  1. Howey does not look interested, does not have a desire for the ball, the money his on already is way overs for his contribution to the team. He is going to find it hard to find a new club if he does not start putting in. Maybe he is trying not to get too hurt playing the better clubs and save himself to play the weaker clubs when Dawes and Hogan will have the main men and he can run around and pick up a few more easy possessions and boost his stats.
  2. Matt Jones was woeful again, I don't know why he keeps getting picked, he lacks defensive pressure and does not win his own ball very often. I don't understand how we can bomb it down into our forward 50 so often and only have an opposition player take the mark. Where is the pressure from our forwards. bail was only there to make up the numbers, better to give a younger kid a chance. Howe, a spectator with no defensive side to his game when he in the forward line. Tyson is wasteful with the ball and looks to be a lazy in that he appears to seldom chase his man. the umps were not the best, but we well and truly lost this with our poor disposals, brain fades, inability to tackle correctly and inability to cover opposition players who seemed to run around without a Melbourne player near them. Spencer and Gawn both did reasonably well, whoever we put up against Nat would have been done over, so no shame there. These guys are our future they need to get senior game time. They will improve. I see no reason to blame roos for this as its the players out there we had chances, the fact that the eagles kicked so badly kept us in the game until the last quarter when our players just rolled over and played dead...
  3. we are not doing too badly considering they are a top 4 side and we at the moment are a bottom 4 side. at least half a dozen turn overs from us has given them shots at goal, thankfully they cant kick straight. I wish some of these players when they mark it would move the damn ball on quickly instead of turning their back on the players down field who are leading towards them. Matt Jones and Bail of of the many who do this time after time.
  4. I wish the dees would man up, both figuratively and literally. Woeful performance, no chase, no fight, I hope roos can get some sort of spark out of them.
  5. We won on Sunday because we had two ruckmen who gave the ball to our players, this is too big an advantage to hand over to running a second string shorter ruckman. Spencer and Gawn have to stay if they cannot rest them on the ground up forward then rest them on the bench. Dawes was involved in half a dozen or more scoring opportunities, he did not do a huge amount but he influenced us keeping the ball down in our forward line and scoring. He has to stay. Hogan has to come in, that's a given... That leaves Riley, Matt Jones, Bail and Toumpas as the most likely candidates to go. If they need another tall down back then they may go with Fitzpatrick instead of Garland.
  6. Would love to see jack get back his best or do better, hopefully the problems he has been having for the last couple of years are the captaincy and injuries. With both behind him next year he can settle down and enjoy his footy.
  7. B: Lynden Dunn, Tom McDonald, Neville Jetta HB: Daniel Cross, Jack Fitzpatrick, Heritier Lumumba C: Jack Watts, Dom Tyson, Jack Viney HF: Jesse Hogan, Chris Dawes, Jeremy Howe F: Jeff Garlett, Jack Spencer, Angus Brayshaw FOLL: Max Gawn, Nathan Jones, Bernie Vince I/C: Jimmy Tompas, Jay Kennedy-Harris, Alex Neal-Bullen, Matt Jones Take it down any side of the ground towards our half forward or wing and we have a player able to mark. Hogan is pretty good on the ground with decent speed and Dawes does do a lot of the crash and bash through the packs. Spencer and Gawn rotate through FF.
  8. how is his size going, has he bulked up while recovering from his foot injury?
  9. I like the idea of Hogan getting a run on the half forward flank or on the ball a bit more he has the crash and bash capability to play further up the field. Would certainly give us a lot of marking options.
  10. Well today we can see where this club is heading and the future does look promising...
  11. I would hope all of the players have learnt from this game to crowd the backline next time. Hopefully next time the win from crowding the backline will come when we beat Collingwood by 1 point.
  12. 29 less tackles we were not hard enough at the contests, the hard stuff was left to too few.
  13. Lets face facts this year is a dead loss in climbing the ladder, its about improving and working towards a better 2016. Not saying we should be tanking, but we need to be doing what is best to get this team working correctly and cohesively for the future, if that means dropping players who are not following instructions, playing to their potential etc then so be it. Play players who want to play and who we need to get more games into so that they are much more able to stand the rigors of AFL football next year.
  14. Extremely disappointed in Howes effort today, I don't think he does enough around the ground, he does not seem to have a lot of second efforts. I had hoped his stint down back had improved his appetite to chase the ball, but it does not appear to have.
  15. Oh please Roos should not have to tell them the bleeding obvious. Same as don't bomb it long to the forward line, yet the continue to do so. Dumb footballers who have seldom been in the position of being ahead. We had the same problem last year where we should have killed the clock in the last few seconds of the game but gave it up and lost that too. They have been told, they just don't pay attention.
  16. To be honest I thought st Kilda played better football all day, we were crap for most of the day but put in a few brief good passages that usually ended up on with Hogan. We handpassed and handpassed back and forth between ourselves and constantly got caught. We had players try to take on the opposition players and constantly lost, Mcdonald really runs around like a headless chook at times same with HL gotta run no matter what. Far too many players are far to slow at moving the ball on, or just kicking it long to nothing.... sickening to watch. We played a woeful brand of football most of the day. Though those few moments when we played well it looked fantastic. But sadly far too many stupid mistakes, hopefully one day these guys will get sick enough loosing to actually put in that extra effort.
  17. gutted. Stupid play, how could these guys not know they had to close down the st Kilda forward line after the Howe goal. How dumb are they..... Against Collingwood last week Collingwood kicked it around and around the back line in the last 5 or 10 minutes because these guys could not man up. far too many players not capable of putting 4 quarters together. Too many dumb, dumb dumb mistakes.
  18. watts attempted mark was unfortunate, if he dived and did not take it cleanly then the Collingwood player would have run away with it. diving usually works best when you are diving forward that way you can block the ball going past you. fitzy's throw was not a lot different from what you see players do around the ground when they 'paddle' it to the boundary, if he had had his fist closed he would have been fine. Lots of errors, but also lots of improvement, the team looks to be playing a better grade of footy and still has a lot of upside. This year is about making progress, yesterdays game was good progress.
  19. I thought fitzy did his job on his man who got bugger all of the ball. he made one silly mistake, where a few others made several. I would keep him to get him working harder at AFL level. The saints have a few talls so unless frost is ready to come back he should stay. Matt jones out, Vanders unfortunately looks injured and maybe give pigdog a rest with Casey. In comes Grimes, Tyson and maybe give ANB a run.
  20. I agree our forwards did seem to get shoved out of the contests quite a lot and a couple of occasions Collingwood players took uncontested marks because no one bothered to go with them. it would also help if players kicking into the forward line kicked to our players advantage a little more. brayshaw was one of the few constantly doing that.
  21. a bit harsh, he was running and stretching for the ball and could only get one hand on it.
  22. A much better effort from the team, they contested and made it a good contest until the last quarter. Good over all performance sprinkled with dumb mistakes. I have to disagree with the Roos bashing, he kept a man back on collingwoods forward line because cloke was so dangerous and to give us a lot of interceptions and provide assistance to our back men. The turnovers are what did us in, some were from the backline some we from their goal square. Happy with the effort and just shows that we can mix with the better teams, not that I think Collingwood is a top 4 team. but they are better than us at the moment. I think an area that we really need to work on is moving the ball quickly too many times our players mark it and hold it not prepared to kick forward quickly or take the first option while it is available. when we moved it quickly we took them by surprise and spare man or not.
  23. No-one would run an injection regime without keeping pretty meticulous records, so they can monitor success and tweak the process by changing frequency and dosages to see the effect. So I have no doubt records existed and are still likely to exist. If the data was on the disk Deloittes took then some sign of the data or evidence of it being deleted is likely to have been found by Deloittes. Forensic tools are pretty damn good these days and people seldom delete or cover all of their tracks well. It is likely that the majority of their data was on other devices. Logically I would have thought it would have been on a portable device such as a laptop or ipad, etc... so that it would be easy to carry around and work on, if so they would have stored and shared this data via the cloud and email, most likely using Danks and Co's private accounts. So physical disks found within the club would most likely have little data on them.
  24. one has to wonder if he was pushed into leaving, that way they can probably promote a rookie or something to fill the void and probably save some money on his salary at the same time.
  25. The john burns thing was a private conversation, if we are going to set to bar so low then what the heck is the afl going to do about all those people who abuse the umpires with racial and sexual slurs and innuendos?
