We need to consider what's best for Mitch, that may be being in perth with his family, especially if as being suggested Mental illness is involved, we need to be open to the idea of facilitating a move for the well being of Mitch as a person before we consider an ideal world where Mitch is our all conquering forward that's my opinion anyway, Mitch needs to be put first, as Roosy says the club exists for it's players.

Practice Match - Casey Scorpions v Williamstown
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon Gawn gets a spot in the forward line and relief ruck, having Fitzy and Pedo as well who can do that and sharing it around helps cover any concerns about Gawn being underdone imo and Gawn, Fitzy, Pedo, Howe, Kennedy-Harris and co are going to seriously test the saints defence, especially if we beat them out of the middle as expected. -
I reckon we'd have to foot a portion of the bill, but if we keep him on and he spends the entire year in Perth on leave we're doing that anyway, but the most important thing for Mitch is his health an happiness and i just find it really difficult to see him back out there as a Dees player again at this point.
-
Assuming he gets to somewhere near fit by the end of 2014, Freo would have to look at him, obviously the injury probably knocks his value around abit but it's about what's best for Mitch and if we could get something out of it everyone wins.
-
Perhaps it might be time to consider a potential trade back to Perth? if that's what's best for Mitch and the mfc can get a good result out of it i reckon it should be looked at, as much as i'd be sad to see him go.
-
I say we wait until he retires before we discuss his replacement, a fit and firing Mitch Clark is better than anyone we will attract on the market
-
if you believe Stereotypes we probably have more teeth in our 30,000 members than they do in their 60,000

I can't believe people are worried about if it's paid leave or not, he's a demon player going through a tough time, either offer something supportive or keep quiet it's really not that hard, it's this basic common sense that seperates us from Collingwood supporters and right now we look just as bad. All the best Mitch!
-
To be honest i just thought that was immature on both fronts, if i were in charge of the lions i'd have given them both a serious kick up the bum for that, all of those players if fit were in their best 22 and it's obvious the club contributed to them leaving, clubs that are good to be at find a way to hold onto their interstate players, how many Geelong boys do you see wanting to head home
-
It will be interesting who goes to him, would have thought Delaney and Bruce were more suited to taller forwards than Howe and Fisher might well miss the game, dempster maybe not sure if he is fit and ready to go
-
GWS are not easy beats anymore, we are going to have to be right on our game to beat them.
-
Sorry to go off topic but well done for coming up with this idea Stuie, I reckon it's the meaning of being a Dees supporter to rally behind our own during tough times, and i reckon Mitch will really appreciate the thought!
-
Roos will have Mitch's best interests at heart, if he feels he won't play again i'm sure they'll have that conversation.
-
We don't care how long it takes for you to get back Mitch we know how worth the wait you are! in the meantime keep happy, keep revving the boys up, keep working of Chip and Hogan to sign some new contracts so you lads can win a flag together!

I love watching Daniel Pierce and Stephen hill run and hit targets with pin point precision! great to watch, Collingwood don't look top 8 material to me
-
Georgiou for sure, he is in my best 22

Training - Friday 14th March, 2014
Ted Lasso replied to Rod Grinter Riot Squad's topic in Melbourne Demons
He has missed the best part of two years, could very easily become three the way it's looking, i think he's in big trouble, which is a shame because he has absolute superstar potential. -
Maxwell wouldn't crack a spot in our backline imo, very average player.
-
for me it's more about stiff competition than anything, they will have to knock off some real quality teams to play finals this year, going to be an extremely even season with a few standouts and a couple of easy beats

Deeply dissapointing about Mitch, one can only imagine how hard it would be going through that, watching his side getting belted every week and knowing he's our best player and can't help

Open letter - Peter Jackson

PJ's time at the club would be one of the more significant things in this clubs history, i feel strongly that without his imput this club may well have gone under. -
based on his form i have no issue with the contract.
-
I personally think he's been really impressive, i would say he is a certain starter for round 1 and no reason he couldn't play all year.
-
we would have a fair idea right now of who is going to be available at the end of the year, it's entirely possible it's already a verbal agreement and not the right time for an announcement
-
Right now in 2014 Ollie Wines is better than Jimmy Toumpas, may be a totally different story in 2017 but who knows, i rate him and like his chances of being a good player, but that doesn't mean Ollie won't keep getting better either
