  1. I actually thought what happened on Stuie's thread was terrible, it was a genuine positive thread and as usual demonlanders had to wreck that with their stupid negative [censored] and inability to use the other clearly marked thread to voice negative opinions, certainly understand why Stuie is annoyed, and surprised so many demonlanders can't grasp the idea of a positive thread.
  2. AFL website has tipped Stkilda to win by 8, reckon they have that wrong, reckon we'll belt them
  3. I reckon it's pretty funny that the bombers did all these drugs and it still didn't make them good.
  4. Jimmy Toumpas is a potential brownlow medalist
  5. I reckon it's hilarious!
  6. I would be discouraged from going to an away game because there is a big chance we wouldn't hear the grand old flag after the game...
  7. Juice Newton is the best forward prospect we have had in the last 25 years.
  8. I am actually all for this plan, if we only do it for Fremantle and GWS their songs are terrible.
  9. I would say that Salem is closer to being AFL ready than Toumpas was last year, but we are in better shape now, we simply had no one else.
  10. I think that's probably pretty natural for a skinny lad playing against seasoned AFL players with no real support, I reckon he will come good in that sense as he gets confidence, the big thing for me is that he wasn't shy about it in junior footy or even in the SANFL, so it's not an overall being soft issue, it's just at AFL level for now.
  11. He has been on the list for one year... seriously.. get a grip bud
  12. Isn't how they went at contests exactly the same as how they win the contested ball? haha the biggest knock on Toumpas from demonland is that he is soft, in his first season, to expect every bloke to come in and impact games is just silly, Ollie may well have been just as ordinary as a Dees because he would have had no support around him, unlike at Port in what looks a top 4 midfield.
  13. I think Evans has some ability, I reckon he is just the right type of fringe player to have, works hard and will keep banging on the door still believe he is ahead of guys like Tapscott, Barry, Strauss, Byrnes and co
  14. The thread title is Ollie Wines, who has constantly been referred too as a contested ball beast, and almost the entire argument against Jimmy is that he isn't a contested ball beast. But irrelevant, it's a thread for expressing opinions, mine is that Jimmy was okay in his first year, unrealistic expectations aside I think he did about what you'd expect from a young man coming off no pre season really in his first year, he had a couple of 20 plus touches games and when he gets some games into him he will only need 20 touches to have an impact with the quality of his disposal, I actually think we got the best indication of what sort of player Jimmy is going to be from his VFL form, he just needs to transfer that to AFL level and he'll be fine.
  15. He's good in traffic but he's not an out and out in and under midfielder.
  16. If we re-recruited either we'd get done with tanking.
  17. I reckon they will expect Hickey to do the majority of the ruck work so having Gawn and Spencer might give us an advantage if we can run him off his legs, particularly given how much stronger our midfield will be, gee it's strange saying that.
  18. The idea that you have to be a contested ball beast to make it at AFL level is just plain wrong. Scott Pendelbury is not a contested ball beast and certainly in the best 4-5 players in the comp No doubting Ollie is a better player at this stage but no one knows what's going to happen from this point on, Toumpas could surprise everyone yet and I think he will, i'm sure some posters will jump back on board as if they never doubted him before his career is over.
  19. Interesting, I don't know nearly enough about this bloke apparenty, any highlights on youtube or anything?
  20. Kid has some serious speed
  21. I agree, I don't know the details of what's going on but I know that people in a really bad situation can view it as never ending, maybe he comes back refreshed in 8 weeks and has a few games in the second half of the year
  22. Mate, he just wait til the end of the year, if Boyd kicks more goals I am certain someone will comment that we picked the wrong one.
  23. Absolutely, I would have offered Gibbs and their first round pick for Boyd, I reckon Henderson and Waite can also fill key position posts but they really needed a real quality player at either end, Jameson and Boyd would have given them that.
  24. I reckon Terlich would get a run elsewhere, Brisbane at one point rated him as our most damaging offensive player, granted Clark, and Dawes both didn't play that game and Howe was out of form bigtime
