unfortunately Bail did not look interested, the chase on Dalgleish looked half hearted, a little later he just stood there while an essendon player just played on and ran around him. pitiful effort from him to not even try.

Melbourne v Essendon @ Etihad Stadium - 20th March, 2015
Deecisive replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
tonight shattered the confidence of a team that already has a serious confidence issue. How many games do we have to see the kicking across goal cost us, either because its intercepted or because we miss the mark and loose control. While viney did make a blue he was probably honouring the request of a team mate calling for it, cross waited for the ball to come to him instead of attacking it. a lot of work still to be done with this lot and possibly next years lot as there should be another clean out at the end of this year again. -

Viney made a mistake, hell so many of them made mistakes it is impossible to blame viney alone. Tackling was poor, disposal was woeful, no team work, handball to players in worse positions. I think the team has been believing their own press get a couple of good players and we will win games, unfortunately they have just been hit by the reality bus in a major way. Any delusions of adequacy should have been well and truly crushed. Too many players at fault, no point blaming poor umpiring decisions a team of hasbeens and neverbeens and neverwillbe;s beat us tonight. -

Give toumpas a bit of space he is probably nervous as hell, his class and skill will shine through especially when you look at how poor some of these are playing. Some of the older players really need to stand up and put in. too many with poor skills. -

pretty ordinary stuff, slow, poor decision making, poor disposal, lack of defence hopefully Roos can get these guys interested in playing the second half -
Mitch Clark's 6 goals - how ... 'depressing'.
Deecisive replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
its a practice game, even Sam got kicks. lets see how the season goes and if Mitch's body holds up once he starts to play, history has shown he has recurring foot problems, if he starts to play well he may find opponents on those feet of his more often. As for the AFL making him leave I find it difficult to understand under what circumstances you would force one of a bottom sides best players to leave and then allow them to join a top 4 side. a funny sort of punishment that would be. -
Hopefully this will come to a final resolution, but I think we all know the suspension that essendon gets will be greatly watered down to keep the ALF on side. this crap of suspending a team for 6 months back dated is rubbish, how do you suspend players for games they have already played and the off season is beyond my limited brain to comprehend where is the punishment. years of farce and foolishness. if the players are guilty then how can the coach team doctor etc still able to keep their jobs.

Watching the game I was pretty disappointed with a lot of the poor disposal, poor tackling, dropped marks and a miss from 5 meters out. Now reflecting on it, it was a practice game, far better than an interclub match for giving players a real work out. The nab cup means nothing to me other than a chance to see the Dees play. I thought quite a few players played really poorly, yet I did not see anyone really get taken to the cleaners all night. Our delivery into the forward line was not terribly good, kicking long, high, over the head of, behind, etc... this should improve as players start to get a bit more match practice and it will improve because those that don't will be replaced by those who do it better. We have a bit more depth this year, so hopefully we will see players trying much harder to improve to make it into the team, instead of us having to play players because they are the best of a bad/out of form bunch. Umpiring was ordinary- Garland gave away several frees for holding yet the same rules were not applied to our forwards. Holding the ball was all over the shop at times some players holding if far longer and getting away with it, others getting pinged quickly. Though I must sat Mat Jones did stand out in the free department. Even the goal umpires were pretty ordinary, not being able to tell when a ball hits the post. Roos needs to use the rest of the nab cup to test players in match conditions, play them in different positions and see how they go. We still have a few good players to come in who will displace some of those that did not measure up. and those that do not measure up need to think about how are they going to stay on the list if they don't improve. I like Gawny I think he will come into his own standing tall in the goal square, that will take some big opposition player out of the game, he does not need to always mark it as long as he can contribute to a contest to bring it to the ground so our small forwards have a chance at getting some crumbs.

So why is it that Asada is not looking into the coaching side of this whole story, and recommending penalties there, after all the coaches are the ones that set this up either through stupidity, neglect or outright dishonesty.
-
The AFL will find Essendon Guilty and taking this in the serious light that it is will disqualify the players for playing for 5 years. penalty for good behaviour and significant contribution to the legal fraternity the penalty will be backdated two years before the oldest players birth.

If Essendon has done nothing wrong why are they not crying out or demanding Danks, Charters and the co testify on their behalf at the hearing........ Likewise if Danks and Charters have done nothing wrong now is the time for them to stand up and prove it.

Training - Friday 5th December, 2014
Deecisive replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
It will be interesting to see how our 4 rookies go, we have a spot open for probably most of the season for 1 of them to start with. I would expect them all to be trying real hard to grab that spot. -
if brock did not say what he did on the couch then we would not have Roos and co and the recent successful drafts we have had. Who knows where we would have been as the club may have still been trying to ride that culture to get more cheap picks. All in all its history, do what is best for the club.

Actually the odds are not that great check out the birthday paradox, it goes something like a class of 25-30 kids at school will usually result in at least two kids having the same birthday. Given most of the draft participants fall into roughly the same age group there should have been quite a few who shared the same birth date. -
high protein and fat, very low carb especially processed carbs i.e. containing flour etc...

not bad, I liked the fact that even when possibly in range he looked for the pass over the top to an open man.. nice team play.

now is the time of optimism, pessimism is waiting in the wings for the team to have 2 or 3 floggings by 100 points which i personally think aint going to happen next year. Some teams will improve next year but some will also go backwards, I see us going onwards and upwards. We have the makings of a midfield that will win the ball far more than they did in the last couple of years. That will give our outside runners who have been starved of opportunities a chance. We have a lot more hard bodies that are more than happy to tackle the opposition and put pressure on them. We (touch wood) have a forward in Hogan though we also have some raw options in Oscar, Frost and Gawn that could potentially all go to full forward should it be required. we have a decent crumbing forward and an even better back line that this year. we have eager players who now must compete for a place in the side or else they will play VFL for the season and then potentially be traded out at the end of the year. So I would be expecting a better effort out of a lot of our players this year if they can get in another solid pre-season. And we have a pretty experienced and solid coaching staff to back up Roos. All in all we have a pretty balanced side. Quite frankly if you compare where we are with personal and attitude now with the last dark days of the Neeld reign we have made huge improvements in so many fronts. Go dees for 2015 and beyond.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - OSCAR MCDONALD
Deecisive replied to Dee-licious's topic in Melbourne Demons
his highlights are good, especially when he goes forward, only issue I saw was that he seemed a bit lackadaisical running/strolling out of defense which may work at lower levels but will not work at AFL. He needs to work on that. looks a very good pickup -
Excellent draft, that extra pick for the frost trade did come in handy
-
time for a short nap while I wait for pick 40

Thank you Mr Frawley

I dont know if the draft will be broadcast via one of the stations off this link, I have used it before to get live access to Australian Soccer games broadcast on foxtel. http://cricfree.tv/fox-sports-2-usa-live-stream.php
