2019
Melksham has been out for 8 weeks already. It was scheduled to be only 4-5 weeks so it will probably be another few weeks at best. Likely he’ll be listed as “season “ in the next fortnight.

Injury List - Season 2019
Did we get the weekend with no additional injuries????? Please no training this week. They might trip over a witches hat knowing our luck !!!

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Suns are clearly tanking. Weller playing back pocket is as bad as Frawley on a wing.
-
Where the Fritsch?
Fritschenberger is much better forward of centre. His game on the weekend showed he can be very good as a wing/half forward. That’s his spot. Don’t move him back imo.
-
Petracca's set shot kicking
Trac is best at half forward and needs to improve his goal kicking as a priority. He is a keeper and can be a 30-40 goal a year player definitely. His burst into the midfield through a game will be just a burst. I don’t see him as a permanent mid. His aerobic fitness doesn’t fit the modern game where 15kms is covered by some of the mids.
-
Midfield strength
Answer. Hill and Langdon or similar types. We need two skilful wing types that run and deliver. Fritsch may be likely but I prefer him at half forward. None of our mids are particularly skilled or fast. Their disposal is average at best. That’s Viney Oliver Harmes Brayshaw and Jones. Our entries into the fwd50 reflect this. It’s the biggest challenge.

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Ins. Tim Smith. Corey Wagner outs. Hannan. Anb.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Sam Day. He is definitely worth a 3-4 year contract offer. Showed again last night that he is wasted by the Suns.

Petracca's set shot kicking
Same comment. Different week. Tracs miss was deflating.

My 3 word player analysis V Bulldogs
MFC - lost winnable game MFC - not very smart I think today give us so many chances and I think the players will think it was “an honourable loss”. I agree Joeboy was harsh on Lockhart. He’s having a crack.
-
Footscray v Casey Demons - Round 15
From today’s game, only Corey Wagner should be elevated. He should replace either Anb or Hannan. I’d keep Dunkley in to see how he goes. Jkh is not really quite up to AFL in terms of delivery and intensity.

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Not with pick 3-4. NEED quality midfielder with a low pick. There is at least 8-10 before Flanders.
