If you wanted to be hated by your own club, that's a good way to go about it! i'd like to take credit for all success the MFC has in the future as i called for Mark Neeld's head!

NAB Challenge 1 - Richmond v Melbourne
Ted Lasso replied to Bedraggled Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's amazing how something as simple as players having some confidence and a clear role and gameplan that works makes us a totally different plan, and a coach who noone could question isn't bad either! -
The thing i think Howe adds is that he is an absolute nightmare to find a match up for, if he isn't All Australian he might be the hardest player in the comp to match up, obviously some stiff comp for that title
-
If trenners plays every game like he did on friday night he will quickly become one of if not our most valuable player, won't be flashy or pretty to watch but like chunk jones will get the job done week in week out which is all anyone could ask of him
-
I actually tipped Howe, Frawley and Nathan Jones to be AA this year, somewhat Bias but i think all three are more than capable, and if that happens we might give 8th a little shake
-
We need a Ruckman, for me it's Mitch Clark who needs to get his foot right and play that role, we need an out and out superstar mid to go with our work horses, if that comes from within ( Viney, Toumpas or someone like that ) or outside, a Fyfe type through free agency, we need James Frawley to stay onboard. we need Roosy and PJ to stay on board for at least another 2 years Hogan to live up to the hype, Howe, Grimes, Frawley, Clark, Garland, N.jones to find AA form
-
Sylvia's one touch compared to Bernie's 32 I think we did alright
-
Considering How we went last year Maybe the better question is who will reach AFL standard
-
Before friday night i felt as though if trenners didn't improve he was looking at time in the VFL most of our mids were ahead of him, now he has sured up that spot for now in my mind
-
Will be interesting to see who the big improvers are under Paul Roos this year my predictions are Jack Grimes Jack Trengove Jeremy howe to be All Australian and Lynden Dunn

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BERNIE VINCE

Could very well win the Bluey this year, just love the ball in this blokes hands, if that happens 30 plus times a game with our forward line we will get the opportunity to kick a winning score -
Unfounded prediction? if we aren't backing these blokes to be guns then we wouldn't have considered them all top 5 selections in the first place, you don't draft a bloke at pick 4 hoping he'll be solid, you're looking for a star.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEXIS GEORGIOU

He really protects the ball drop well this bloke, his smarts help him make up for perhaps a slight lack of height for a key defender, certainly think he has the capacity to be a solid AFL level defender -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAY KENNEDY-HARRIS

Reckon there is abit of Matty Stokes about this kid? maybe Christiansan? -
Terlich was third in the best and fairest of a side that would have lost to strong VFL sides, Chip consistantly beats guys like jack rewoldt and travis cloke, they are very different players and Terlich is far more easily replaced, not saying he is at all a bad player but Chip is a quality key position player and a full back at that, Full back at the MFC in recent years would be the second worst job going, second only to head coach.
-
Toumpas is very classy, three more years under Roos and Stone and i don't think it's unrealistic he will be an absolute gun, same with Viney who is miles ahead of him and has the attributes to keep improving, and we all know how promising Hogan is, i don't see how it's that unrealistic?
-
I wouldn't rule it out with Roos mate, seems like the sorta bloke who wouldn't wanna jump out of a battle half way through, think we will all find that Roos and PJ are around for longer than expected, and this will help as i am sure that the current quality of our coach and CEO would be huge factors that would build towards Frawley signing another deal with us,
-
I would bet my bottom dollar Toumpas in 3 years time is in the best 15 players in the comp, as will Viney and Hogan, my question is how much better can Wines get, he's already very good but not elite

How will the gameplan evolve with a forward line?
Ted Lasso replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree mate, if you're getting paid 800,000 you do what you're told -
We should offer Chip a two year extension and a good pay rise, if we haven't improved by the time Roos leaves then he and alot of others will be jumping ship, i think the biggest doubt would be longer term deals so maybe a more short term deal would appeal more to him
-
Can't see Pedo being much more than a gun VFL player/depth player.

How will the gameplan evolve with a forward line?
Ted Lasso replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am a little concerned the 3 talls and Howe might be too crowded. will be interesting to see how it's managed, -
If not he could step into a neil craig role and be directly involved with the list he is building, give the players a little more confidence that his successor has him overseeing for a couple of extra years. i strongly believe Roos will take the third year now anyway and Jade Rawlings will end up taking over.

NAB Challenge 2 - Melbourne v Geelong
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jordie is probably our best tackler imo, maybe Trengove gives him a shake, but he makes tackles stick which is important, certainly ahead of Strauss imo -
I believe him personally, i think he is in a similar place to Watts mentally, wants to see improvement, know who his coach will be and make us feel abit desperate and add a few extra o's to his contract, until i watched that i thought he was gone, now not so certain.
