  1. based on the talk out of the club it sounds like the players have received some home truths around how we're going and about some of the bad habits we have creeping in. I am expecting a pretty emphatic response tonight, Freo have struggled in wet conditions this year and it really suits our chaos style so i think we can have a pretty strong win
  2. I think we're more likely to win a premiership with Luke Jackson in the team than we are with the likely compensation we'd get for him, and it's 2 more years of him settling into melbourne. I think the club would have plans ready if he left after the 2 years as well so I'm not too sure who the dockers have as a key forward that would give us the immediate help we need down there?
  3. God i hope he stays. Just see him as someone who is ready to absolutely explode as a player and could really make a huge difference in our push for multiple premierships!

Honestly Kozzie is about as likely to leave as jack viney is to suddenly decide footy is too rough for him. the standards in the media are disgraceful
  5. I don’t think we can cover him down back so can’t do it this year but if we got griffen logue out of the Luke Jackson trade it could mean we could send petty forward and really improve us as a side.
  6. I reckon harmes is pretty popular within the group and worth keeping for culture reasons. Very handy if we need a tagging role as well because he still tends to win his own ball as well as shutting someone down. hope someone goes to Andy brayshaw tomorrow because I think if they win that it’ll seriously limit the dockers. in terms of targets I’d be looking closely at mclean from the swans, jack Gunston from the hawks and Karl Amon is another we have been linked to. unsure what a Luke Jackson trade looks like but given his potential And the dockers financial investment I imagine it’ll be a steep asking price
  7. Nathan Wilson apparently looking at options. Would we have any interest?
  8. This signing could win us the 2022 flag. there is no doubt some bad habits have been creeping in and some selfish play, less willing to do the off the ball stuff that made us so good last year, not as strong with defensive running. Then a big name player looks at all options and chooses to take a huge pay cut and play in positions he ideally wouldn’t for the team. actions like that can filter through the whole club and could really see us quickly return to our absolute best form.
  9. In 5 years is Luke Jackson a ruckman or a key forward?
  10. Exactly and we’d appeal because of lever connection and in premiership window. Short term bargain contract that significantly improves our depth.
  11. I don’t mind the idea of picking up Matt crouch for depth given he would cost a packet of skittles.
  12. My instinct is that he’s probably going to go, I don’t think it’s about money or disliking Melbourne though. I think he’d just like to go home so if we can work out a fair deal, happy days. I’d like a top 10 pick, a second rounder and a player who could play a role in our best 22
  13. It’s security mate. Like most of us these guys are buying homes, settling down, building their incomes. And the club can bank on having those required players long term. It’s win win
  14. Did Gus run over your cat? I don’t understand
  15. I think we have/are definitely loading, but the biggest problems have been due to a step away from our 2021 values, some bad habits creeping back in and some inconsistency of availability and form with key players as well as simply playing some really good teams at times. our best is still good enough to win the flag and I’m really encouraged by the talk coming out of the club
  16. Haven’t overpaid. Gus has taken significantly less than what he would have gotten elsewhere. He got ALOT of interest and some really good offers.
  17. Odds of Gus lining up on Andy in the midfield at the first bounce?
  18. No stress mate :) just playing the game. I know for a fact players sign and sometimes it’s not announced for an extended period, it’s all a timing and marketing game for clubs but the players know
  19. I wish I could mate. I don’t have any definitive information but I think we can all see the writing on the wall a bit unfortunately
  20. Yeah, nah they weren’t though. They were bang on and always are. I wouldn’t have gone with this as strongly if I did if I wasn’t sure.
  21. Just thrilled. Gus has become the heart beat of this team and his selfless acceptance of roles he’d ideally not be playing is a huge part of why the club won a premiership. I believe wholeheartedly this will provide a massive boost and significant relief for the players and will result in a much improved performance tomorrow night
  22. Is he a vic boy? If so I definitely would be.
  23. Haha didn’t announce on the podcast in the end! Sorry I leaked your plan gus!
  24. I agree on a longer initial contract for interstate players just to give them a chance to settle in. And will make them more honest in interviews about if they actually intend to be part of the club
  25. To add to this, hearing it’s either 5 or 6 years
