Yeah, I remember the the hanging of Ryan in 1967 very well. My uncle was the policeman that put the shotgun to Ryan's head through the car window in January 1966. He said that Ryan was a likeable guy and that Walker was a real gangster type. My uncle left the force soon after, and was never comfortable with the hanging of Ryan.

I don't think so. The Melbourne Speedway (Motordome) became Melbourne Olympic Park in preparation for the 1956 Olympics. The Harness Racing was at the showgrounds and the greyhounds were in a different area of Olympic region. That was changed to Broadmeadows, as the Melbourne Greyhound track fell by the construction of city link.

Strange choice, given that he just had a knee reco. He will not have a realistic chance of establishing himself in 2013. Perhaps they are looking at a 2 year contract.
