What i'd be interested to see is if they say no, surely they'd have to give a reason, what reason do they have? you were found not guilty of tanking a previous administration stuffed up some picks before the other clubs don't like the idea it's obviously in the best interests of the entire comp that we get back up to scratch as quickly as possible and an extra top 10 draft pick in my opinion is the best way to do it i'd be happy with pick 5 or pick 9 or whatever even with the condition we have to trade it

How does it work, do Roosy and PJ put in their case to the commission in person?
-
My concern with these sorts of guys is, is he the sorta player who looks better than he is because he's in a good team?
-
I couldn't imagine the coach would be a consideration, you just need to look at our record how many 90 plus point losses did we have this year and last year is over 10 percentage this year of 52 declining crowd numbers 1 win in 7 years against a top 8 team 34 wins total in 7 years widely thought of as the worst list in the AFL we have a very very strong case, they have to be able to argue essentially that us being found not guilty of tanking overrules those points.
-
You'd have to think the club would be planning what they'd do with picks 1, 2 or 3 given it's hard to know what we will end up with, if we got pick 1 i reckon i'd be asking the saints for Jack steven and pick 4.

Biggest stuff ups of the year, Brisbane sacking Voss to chase Roos and losing half their players and still not having a coach? Dustin Martin wanting to explore outside offers, asking for way too much and getting rejected publicly by the two worst clubs in the AFL?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS
Ted Lasso replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Forget his age, more important questions 1. is his body capable of holding up to AFL level? 2. will he offer leadership on and off the field? 3. will he play in and improve our best 22 consistantly 4. is he the right sort of personality to guide our young talent? in my opinion all of these are obviously yes so the two year deal people are saying he signed with us would be an awesome result for the club. -
Freo prove elite talent isn't everything, the right structure and game plan is 3/4 of the battle.
-
Mathews would be getting paid more being a front line assistant rather than development coach, so that's just offering him a better opportunity and Allison and Roos are old mates, haha not sure who we are trying to poach for way overs? maybe Adam Simpson and Scott Burns? maybe he should write something about Brisbane and West coast too haha
-
Reading what the scum wrote about us in this weeks sliding doors makes my blood boil, we have poached brett Allison and Ben Mathews, both have connections to Roos, not sure how we are robbing other clubs of their assistants.
-
it would see Scott Watters and Mark Neeld have alot in common, can't see Watters hanging around there long, it's going to be a slog
-
Pick 2- trade for Adams and pick 10 pick 10- Matt crouch pick 20 - Zac Jones pick 38 - Trade for Anthony Miles a much harder midfield.
-
Other clubs are annoyed or Barrett is annoyed? keep watching Stkilda, wouldn't be surprised if in 3-4 years they're in a similar position, will be interesting to see if the AFL helps them.

I had dinner with some family friends last night, who are long term North Melbourne members, and even they hate him, thought that was hilarious!
-
Matt Crouch, pick #10ish - i feel he would make an impact round 1 2014 and continue to improve

I don't get how he wins awards, he is plainly wrong as often as he is right! he is just using his standing to push a case to remove an idea that doesn't suit his personal wishes, i am looking forward to monday as i believe we will be granted the Priority pick we NEED maybe not deserve and [censored] off Barrett and his army of knobs bigtime

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON
Ted Lasso replied to angrydee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I played footy with Anthony as a Junior mate and he is absolutely worth picking up, good size, hits the ball as hard as anyone i have seen and is deceivingly quick, would be straight into our best 22 in my opinion and would only cost a third round pick potentially, he is far too good to be rotting in the reserves anywhere -
He's captain of the Northern Blues, i think he's alright but personally i have watched him play a few times and he reminds me a little bit of a few boys on our list, he would dominate at VFL level but struggle at AFL level, would be surprised if we draft him, if GWS gave us Adams and pick 10 i'd be pretty happy.

I would love to see Jesse Hogan play bursts in the middle, huge and aggressive, he can run as well as any big man i've seen in a long time, could be abit like how jonothan brown and Pav play bursts in the middle with good effect.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

I still have Essendon supporting friends who deny their team are drug cheats, guess this will ruin their day hahaha -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Ted Lasso replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
For those with more knowledge than i, what sort of punishment comes with an infraction notice and would this apply to every player who took the substance so everyone but Goddard and Zaharakis in theory? -
At this stage i'd play Dawes, his leadership is going to make it very VERY hard for fitz, but if he keeps improving, the fact that he can play ruck also and he is more mobile, put's him in with a chance, of our three big men, i'd say Dawes is the least safe, which is amazing considering Clark has hardly played in 2 years and Hogan hasn't played a game of AFL yet besides NAB cup.

Who would you prefer? Martin, Swallow, Adams, Aish or someone else?
Ted Lasso replied to PJ_12345's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mate i can promise you they would be making phone calls left right and center, Roosy will know who he wants and who is realistic. especially if we get a Priority pick, we will make alot of friends if that's the case. -
all we can do is keep making plays at these players, i'm sure every club in the AFL gets turned down by more players than they get.

I'd be surprised if he is up for trade to be honest, it's abit like Ryan Griffen at the dogs, these coaches know they need experience there during the rebuild. if he is, and they don't want too much i'd look at him.
