Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off

remember we will be passing on the compensation for Trenners to Collingwood so getting pick 10 means collingwood gets pick 10 they benefit more by the better deal not us. -

Roos and Co were bought in to make the tough call so that the team can improve, they would not be making this move unless they believed there was considerable upside for the team in some way or another. While the love for trenners is admirable it was only 6 months ago that half of this board was calling for him to be dropped. While I like the guy, I want to see improvements so I am sure I am probably going to like who ever they procure to replace him also, more so if he can really play football. -

Dees should sort out their deal with Geelong for mc with a good draft pick and perhaps a swap of some of our later picks, leave collingwood out of it for now, when they want to trade for HL they can call us. The draft picks give us a bit more leverage to go after other players or pick up something reasonable in the draft should Collingwood continue to F@@t us around. They after all want to get rid of HL probably more that we want him, so let them chase us on this instead, if we miss on him we can pick up another decent player and Collingwood can continue to pay HL's contract. -

hmmm this could really blow into a $IItstorm if any player and their partner who was involved in their supplements program had anything less than a perfect child -

one wonders why the beams trade is holding up the HL swap, after all collingwood does not want HL and they want Varco regardless of whether beams is there or not. So what is the problem with those damn birds cannt they multi-task. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JEFF GARLETT
Deecisive replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
Al not sure there is a lot of downside to this, we have not given up a lot, Jeff has already proven he can kick goals given opportunities. He would also be well aware that if he fails at Melbourne then his career in football is probably over. I am extremely hopefully he can build a strong relationship not only with Jetta but also with JHK in a positive mentoring role that may give him a lot more focus not only on what he does but improve his bonding with the players and the club. With luck who knows we could potentially get a cockatoo in the mix as well. -
I am more than happy with the drafting so far, with still a week to go there is a chance we may still trade out pick 3, but Mahoney is also telling everyone we are happy to take these two picks to the draft so better give us a good deal or no deal. like it a lot, GWS trading is certainly making it harder for St Kilda to trade away pick 1 and still get the forward they desperately need

I doubt the GWS is not done yet, they will have quite a few picks in the draft but will probably only use a couple as they will not be getting rid of too many from their list, so they will be keen on swapping some of their mid picks for early picks so that they can continue to bank the best young talent. -
GWS are after Petracca and looking to pick up Griffin will mean some of their other midfielders will certainly be thinking about what sort of game time they will be getting over the next couple of years, will definitely present an even greater opportunity to get into a couple of these guys ears about moving south.

more likely north has pulled their wallet out of the @@@@ and are trying to show their appreciation by now offering him a better contract than Higgins.

Just hope that St Kilda does not dig out a player that they can off load to GWS and pick up another compensation pick ala Essendon and Port's proposed deal as that would give them pick 1 and 2. -
Love the collingwood attitude, they demand to pay peanuts for what they want and want double value for everything they get rid of, even their garbage. they are looking to use our pick for HL to pick up greenwood, If that is the case though I like the idea of HL running off the backline for us I would rather spend that pick on greenwood instead.

I am surprised that there is no talk or rumors around cameron going at the moment. This was a guy who wanted to leave GWS and a lot of clubs would have loved....why no discussion -
We loose one of our best (on his day) players and get compensated with pick 3. Sydney looses no-one and gets a top 4 draft pick for nothing. Why is this not being challenged

In saying they want hird they are also saying no to thompson the likely successor (again) to Hird, interesting to see how this finally ends... -

We should make it known that whoever is interested in picks 2 or 3 needs to provide us with a really good deal by Wed or else we will use 2 and 3 for the best two players we can get, i.e. two top mids, or a top mid and a gun forward. That should worry GWS and St Kilda as one of these will likely miss out unless they deal with us in a positive way. -
I wish sam all the best in getting a new club, While I agree Sam often had little or poor delivery to him in the forward line, he did not seem to battle through that to get the ball. i always was concerned about his lack of defensive pressure, not sure of his stats but he was really very low on the tackle count you would expect someone with a bit of pace to be able to catch a few of the opposition players.

most clubs are paying overs for good or great players, including melbourne, how much is frawley being offered, if you are a wanted player by multiple clubs then you pay overs.

agreed we should take brayshaw as soon as we can, missing him would be a real [censored]. trading our 3rd pick to doggies or GC with a promise to take Brayshaw at 2 would mean no real loose in their pick for a tall. -
well he will certainly be remembered by melbourne supporters as a melbourne player.

what a fantastic player, more bounces in that 3 minutes than the whole of the melbourne team for the last 2 years. was a true inspiration and champion. sadly missed.
