WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON
Ted Lasso replied to angrydee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I didn't really think that much of Aish or Kelly anyway, both pretty skinny and would take 2-3 years to really start to impact games, Tyson is ready to go and Crouch, Lennon, Kolo, Sheed, Freeman are all ready to go type players. -
In order of preference 1. Dom Sheed 2. Nathan Freeman 3. kolo - whatever 4. Matt Crouch 5. Lennon
-
1.Fremantle 2.Sydney 3.Geelong 4.Hawthorn 5.Collingwood 6.North Melbourne 7.Richmond 8.Port Adelaide 9. Essendon 10.Carlton 11.Gold Coast 12.West Coast 13.Adelaide 14.Melbourne 15.Western Bulldogs 16.Brisbane 17.Greater Western Sydney 18.Stkilda

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON
Ted Lasso replied to angrydee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Barrett is an absolute [censored], he just hates MFC and makes absolutely no secret of that. we effectively traded out picks 2, 20, sylvia 54 and 72 and got tyson, Cross, Michie, Vince, pick 9 and pick 53, exactly what the doctor ordered and a very good trade period, Dom Tyson alone imo is a top 3 pick, super talented and this will be his first full pre season -
I love the idea of getting Kennedy, he would be a huge get but i think he would also cost a huge amount, we land him we are suddenly looking at top 8 next year.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS
Ted Lasso replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Damien Barrett is a bias [censored], forgets that North Melbourne just picked up a player of exactly the same age and somehow thinks that's going to take them from the most inconsistant bottom 8 side in the comp to top 4, really knows his stuff. Dom Tyson in my opinion is ahead of any other midfielder in this draft by some distance anyway, guy is an absolute jet so getting him and pick 9 imo will prove to be a huge steal. Michie cost us a 4th round pick and has the potential to be an extremely good player, not spoken to one dockers fan that wasn't sad to see him go, some even said they'd rather keep viv and send Sylvia back, shows how highly rated he is. Vince as a straight swap for sylvia is a handy upgrade, will walk straight into the 22, make an impact, help the young talent develop and bring some experience to the place and if you wanted to find 2 blokes to teach a group of young blokes how to train and carry yourself as AFL footballers it's Daniel Cross and Nathan Jones. extremely good trading imo. -
I reckon they only really want sheed because he is Western Australian, this homesickness stuff is going to become more and more of an issue imo now it's becoming so much more common and easier to be multi club players and leaving to go home is now a perfectly acceptable reason to up and leave. if it means we get Crouch i am fine with it.
-
Paul Roos rates him as having absolutely A grade elite potential, and i have heard many other people say he has been played out of position, all he needed was confidence, to get over his injuries, and to get back into the centre bounce situations where he belongs, not on a wing or high half forward!
-
Luke Tapscott and James Strauss i can see being totally different players after a full pre season under Roos and Stone!
-
Anthony Miles?
-
I think a professional organisation should back itself to keep it's best player despite free agency, and i am extremely confident Chip would be loving what he has seen under Roos and a few wins next year will be enough to keep him on. having said that i think he deserves a very good contract this time around, has battled very hard in a very difficult period for the club and needs his next contract to reflect how important he is to the team.
-
Eh doubt any of them will pick Crouch top 8 and i would not be at all upset if we landed him at pick 9
-
B: Colin Garland Tom Mcdonald Luke Tapscott HB: jack Grimes James Frawley Jimmy Toumpas C: Jack Watts Dom Tyson Viv Michie HF: Jesse Hogan Chris Dawes Nathan Freeman F: Jeremy Howe Mitch Clark Dean Kent FOL: Mark Jamar Bernie Vince Nathan Jones I/C: Jack Viney Jack Trengove Daniel Cross SUB: Sam Blease Assuming we draft Nathan Freeman at #9 Much better looking team, particularly like the half back line and the half forward line, Think Viv Michie is going to prove to be a huge steal for us, as will Dom Tyson and Pick 9 for pick 2, watched alot of Tyson and personally rate him as a top 3 pick alone if he is able to stay fit.
-
Blease and Tapscott both have talent, i don't think one year under a decent coach would be stupid, and realistically we are going to get stuff all for them so we might as well give them one more year each.
-
Sheed, Freeman or Crouch, all fit the bill very well. and i rate all three ahead of Kelly and Aish.
-
Very interesting times ahead, if all of this talk is true and we face a choice of what to use pick 2 on who do we take? Rockliff, Shuey or Shiel? all three are contracted as far as I am aware so any deal would have to involve pick 2 and it's very unlikely we will have the bait to be able to secure more than one. Personally i'd choose Rockliff, still young, leadership oozes from him, hard at it, fits Roos style of player, but that's just my opinion.
-
The fact we aren't into a lot of the bigger names that are floating around makes me think we have our eye on a few other players, perhaps Rockliff is one, I really hope he is, i'd offer pick 2 and Fitzpatrick for Rockliff and pick 7 if a trade was possible, i'd also offer him 4 years at a big pay and the captaincy for 2014
-
It will be very interesting to see what happens with Tappy next year great test of bad selection vs terrible development. I think Tappy has the tools to be a decent player, has never had a settled role for long enough to really grow into it and been very poorly coached up until this point, his build and physicality really adds a point of difference to our side that I like. Hopefully Roos can settle him into a position, imo it's the glenn Archer/ cambell brown style back pocket, let him train there all pre season and see how he goes, would wanna make serious strides in 2014 or I doubt he will get another contract.
-
Remember the GWS factor when you get excited about these young mids wanting trades, these boys listen to Sheeds and the scum dog millionaire badmouth the MFC on a daily basis, it's extremely unlikely they will have any interest in coming near us unless we either A pay crazy overs or B start winning games of football.
-
Would be good in the sense that he was at ground zero for port's rise, and is credited with a lot of that, very experienced, been around quite abit.
-
I really like pickles, really think he could be a very good player for us, injuries are the big concern.

Sydney Swans offer Franklin $7 million
Ted Lasso replied to Gippsland Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Franklin would be huge for them in a marketing sense, but imo Cameron would still be their best forward. -
Apparently Tudor ruled himself out a while ago, but I reckon it'll be Simpson, can't see why else we would wait this long.

Who would stand up on Grand Final day
Ted Lasso replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd be thinking Jack Grimes and Jack Viney, but it's abit insane to be thinking that far ahead, there is a decent chance a lot of those players will never play in a Grand final. -
I think it's a GWS thing, you could imagine Sheedy and Scully would be badmouthing MFC every single day up there. but I mean an offer of 450 k a year at his age to go back to his home state, play on the MCG every other week and play under Paul Roos and be part of rebuilding the great MFC is a pretty decent opportunity I would have thought.
